Epicondylitis of the ElbowBiceps Tendon DisorderThe study is a multicenter, retrospective, non-randomized, non-controlled and consecutive series post-market study. The purpose of this study is to collect data confirming safety, performance and clinical benefits of the ToggleLoc 2.9 mm Soft Tissue System when used for soft tissue to bone fixation in the elbow. The primary objective is the assessment of performance by analyzing soft tissue to bone healing in the elbow. The secondary objective is the assessment of safety and clinical benefits. Safety will be evaluated by recording and analyzing the incidence and frequency of complications and adverse events. Relation of the events to device, instrumentation and/or procedure will be specified. Clinical benefits will be assessed by recording patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) at the longest follow-up after surgery (minimum one year).

Analysis of the Effect of Neuromuscular Electro-stimulation on the Performance of Isometric Rotator...
Rotator Cuff Impingement SyndromeRotator Cuff Tendinitis1 moreIntroduction: Shoulder disorders are a common musculoskeletal problem causing pain and functional loss in different populations. Tendinopathies are a group of pathologies commonly diagnosed in patients with shoulder pain. Weakness of the rotator cuff musculature has already been documented in other studies, evidence in the literature suggests that patients with tendinopathies demonstrate decreased muscle activation, this is caused by pain, changes in nervous system processing and apparently also by structural processes that occur in the tendon .Treatment often involves resistance, isometric exercises aimed at altering pain and restoring function. Some studies have been investigating the use of ENMS (neuromuscular electrical stimulation) in patients undergoing surgical procedures on the shoulder, other studies have also investigated its use in tendinopathies of the lower limbs, as an effective way to decrease inhibition. Objective: The main objective of this study will be to analyze the muscle strength of internal and external rotation of symptomatic shoulders compared to asymptomatic ones when exposed to neuromuscular electrostimulation, associating muscle strength with joint function. Methodology: This will be a cross-sectional study. An expected total of 48 subjects will be divided into two groups, n=24 with tendinopathy of the rotator cuff, confirmed by clinical diagnosis and nuclear magnetic resonance imaging, the other group being healthy individuals, with no history of shoulder pain. These individuals will be evaluated by a first evaluator who will perform the eligibility of the subjects and collect the initial information, the second evaluator will perform the isometric strength evaluation with a manual dynamometer. Two batteries of tests will be performed in both groups, a conventional assessment of isometric strength and the other subject will be submitted to neuromuscular electrostimulation. These strength values in Kgf were normalized for each individual, being divided by the body mass index (BMI) and multiplied by 100, as already performed in previous studies. Expected results: The initial hypothesis is that patients who present with the studied condition when submitted to the strength test with muscular electrostimulation will demonstrate greater isometric strength than when they were tested without the device.
Embody Insertional Achilles Tendinopathy
Insertional Achilles TendinopathyThe primary objective of this study is to evaluate the long-term effects on ankle/Achilles tendon pain after repair of insertional Achilles tendinopathy (IAT) augmented with TAPESTRY Biointegrative Implant.
Influencing Factors of Acute Achilles Tendinopathy in Runners
Achilles TendinopathyAchilles tendinopathy is highly prevalent in runners, but its evolution is not easily predictable. The aim of this study is to evaluate the impact of clinical and social factors on the prognosis of acute (less than 3 months) Achilles tendinopathy in runners. Runners will be evaluated in person twice. At their first visit, data related to their training (frequency, intensity, …), their running pattern (cadence, foot contact angle) and shoes (minimalist index) will be collected. Moreover, an ultrasound evaluation of Achilles tendon will be performed. At one, two and three months after their initial evaluation, participants will receive a link to complete an online survey about their pain. Three months after their initial evaluation, a second ultrasound of Achilles tendon will be performed.
Ultrasound-guided Lavage of Calcific Deposits of the Rotator Cuff
Rotator Cuff TendinitisUltrasonography4 moreThe primary goal of the study is to assess ultrasonographic Power Doppler signals after ultrasound-guided puncture and lavage of rotator cuff calcific tendinitis of the shoulder. Secondary outcomes are sonographic features like the course of residual calcific material and the course of tendon healing als well as the clinical symptoms of the patient.
Natural History of Shoulder Pathology in Manual Wheelchair Users
ParaplegiaSpinal Cord Injuries2 moreOver 300,000 people in the United States have spinal cord injuries and many use manual wheelchairs for mobility. Most manual wheelchair users will develop shoulder injuries and pain that greatly affect quality of life and level of independence. Understanding when shoulder disease starts in manual wheelchair users and which daily activities contribute to the disease will provide necessary evidence for effective primary prevention methods to inhibit the development of further disability. Our central hypothesis is that the development of shoulder disease in manual wheelchair users will be strongly associated with the cumulative exposure to elevated shoulder postures combined with high upper body loading.
Efficacy of BFR Training Combined With Eccentric Exercise as Assessed by SWE in Subjects With Chronic...
Achilles TendinopathyThe purpose of this randomized controlled trial is to use Shear Wave Elastography (SWE) to assess Achilles tendinopathy and the effectiveness of Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) training in patients with Achilles tendinopathy as measured by Numeric Pain Rating Scale, functional self-report, and objective functional measures. SWE will be utilized to objectively quantify tendon properties and BFR training and eccentric exercise will be utilized to treat Achilles tendinopathy.
Effectiveness of Corticosteroid vs. Ketorolac Shoulder Injections: A Prospective Double-Blinded...
Full Thickness Rotator Cuff TearRotator Cuff TendinitisThe purpose of this study is to compare the functional outcomes of patients with shoulder pathology treated with either ketorolac or corticosteroid injections, in a randomized double-blinded study. Investigators will compare the effectiveness of ketorolac compared to corticosteroid. Specific Aim 1: Hypothesis 1: Injection of the shoulder (in the subacromial space) with Ketorolac will be more effective than corticosteroid injection for the treatment of a variety of shoulder pathologies. The risks associated with this study primarily concern adverse reactions to the study drugs. The drugs used in this study are not narcotics or habit-forming but can have side effects. The patient's physician will screen for any heart, intestinal, or kidney disease or condition that would increase the chance for the patient to have an unwanted side effect.
