The Turkish Version of the Inflammatory Arthritis Facilitators and Barriers to Physical Activity...

Axial Spondyloarthritis

Our aim in this study is to translate the Inflammatory Arthritis Facilitators and Barriers to Physical Activity (IFAB) Questionnaire which was developed to determine the factors that facilitate and prevent individuals for physical activity for patients with inflammatory arthritis into Turkish language. Also, our aim is to evaluate the validity and reliability of the IFAB Questionnaire in the Turkish population, and to perform a cultural adaptation if necessary at the same time. Determining the factors that facilitate and prevent individuals for physical activity interventions with rheumatic diseases and then designing physical activity programs considering these factors may play an important role in reducing the symptoms caused by the disease and increasing their quality of life.

Evaluation of Spine Posture, Trunk Position Sense and Gait in Axial Spondyloarthritis Patients

Non-radiographic Axial SpondyloarthritisAnkylosing Spondylitis

Axial Spondyloarthritis (Ax-SpA) are chronic systemic inflammatory rheumatological diseases characterized by axial skeletal involvement and enthesitis. Sacroiliitis is the most prominent sign of the disease. The International Society for the Evaluation of Spondyloarthritis created a new classification for Ax-SpA in 2009. According to this classification, Ax-SpA; It is divided into two groups as ankylosing spondylitis (AS) and non-radiographic axial spondyloarthritis (nr-axSpA). With the emergence of the term nr-axSpA, studies have begun to compare AS and nr-axSpA in terms of genetic, epidemiological and clinical features, treatment needs and response to treatment. However, more studies are needed to better understand the clinical features and symptoms of nr-axSpA patients. The aim of this study was to determine the clinical features of patients with nr-axSpA and AS; To evaluate spine posture, trunk position sense and gait parameters, and also to compare these results with healthy individuals.

Longitudinal ULtrasonographic Study of Patients With Spondylarthritis Starting Biological Therapy...

SpondyloarthritisUltrasonography

Patients with spondylarthritis (SpA) (including ankylosing spondylitis, psoriatic arthritis, arthritis as part of inflammatory bowel disease and reactive arthritis) have axial involvement (the spine) as well as peripheral inflammation in joints and entheses (where the tendons and ligaments are anchored to the bone). Patients with high disease activity of SpA may need biological treatment (anti-TNF alpha), which are very expensive medications. Thus it is necessary to have a sensitive method for assessing the response to treatment. Ultrasonography (US) is a validated and reliable method for assessing disease activity in joints and tendons, and may be used to follow the treatment response. The present study will include patients with SpA starting on anti-TNF alpha treatment (as first biologic medication or when switching to a new biologic treatment). The study is an extension of the ongoing NORDMARD study (Norwegian longitudinal observational study of arthritic patients starting disease-modifying treatment). The patients will be examined by use of US of 38 joints and 14 entheses at baseline and after 3, 6 and 12 months. The objectives are to explore US as a method to assess peripheral inflammatory activity for evaluation of response to medication as well as to compare the US pathology with clinical and laboratory findings.

Assessment of NSAID-treated Patients Adherence to Co-prescribed Proton Pump Inhibitor (PPI)

OsteoarthritisRheumatoid Arthritis1 more

The primary objective of this cross-sectional observational real life study is to investigate the patient reported adherence to PPI, when prescribed as prevention of NSAID associated GI Ulcers to patients prescribed a NSAID. Patients included have Osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid Arthritis or Ankylosing Spondylitis. Adherence will be assessed by patient questionnaires.
