OlanzapineCINV2 moreThis study aims to investigate the efficacy and safety of olanzapine combined with fosaprepitant, ondansetron and dexamethasone compared with placebo combined with fosaprepitant, ondansetron and dexamethasone in the prevention of nausea and vomiting in germ-cell tumors receiving 5-day cisplatin chemotherapy
Adjuvant Bleomycin, Etoposide and Cisplatin (BEP) Versus Carboplatin in Stage I Seminomatous Testicular...
Testicular NeoplasmsSeminomaOne course of adjuvant carboplatin AUC7 is considered internationally to be a standard treatment option in clinical stage I seminoma, regardless of risk factors. Treatment is based on a large, randomized phase III study comparing adjuvant carboplatin with adjuvant radiotherapy. This study was done without registering data on possible risk factor for relapse. The relapse rate following carboplatin was in this study estimated to be 5.3 %. Data from a prospective, risk-adapted Spanish study showed that patients without risk factors had a very low risk of relapse, even without adjuvant treatment. This result is also confirmed by a recent analysis of SWENOTECA VII data, showing that this group of patients has a risk of relapse of less than 5 % without adjuvant treatment. Combined data from SWENOTECA V and VII studies indicate a high risk of relapse in patients with one or two risk factors (tumor 4 cm, stromal invasion of rete testis) treated with one course of adjuvant carboplatin. The relapse rate in this group of patients was 9.4 %, indicating a very modest effect of one course of adjuvant carboplatin. If adjuvant chemotherapy is the preferred treatment strategy, more potent chemotherapy regimens should be explored in this patient group. The results from SWENOTECA III/VI studies with one course of cisplatin-based adjuvant chemotherapy in clinical stage I nonseminoma, show a very low rate of relapse. As seminoma is even more chemosensitive than nonseminoma the relapse rate following one course of adjuvant BEP is expected to be very low, close to 1 %. The overall aim is to investigate whether one course of adjuvant BEP have a lower relapse rate than one course of adjuvant carboplatin AUC7. In addition, it will be investigated if there is a difference in health related quality of life as well as acute and long-term toxicities from treatment.
CD30 CAR for CD30+ NSGCT
Germ Cell TumorNonseminomatous Germ Cell TumorThis is a phase 2 research study that enrolls adult subjects with Nonseminomatous Germ Cell Tumors (NSGCT). The purpose of this study is to create a repository and explore the presence of modified T cells in the subject's plasma or tumors. This study collects biospecimens (such as tumor tissue, blood, and modified T cells) that can be used in future research studies. The collected specimens can help to examine whether the modified T cells are present in the body and tumor. If the modified T cells are present in the body, and how long they last. They also will use the specimen to identify ways to improve treatment options for a future cancer patient. Research with blood, tissue, or body fluids (specimens) can help researchers understand how the human body works. Sometimes researchers collect and store specimens and use them for different kinds of research or share them with other scientists; this is called a specimen repository or "biobank." Research with biospecimens might help to introduce new tests to find diseases or new ways to treat diseases. The body has different ways of fighting infection and disease. No single way seems perfect for fighting cancer. This research study combines two different ways of fighting disease: antibodies and T cells. Antibodies are proteins that protect the body from disease caused by bacteria or toxic substances. Antibodies work by binding those bacteria or substances, which stops them from growing and causing bad effects. T cells, also called T lymphocytes, are special infection-fighting blood cells that can kill other cells, including tumor cells or cells that are infected. Both antibodies and T cells have been used to treat patients with cancers. They both have shown promise, but neither alone has been sufficient to cure most patients. This study is designed to combine both T cells and antibodies to create a more effective treatment called autologous T lymphocyte chimeric antigen receptor cells targeted against the CD30 antigen (ATLCAR.CD30) administration. Prior trials have shown the safety of ATLCAR.CD30 product was administered to subjects with lymphomas. This study was planned based on the safety and efficacy data from previous studies (NCT02690545 and NCT02917083).

Testis CAB: Cabazitaxel as Salvage Treatment for Cisplatin-resistant Germ Cell Cancer
Testicular CancerGerm cell tumors belong to the most chemosensitive malignancies. Paclitaxel in combination with ifosfamide and cisplatin (TIP) has become a common regimen for salvage treatment of germ cell cancer. Cabazitaxel may overcome resistance to docetaxel and paclitaxel and might have clinical activity in patients with metastatic and progressive germ cell tumors.

Senescence and the Early Ageing Phenotype After Chemotherapy for Testicular Cancer: the SEA-CAT...
Testicular CancerCisplatin-combination chemotherapy causes inevitably DNA damage by platinum-DNA adduct formation of both tumor cells but also healthy cells. It therefore stands to reason that testicular cancer treatment causes an increased burden of senescent cells, which causes upregulation of the SASP resulting in a pro-inflammatory phenotype. The investigators hypothesize that this may be an important mechanism behind development of late effects and an early ageing phenotype after treatment for testicular cancer.

The Effects of Acupuncture and the Therapist´s Communication on Chemotherapy Induced Nausea and...
Breast CancerColorectal Cancer4 moreBackground: Nausea and vomiting (emesis) is a common and burdensome side-effect of emetogenic chemotherapy. Emesis affects both the patient's quality of life and induces high costs within the health-care system. Many patients are interested in acupuncture, despite weak scrientific evidence for its effects beside non-specific effects. Few credibly sham-controlled studies have previously been conducted. The therapist's care and communication during acupuncture as well as during standard care may induce non-specific effects, such as placebo effects, potentially driven by the patient's expectations. It is not known if the type of communication, in terms of how positive the therapist communicates regarding expected effects, affects the effect of antiemetic treatments. Aims: To investigate if chemotherapy-induced emesis, treatment expectancy and quality of life differ between patients who receive A) standard care including antiemetics, B) standard care plus sham acupuncture or C) standard treatment plus genuine acupuncture by a therapist who emphasizes the positive expected outcomes of the treatment, compared to a therapist who communicates neutral regarding the expected outcomes. Procedure: The eligible patients will be randomized to A) standard care, including antiemetics or to B) standard treatment plus sham acupuncture or C) standard treatment plus genuine acupuncture. Within the three groups, the patients are randomized to receive either neutral or positive communication with the therapist during the treatment. Outcome measures: The primary outcome is intensity of nausea within the five days after the chemotherapy session in patients receiving positive or neutral communication. Data collection of nausea and vomiting, expectations, and quality of life is performed at baseline the day before the studied chemotherapy session, during 10 days after the studied chemotherapy session, and at a follow-up ten days after the last chemotherapy session.
Veliparib, Paclitaxel, and Carboplatin in Treating Patients With Solid Tumors That Are Metastatic...
Breast CarcinomaCarcinoma of Unknown Primary12 moreThis phase I trial studies the side effects and the best dose of veliparib when given together with paclitaxel and carboplatin in treating patients with solid tumors that are metastatic or cannot be removed by surgery and liver or kidney dysfunction. Veliparib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as paclitaxel and carboplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Giving veliparib together with paclitaxel and carboplatin may kill more tumor cells.
