Embryo Transfer: Direct Versus Afterloading Trial

Infertility

The purpose of this study is to evaluate two types of embryo transfer procedure. The investigators will compare direct embryo transfer against afterloading embryo transfer.

Does Follicular Flushing Improve the Outcome in Monofollicular IVF Therapy?

Infertility

Follicular aspiration as well as follicular flushing are standardized techniques and have been practiced in polyfollicular IVF (in vitro fertilization) therapy for years. Monofollicular IVF therapy is a standard technique as well. IVF can be done in natural cycles or with a minimal stimulation with clomifen citrate to achieve a monofollicular response. Our study aims to compare follicular aspiration and follicular flushing in monofollicular stimulation. First the investigators want to answer the question whether flushing is beneficial for the oocyte yield. In case of a positive result the investigators want to establish a recommendation about the optimal number of flushings taking into account the duration of the procedure and the pain during manipulation.

The Clinical Outcomes Following Transfer of Blastocysts Cultured From Thawed Cleavage Stage Embryos...

Infertility

Recent improvements in cell culture systems have led to a shift in in vitro fertilization (IVF) practice from early cleavage stage embryo transfer (ET) to blastocyst transfer. Blastocyst culture and transfer could theoretically provide better synchronization between the embryo and the uterine endometrium. The purpose of this study is comparing pregnancy rates and implantation rate following transfer of thawed cleavage embryos and blastocysts cultured from thawed cleavage embryos.

The Valve of Hyaluronic Binding Selection (PICSI) in Improving IVF Outcome

Infertility

The investigators would like to assess whether selecting mature sperm using PICSI (selecting for sperm that bind hyaluronan) can optimize the IVF outcome of ICSI . Aim Primary outcome: To compare routine sperm selection using ICSI with sperm selection using PICSI plates in terms of implantation and fertilization rates for couples with male factor fertility Secondary outcome : To compare live birth rates ,ongoing pregnancies and miscarriage rates for couples with male factor infertility using routine sperm selection with ICSI compared to using PICSI plates for sperm selection Hypothesis: Sperm selected for ICSI using (PICSI) will reveal increased implantation rates in comparison to sperm selected for conventional ICSI

Sequential vs. Monophasic Media Impact Trial (SuMMIT)

Infertility

To evaluate the impact of two FDA approved culture media on potential of human embryos resulting from IVF (sequential & monophasic media). Half of each patient's embryos will be randomly assigned to grow in monophasic media & the other half in sequential media. All embryos will undergo Comprehensive Chromosome Screening (CCS) & the best euploid embryo from each group will be transferred resulting in a double embryo transfer (DET). If there are only euploid embryos from one group, patient will have single embryo transfer (SET)(fresh or frozen).

Uterus Transplantation From Live Donor

Primary Uterine Infertility

Uterus transplantation, as a possible future treatment for uterine factor infertility, has been developed in animal species during the last decade. The study protocol includes transplantation of the uterus from a live donor (mother, relative, friend) into women with absolute uterine factor infertility (lack of uterus from birth or due to life saving hysterectomy). The recipient will be treated by standard immunosuppression and transfer of embryos (acquired by IVF before surgery) will be attempted when at least 12 months have passed from transplantation. Approval for a case series including up to 10 patients has been acquired.

Gene Expression in Cumulus Cells to Predict Pregnancy

Infertility

The purpose of this study is to determine the performance of a genetic assay, GemART, in cumulus cells predictive of embryo viability, and pregnancy success in women undergoing in vitro fertilization (IVF). Performance is defined as success rate per embryo transferred, as measured by the implantation rate of embryos transferred.

Danazol Treatment in Endometriosis Women Before IVF

EndometriosisOvarian Cysts1 more

The purpose of this study is to determine whether pre-treatment with danazol for at least 4 months before controlled ovarian hyperstimulation for IVF cycles improves pregnancy rate.

Evaluation of IMSI to Treat Male Infertility

Infertility

Intracytoplasmic Morphologically Selected Sperm (IMSI) is a modification of IntraCytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) with a choice of the spermatozoon to be injected done at a 6000x magnification instead of 400x commonly used in ICSI. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficiency and the indications of IMSI through a multicentric randomised trial.

Optimal Balloon Catheter Placement During Sonohysterography

Infertility

Saline infusion sonohysterography and other intrauterine investigations methods may cause uterine cramping, pain and vasovagal reactions. According to few of previous studies the position of catheter placement can affect the magnitude of pain and amount of saline required during the sonohysterography. The purpose of this double blind control trial study is to assess whether the location of the balloon catheter either the uterus or cervix during sonohysterography can affect the magnitude of pain and the rate of vasovagal reaction.
