Vaccine Coverage and Primary Sjögren'Syndrome
Primary Sjögren SyndromeEvaluation of vaccination coverage for influenza, pneumococcus and DTP in patients with pSS and investigated the reasons for non-vaccination.
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and Amyloidosis
AmyloidosisCarpal Tunnel SyndromeCarpal tunnel syndrome has been suggested to be an early sign of amyloidosi. The investigators will evaluate tissue samples obtained from patients undergoing carpal tunnel release surgery for amyloid.
Comparison of the PaO2/FiO2 Ratio to Other Oxygenation Indexes for the Classification of Severity...
Acute Respiratory Distress SyndromeIn mechanically ventilated patients the PaO2/FiO2 ratio might not be the best reflection of the severity of ARDS. It does not incorporate variables and settings used during mechanical ventilatory support such as the positive end expiratory pressure (PEEP), inspiratory time to expiratory time ratio (Ti:Te), and the peak alveolar pressure (Palv). The aim is to identify a new oxygenation index for stratification of severity of ARDS
Translation of the International Consensus Definition of LARS Into a Bowl Dysfunction Severity Scoring...
Low Anterior Resection SyndromeThe purpose of this study is to develop a new severity scoring tool for Low Anterior Resection Syndrome (LARS) drawing on the international consensus criteria for LARS as well as opinions of patients with lived-experience of LARS.
Predicting ICU Mortality in ARDS Patients
Acute Respiratory Distress SyndromeThe investigators are planning to perform a secondary analysis of an academic dataset of 1,303 patients with moderate-to-severe acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) included in several published cohorts (NCT00736892, NCT02288949, NCT02836444, NCT03145974), aimed to characterize the best early model to predict duration of mechanical ventilation and mortality in the intensive care unit (ICU) after ARDS diagnosis using machine learning approaches.
HRR as a Novel Biomarker in Sjögren's Syndrome
Sjögren's SyndromeSjögren's syndrome (SS) is an autoimmune disorder characterized by chronic salivary and lacrimal gland dysfunction leading to dry mouth (xerostomia) and dry eye (xerophthalmia) sensation (1). Although dry mouth and dry eye are the main symptoms, the disease may influence many organs and systems. Diagnosis is made with ocular surface staining scores, anti-SS-A/SS-B auto-antibody positivity, and minor salivary gland biopsy (2). The Complete blood count (CBC) is a simple, inexpensive, accessible, and routinely used laboratory parameter that can be linked to oxidative stress, inflammation and microvascular flow resistance. Parameters include NLR and PLR values may be calculated by using CBC parameters (3). Neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio is used as an inflammatory marker in the diagnosis and prognosis of many cardiovascular diseases, malignancies, and infections (4-6). Peripheral inflammatory biomarkers of hematologic indices had been suggested by numerous studies to play a role during SS onset and progression.
T1D, Metabolic Syndrome and Insulin Resistance
Type 1 DiabetesMetabolic Syndrome1 morePatients with type 1 diabetes (T1D) and metabolic syndrome (MS) require high doses of insulin to achieve a glycemic control, due to insulin resistance (IR). The investigators identified the presence of metabolic syndrome and insulin resistance in patients with T1D in a population of southeast Mexico. The sampled population was recruited from the Diabetes Clinic of the Regional Hospital of High Specialty "Dr. Gustavo A. Rovirosa Pérez"; from August 2021 to February 2022, graduated physicians interviewed patients previously diagnosed with T1D. This study included patients older than 18 years and at least six months after being diagnosed with T1D. The interviewers excluded patients who did not attend regular consultations and those who did not agree to participate or to give a blood sample. A diabetologist evaluated and diagnosed all patients based on the World Health Organization (WHO) criteria. Fasting glucose, total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, and triacylglycerols were determined in blood serum using a Clinical Chemistry System from Random Access Diagnostics. The reasearch team determined glycated hemoglobin concentrations by an enzymatic immunoassay method.
Interstitial Lung Diseases in Primary Sjogren's Syndrome
Sjogren's SyndromePatients with pSS seen in the Division of Rheumatology, the second affiliated hospital of Zhejiang University, School of Medicine (SAHZU) during January 2016 to July 2018, were retrospectively reviewed. Characteristics were analyzed.
Reperfusion Syndrome and Vasoplegic Syndrome in Liver Transplant Surgery
Postperfusion SyndromeThe incidence of postreperfusion syndrome (PRS) and vasoplegic syndrome (VS) is unknown, and occasionally can be confused since these syndromes share some hemodynamic characteristics. In these cases, monitoring with Swan Ganz catheter may be useful to make the differential diagnosis. The main outcome was to analyze reperfusion syndrome and vasoplegic syndrome in patients receiving vasoactive support during liver transplant surgery, in terms of incidence, risk factors and postoperative complications.
IBS-C Questionnaire Study
Irritable Bowel Syndrome With ConstipationFunctional ConstipationThe study is a multi-centre, observational study which enrolls 150 IBS-C patients and 150 non-IBS-C patients in China.
