Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction SyndromePain1 moreThis is a one year followup study that aims to assess the efficacy of low level laser therapy (LLLT) on pain, mouth opening and masticatory muscle activity in cases of temporomandibular dysfunction (TMD) as compared to soft occlusive splints.
Role of Liquid Phase Concentrated Growth Factors vs. Hypertonic Dextrose Prolotherapy for Management...
Temporomandibular Joint DisordersTemporomandibular DisorderPurpose of the study is to compare clinically, radiographically and biochemically the effect of intra- articular injection of hypertonic dextrose with a stabilization appliance and the intra- articular injection of 2 ml of liquid phase concentrated growth factor with a stabilization appliance as a prolotherapy for temporomandibular joint anterior disc displacement without reduction.
Comparative Analysis of the Effectiveness of the Use of Nimesulide and CBD Oil in Patients With...
Temporomandibular Joint DisordersTemporomandibular Joint Dysfunction Syndrome1 moreDuring the study, the effectiveness of analgesic therapy with nimmsulide and cannabidiol oil will be compared. Two study groups will be formed. The study will be conducted on patients reporting to the Dental Prosthetics Clinic of PUM in Szczecin. Patients aged 18-65 years with pain located in the area of the temporomandibular joint and the preauricular area, resulting from a dysfunction of the temporomandibular joint, will be included in the study.
Evaluation Of Efficacy Of Liquid Platelet Rich Fibrin In Temporomandibular Joint Disorders
Temporomandibular Joint DisordersThis randomized clinical trial aims to evaluate the efficacy of liquid platelet-rich fibrin administration at different Wilkes stages.
Effect of the Use of an Occlusal Plate on the Postural Alignment
Temporomandibular Joint DisordersThe possible relationship between posture and instability of the masticatory muscles related to occlusion thus becomes the reason, the objective of this study. In this way, it will be possible to evaluate both postural alignment and postural balance in patients with signs and symptoms of temporomandibular joint disorder before and after the use of an occlusal plate. Our research will take place at the School of Odontology of the University of São Paulo in the clinics of the Occlusion and TMJ Services (SOA) and of the Envelhecer Sorrindo program, and the data will be collected in the Biophysics Laboratory of the School of Physical Education and Sports of the University of São Paulo. The population studies will be made up of 120 patients, 60 being part of the sample and the other 60 in the control group. All the patients in this study are over 20 years of age and are of both genders; the research criteria will be diagnosed by way of filling out the questionnaire of the RDC-TMD and complemented by way of diagnostic imaging via MRI of the temporomandibular joint. The study will be a clinical, randomized, controlled, prospective study and intervention. After the subjects' alignment is evaluated by way of photographs and their postural balance by way of a force platform, the group will the randomized; the sample group will receive an occlusal plate with criteria for occlusal stability (simultaneous, bilateral contacts with an absence of interference in the canine and anterior guides). The occlusal plate will be made from "Vacuum Form" acetate with a thickness of 1.5 mm; the simultaneous, bilateral, occlusal contacts and the canine and anterior guides will be obtained by way of autopolymerizable, acrylic resin with the mandible in a centric relationship. The occlusal plate will be controlled weekly. The control group will only receive orientation to do physiotherapeutic exercises seeking to correctly position the mandible in the resting position (maxillar teeth should be approximately 2 mm away from the mandibular teeth) while the tip of the tongue is positioned and accommodated on the roof of the mouth over the incisive papilla on the hard palate (without touching the teeth). The exercise will consist of repeatedly opening the mouth with the tongue cleaving to the roof of the mouth, 3 times per day, each period consisting of 3 sets with 15 repetitions. After 3 months, the two groups will be re-evaluated in terms of postural alignment and balance.

An Investigation Of The Relationship Between Temporomandibular Disorder With Posture And Pedobarographic...
Temporomandibular DisorderThe aim of the study is, to evaluate the whole body posture and plantar pressure distributions in individuals with Temporomandibular Disorder and also in people with healthy temporomandibular joints. A study group aged between 18-35 years, 30 patients, who were diagnosed with Research Diagnostic Criteria for Temporomandibular Disorders (RDC/TMD) who applied us with jaw pain and 30 healthy people at the same age range as a control group were included in the study. Both groups received global postural assessments by using PostureScreen Mobile® (PSM) program which is using four side photographs and the New York Posture Scale (NYPS). Static pedobarographic measurements were taken.
Electrostimulation Therapies With Implementation of Multifractal Electromyographic Analysis
Temporomandibular Dysfunction (TMD)Orofacial PainThe objective is to compare the neuromuscular electrical activity and muscle fatigue of the masseter muscles in three groups of patients with different treatments for TMD (GA = Transcutaneous electrostimulation and splint, GB = percutaneous electrostimulation and splint, and GC = Occlusal splint) by means of 6 electromyographic recordings scheduled weekly. The study population will be patients with TMD who will enter the Physiology Laboratory of the Division of Postgraduate Studies and Research (DEPeI) UNAM, admitted during the period from March to December 2021 The selection of the sample will be carried out by convenience sampling which will be carried out based on the clinical evaluation (considering the inclusion and exclusion criteria). The recruitment period will take place during the period from March to December 2021. The selected sample will be divided into three groups (GA = transcutaneous electrostimulation and splint, GB = percutaneous electrostimulation and splint, GC = splint); the allocation by group will be made by means of a randomization in balanced blocks. The total sample size calculated for this study was 84 patients, 28 for each group. The diagnostic process of Temporomandibular Dysfunction (TMD) will be carried out by the Principal Investigator using the Diagnostic Criteria and Investigation of Temporomandibular Disorders (CDI / TMD).
