DOACs for Stroke Prevention Post Ventricular Tachycardia Ablation

Ventricular TachycardiaPremature Ventricular Contraction1 more

The purpose of this study is to learn if taking a drug called direct oral anticoagulant after an ablation procedure keeps blood clots from forming and lowers the chance of having a stroke in patients with ventricular tachycardia or arrhythmia (VT).

Inducibility and Stability of Ventricular Tachycardia Inpatients Undergoing VT Ablation Under General...

Ventricular Tachycardia

This research study is being done to see whether general anesthesia (GA) affects our ability to start ventricular tachycardia (VT) during an VT ablation procedure. Data collected during this research study will help electrophysiologists and anesthesiologists to make the best decisions about the best anesthetic conditions to use to perform VT ablations. This research study is a "pilot" study. Pilot studies are done on a small group of subjects to learn if a larger study would be useful.

Qualitative Sweat Distribution During Tilt Table Procedure

Postural Tachycardia SyndromeSyncope1 more

This study uses an Alizarin Red powder mixture to characterize the sweat distributions in youth during tilt table testing. Patients with a known orthostatic sweat response from a prior clinical tilt table test in the investigators laboratory will be recruited. The Alizarin Red powder will be applied to exposed skin, and quantitative sweat will be measured at the thigh. During tilt testing, serial photos will be taken once the sweat response occurs. Sweat distributions will be compared during syncope (orthostatic sweat), during periods of anxiety (emotional sweat), and in patients with POTS (with and without syncope).

Routine Mini-invasive Electrophysiology Study for Patients Feeling Tachycardia, With a Negative...

Pre-excitation SyndromesParoxysmal Tachycardia3 more

Patients complaining of tachycardia but with a negative Holter ECG, are for a limited time period offered a simplified electrophysiological(EP) examination. By a full electrophysiological study(EP study)electrodes are introduced for pacing and sensing i all four heart chambers. Where as by the mini invasive EP study only one electrode is introduced to the right atrium. The simplified procedure represent a smaller risk of complications, requires less resources but should yield the same diagnoses in more than 90% of the cases. The study is a feasibility study to see if the procedure can discover arrythmias in a fairly unselected patient population.

Evaluation of the Pharmacokinetic Profile, Pharmacodynamic Effects, Acceptability and Tolerability...

Supraventricular Tachycardia

The supra ventricular tachycardia is the most common symptomatic arrhythmia in pediatrics. Amiodarone is an antiarrhythmic drug used in this indication. Pharmacokinetic, efficacy and safety data are not known in the pediatric population due to the lack of a suitable specialty available on the market. The development of an amiodarone oral solution formulation adapted to this age group should provide a therapeutic alternative and collect data on the pharmacokinetics, efficacy, acceptability and tolerability of the drug.

Prospective Cardiac Ultrasound Imaging Study With Demonstrator

Ventricular Tachycardia

The Prospective Cardiac Ultrasound Imaging Study is a single center, single arm, feasibility study. The study aims at collecting cardiac ultrasound data from patients diagnosed with ventricular tachycardia, during rest and short breath hold sequences. This study is part of the engineering studies linked to the CardioKit-Minimum Viable Product project. The CardioKit prototype used in the study can monitor cyclical heart-beat motion, cyclical respiratory motion and non-cyclical heart position changes while the patient is lying in supine position.

Atropine in Catecholaminergic Polymorphic Ventricular Tachycardia (CPVT)

Catecholaminergic Polymorphic Ventricular Tachycardia

To test the hypothesis that increasing the sinus node rate with atropine treatment prior to exercise will reduce exercise-triggered ventricular ectopy compared to baseline in patients with CPVT.

Magnetic Resonance (MR) Conditional Tachyarrhythmia Therapy Products Post-approval Study

Tachyarrhythmia

Following product approval, further confirmation of the MR Conditional Tachyarrhythmia Therapy Systems sensing and detection performance post MRI exposure will be obtained by actively monitoring de-identified device data obtained through the Medtronic CareLink® Network.

Troponin Leaks in Emergency Department Patients Presenting With Supraventricular Tachycardia (SVT)...

Supraventricular Tachycardia

The goal of this study is twofold. First the investigators would like to determine the trajectory of troponin leaks; if it can be shown that the participants who have only minimal elevations of their repeat troponin universally decrease on the 3rd level then future patients may see significantly improved length of stay. Second, given conflicting results in the literature, the investigators would like to determine if elevated troponin levels correlate to later cardiovascular complications. These complications will be defined as Death, Myocardial Infarction, Cardiovascular intervention (such as coronary artery stenting or bypass). As the investigator is a single hospital system in this county it is uniquely positioned to be able to review this retrospectively.
