Turkish Validity and Reliability of The Tampa Scale for Kinesiophobia for Temporomandibular Disorders...
Temporomandibular Joint DisordersObjective: The aim of this study is to evaluate the validity and reliability of the Turkish version of the 'The Tampa Scale for Kinesiophobia for Temporomandibular Disorders (TSK-TMD)' questionnaire used to assess kinesiophobia in temporomandibular joint disorders. Method: The "Tampa Kinesiophobia Scale in Temporomandibular Disorders" (TSK-TMD), which consists of 12 item, was adapted to Turkish with the translation and back-translation method. 111 patients (75 females, 36 males) who had been diagnosed with temporomandibular joint for at least 6 months and diagnosed as Temporomandibular Joint Disorder were participated to fill out the questionnaire. In the present study, participants were assessed with the Temporomandibular joint disorders evaluation form, Turkish TSK-TMD-12 item, Visuel Analogue Scale (VAS) and Pain Catastrophizing Scale (PCS). The internal consistency and test-retest reliability with a 3-5 days time were used to evaluate the reliability of the TSK-TMD. The reliability of the corelatıon was checked with PCS. Construct validity was assessed based on confirmatory factor analysis (CFA).
Dual-echo and Inversion Recovery Magnetic Resonance Imaging Pulse Sequences in Diagnosis of Temporomandibular...
Temporomandibular Joint DisordersIn the present study, investigators are going to investigate the potential of inversion recovery (fluid attenuated inversion recovery -FLAIR and short-TI Inversion Recovery -STIR) sequence images to demonstrate joint effusion, compared to T2-weighted images.
Reliability, Validity of The Turkish Version of Craniofacial Pain and Disability Inventory
Temporomandibular Joint DisordersThis study, we are aim to make the Turkish version validity and reliability of the Cranifacial Pain and Disability Inventory, Jaw Functional Limitation Scale-20, and Jaw Functional Limitation Scale-8.
Multimodal Assessment of Sensory Processing and Brain Features in Patients With Chronic Orofacial...
ToothacheTemporomandibular Joint DisordersThis proposal will investigate pain modulatory mechanisms and brain functional and structural characteristics using multiple MRI modalities in persistent dentoalveolar pain disorder (PDAP) patients with and without temporomandibular disorders (TMD). All measures from patients will be compared to painfree controls.
Electromyographic Analysis of the Masticatory Muscles in Cleft Lip and Palate Children With Temporomandibular...
Cleft Lip and PalateTemporomandibular DisorderThe aim of this study was to assess the electrical activity of the temporal and masseter muscles in cleft lip and palate (CLP) children with pain-related temporomandibular disorders (TMD) and in CLP individuals with no TMD by means of surface electromyography (sEMG). Another objective was to determine the diagnostic value of electromyography in identifying CLP patients with temporomandibular disorders. The sample comprised 87 children with CLP and mixed dentition. The children were assessed for the presence of TMD using of the Research Diagnostic Criteria for TMD (RDC/TMD) by a single examiner. A DAB-Bluetooth Instrument (Zebris Medical GmbH, Germany) was used to take electromyographical (EMG) recordings of the temporal and masseter muscles both in the mandibular rest position and during maximum voluntary contraction (MVC).
Effect of Functional Treatment on Mandibular Asymmetric Growth
Temporomandibular Joint DisorderTemporomandibular joint (TMJ) arthritis is known to alter the mandibular development in children diagnosed with juvenile idiopathic arthritis. In a number of cases a genuine breakdown of cartilage and bone is seen in the affected joint which leads to asymmetric mandibular growth in the affected side. In cases of unilateral TMJ involvements severe mandibular asymmetric mandibular growth deviations are seen. We hypothesize that these growth deviations can be minimized and controlled by the use functional orthodontic appliance therapy.
Prevalence of Temporomandibular Disorders in Patients With Fibromyalgia Syndrome
Temporomandibular DisorderFibromyalgiaOne Hundred Fifty woman patients diagnosed with fibromyalgia according to the American College of Rheumatology 2010 diagnostic criteria and 150 healthy woman volunteers will be included.Demographic data (age, gender, height, weight, marital status, education level) and duration of fibromyalgia diagnosis will be recorded. Patients will be evaluated according to the Diagnostic Criteria for Temporomandibular Disorders: Assessment Instruments (DCTMD: AI ). Patients will be evaluated by Diagnostic Criteria for Temporomandibular Disorders: Temporomandibular Disorders (TMD) Pain Screener, Symptom questionnaire, Clinical Examination Form from Assessment Instruments Axis I. Pain Drawing, Graded Chronic Pain (version 2), Jaw Functional Limitation Scale-8 (JFLS-8), Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-4), Oral Behaviors Checklist will be applied within the scope of Axis II.
the Relationship Between Parafunctional Habits, Pain and Functional Limitation of the Jaw
Temporomandibular DisorderPain1 moreTemporomandibular disorders affect the general health and quality of life of individuals by causing deterioration in orofacial function and cause functional limitation. The use of Diagnostic Criteria for Temporomandibular Disorders (DC-TMD) is recommended for evidence-based evaluation of jaw joint disorders for clinical and research purposes. The aim of this study is to show the factors affecting the functional limitation of the jaw and to evaluate the relationship between the pain, Oral Behavioral Checklist and the Jaw Functional Limitation Scale (JFLS-8), using the Diagnostic Criteria for Temporomandibular Disorders (DC-TMD). 75 patients with temporomandibular disorder (TMD) who will apply to the outpatient clinic of Istanbul Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Training and Research Hospital will be included in our study. DC/TMD Axis I TMD Pain Screener Questionnaire, TMD Symptom Questionnaire, DC/TMD Axis II assessment tools 'Jaw Functional Limitation Scale-8 (JFLS-8) and Oral Behavioral Checklist (OBC) will be applied. In addition, demographic data will be questioned.
Correlation Between Types of Lateral Pterygoid Muscle Attachment and Internal Derangement of the...
TMJ Disorderthe study aimed to evaluate the clinical and MRI finding of TMJ AND LPM with predication of the risk factors. Study design: this retrospective study included 1365 joints in 800 patients diagnosed as TMJ internal derangement and all the patients examined by MRI from 2008 to 2019. Cases with loss of continuity of articular disk or the posterior attachment of the disk were considered as positive cases.
Effectiveness of a Home Based Exercise Program on Temporomandibular Dysfunction Syndrome
Temporomandibular Disorderpatients with chronic refractory temporomandibular dysfunction were prescribed home exercise and were followed for 6 months. Pain , mouth opening and Fonseca's were done at day 1 and after 6 months of the study.
