Real-world Evidence on Follitropin Delta Individual Dosing

InfertilitySterility

As part of the in vitro fertilisation treatment, ovarian stimulation is routinely performed. For this purpose, FSH preparations are used. Follitropin delta is a FSH preparation that is approved for a wide range of applications and is dosed individually according to body weight and serum anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH). Body weight is used to estimate the distribution volume of the glycoprotein FD in the patient and is thus a proxy of exposure. The AMH is used to estimate the ovarian reserve and thus the number of follicles in the ovaries that can be recruited by Follitropin delta stimulation. An algorithm is used for individual dosing. The aim of individual dosing is to reduce the probability of an under or overreaction of the ovaries to FSH therapy. In contrast to phase III registration studies, patients with severe overweight and underweight, as well as very high and very low AMH values and associated disorders of the menstrual cycle and oocyte maturation, are also found in the reality of care. The performance of the dosing algorithm and thus the results of ovarian stimulation in these subgroups of patients have so far been insufficiently investigated in the phase III registration trials. In the present study no statistical hypothesis will be tested. The study is descriptive by design and the analyses are descriptive and exploratory. NIS is chosen in order to explore how the individualized dosing regimen of REKOVELLE® performs in routine clinical practice and to investigate the effectiveness and safety of REKOVELLE® under real-world conditions. This is a monocentric, prospective, non-interventional cohort study conducted in normal care setting in a fertility clinic that will collect information from 300 women undergoing up to two cycles of IVF or ICSI treatment with controlled ovarian stimulation with REKOVELLE®.

Detection of Microplastics in Human Granulosa Cells and in the Follicular Fluid of Women Undergoing...

Female InfertilityEnvironmental Exposure

Plastic products have been used ubiquitously in the modern world for many decades - for example as packaging materials, textile fibers or molded parts. The general use and especially the improper disposal lead to enormous environmental pollution almost everywhere on earth. Microplastics mainly originate from fragmentation of larger plastic objects or can be produced directly for the use in e.g. cosmetics or industrial dyes. Microplastics have already been detected in fresh- and seawater, soil, food, but also in human blood and urine. The accumulation of microplastics in ovarian and testicular tissue in humans has not yet been investigated.

The Prevalence and Reproductive Outcome of Infertile Women With Genital Tuberculosis

InfertilityFemale2 more

Female genital tuberculosis infection (FGTB) is an important cause of female infertility in TB-endemic areas. The pregnancy rate of assisted reproductive treatment (ART) in the infertile women with FGTB is still unsatisfied even after receiving standard anti-tuberculosis treatment. Moreover, recent years have witnessed an alarming increase in reports of FGTB-related maternal and neonatal complications after fertility treatments. These underscore that timely detection and treatment of FGTB before ART hold benefit for the mother and child.

Vitamin D Supplementation and Improvement of PCOS Therapy and IVF Outcomes in Infertile Saudi Women...

Female InfertilityPolycystic Ovary Syndrome4 more

This randomized double-blinded-controlled clinical trial consists of two protocols as follow: protocol 1: evaluation of the therapeutic effects of Vitamin D3 supplement when given alone and in combination with an ovulation-inducing agent (e.g., Clomiphene citrate or Letrozole) on ovarian functional status and hormonal and metabolic features of PCOS-Vitamin D-deficient infertile Saudi women; and protocol 2: evaluation of the effectiveness of Vitamin D3 supplement versus placebo on the clinical pregnancy rate, fertilization implantation rate, live birth rate, and other outcome parameters following in-vitro fertilization (IVF) application in these PCOS-Vitamin D-deficient infertile patients.

Integrative Body-Mind-Spirit Group Intervention for Infertile Couples

Infertility

This is a two-arm, with equal randomization, parallel randomized controlled trial. It compares the efficacy of a couple-based Integrative Body-Mind-Spirit (I-BMS) group intervention to a waitlist control group in improving dyadic couple flourishing and fertility-related quality of life among couples who are diagnosed of infertility in Hong Kong. It also aims to investigate the dyadic associations between infertile husbands' and wives' baseline primary outcomes and changes in primary outcomes following the intervention.

Monitoring of Progesterone Administered in Infertile Patients During a Cycle of Frozen Embryo Transfer....

IVF

During an In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) attempt, several embryos are obtained but not all of them can be transferred to the uterus in the same cycle due to the risk of multiple pregnancies. Thus, it is very common for these couples to benefit from cryopreservation. Patients scheduled for frozen embryo transfer (TEC) receive estrogen and progesterone replacement therapy to prepare the endometrium for implantation. Data from the literature recently showed that low progesterone on the day of embryo transfer was responsible for a significantly higher rate of implantation failure and miscarriage.

Group Preconception Care for Fertility Patients

Infertility

Group Preconception Care for Fertility Patients aims to translate the well-established group prenatal care model to preconception care to improve pregnancy and neonatal outcomes. In partnership with Pomelo Care (a virtual maternity care program), the investigators are conducting this study using couples at Penn Fertility Care.

Improvement of Reproductive Function in Men With Spinal Cord Injury (SCI)

InfertilityMale

This is a study of infertility which often occurs in men with spinal cord injury. Most men with spinal cord injury have a normal sperm count but abnormally low sperm motility - which means that the sperm does not swim well. This study will determine if a medicine given by mouth will improve sperm motility in men with spinal cord injuries. The medicine is called probenecid.

Assessing the Effect of Abstinence Period on Semen Parameters

InfertilityMale

The goal of this study is to learn about the impact of abstinence periods on sperm quality in healthy males 20-45 years of age with no significant comorbidities who are able to produce a semen sample via masturbation. The main question it aims to answer is: • Do shorter abstinence periods result in improved semen quality? Participants will provide semen samples for analysis following abstinence periods of 7 days, 5 days, 2 days, 1 day, and 3 hours.
