Traumatic Cervical Spinal Cord Injury (CSCI)Esophageal recordings of diaphragm electrical activity (EAdi) made it possible to monitor respiratory drive and the subsequent phrenic nerve conduction and respiratory neuromuscular function continuously. Thus, we designed a "spontaneous breathing challenge" test to monitor the change in EAdi after a maximal inspiration. We hypothesized that the absolute change (ΔEAdi) and the percentage changes change (ΔEAdi%) in EAdi after a "spontaneous breathing challenge" predict successful extubation in traumatic CSCI patients during acute hospitalization.

Spinal Cord InjuriesUrinary dysfunction is very common in individuals with spinal cord injury. The urine flowing from the collecting ducts to the renal calyx stretches the calyces. ANS controlled peristaltic contractions originate in the proximal renal pelvis and travel down the ureters, pushing urine from the renal pelvis towards the bladder. The urine bolus delivered from the kidneys through the peristaltic contraction of the ureter creates an image called ureteric jet. Using the Doppler analysis of ureteral jets, previous studies have examined the changes in the ureteric jet pattern in pathological conditions such as the diagnosis of normal ureteral physiology.

Therefore, Leg activity measure, a new self-report measure of active and passive function in the leg, has been developed. Leg activity measure consists of three parts. The first part includes passive functions, the second part includes active functions, and the third part includes the assessment of quality of life. It is a valid and reliable test in adult neurological patients with lower extremity spasticity. It can be used in the evaluation of the active and passive functions of the results of the clinicians' interventions by making the cultural adaptation of the Turkish language and examining its validity and reliability. We think that it will be important to determine the limitations in activity, participation and daily living activities and to evaluate their reflections.
Urodynamics of Suprasacral Spinal Cord Injury Patients
Spinal Cord InjuriesThe medical records of 215 patients with spinal cord injury(SCI) at the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine of the 2nd Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University, Wenzhou, China were evaluated between January 1, 2016 and December 20, 2019. According to the inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria, 101 patients were included. The patients were dichotomized into two groups: complete SCI group and incomplete SCI group, based on the American Spinal Injury Association Guidelines Impairment Scale (AIS) .The investigators retrospectively collected records of urodynamic evaluations of this patients and then analyze the urodynamic parameters,including detrusor overactivity (DO), bladder compliance (BC), bladder-filling sensation, maximum cystometric capacity (MCC), detrusor external sphincter dyssynergia (DESD), maximum urinary flow rate (Qmax), detrusor pressure at a maximum urinary flow rate(PdetQmax).
