Impact of Handing to Patients a Copy of the Consultation Report on Their Medicine Consumption
Viral Gastro EnteritisPharyngitisIn France, patients with benign viral infections (ie: gastro enteritis and/or rhinopharyngitis, etc.) often receive several prescriptions from their doctors, although there is evidence that these medicines are not efficient. We hypothesize that patients could be reassured by health advices, especially if they are written. In addition, we believe that doctors would feel less guilty for not prescribing drugs if they could hand written consultation reports to patients, in these situations. We aim to assess the impact of handing to patients with viral gastroenteritis or upper respiratory tract infections, a copy of the consultation report on their medicine consumption.
Treatment of Group A Beta Hemolytic Streptococcal Pharyngitis in Children in Low Resource Settings...
Streptococcal InfectionsPharyngitisThe purpose of this study was to compare the microbiological effects of two different treatments: a single dose of intramuscular benzathine penicillin G (IM BPG) vs. a 10-day daily dose of amoxicillin for the treatment of GABHS pharyngitis in children in low resource settings. This study was a prospective multi-center randomized active control treatment trial. The trial is a non-inferiority equivalence trial, to determine if amoxicillin treatment is at least as effective as the currently given IM BPG treatment.
Recurrent Throat Infections and Tonsillectomy

Other aims are to find out the effect of tonsillectomy to reduce the number of pharyngitis episodes or symptoms. Still, the possible disadvantages of tonsillectomy and changes in the quality of life after tonsillectomy among these patients are examined.
