Determination of Pronostics Factors for Advanced Thyroid Carcinoma (pT3 pT4 or M1 at Diagnosis)...

Thyroid Cancer

It is generally estimated that 5 % of patients with thyroid cancer will develop distant metastases, and most of them had an advanced stage of the disease at presentation. Thirty per cent of them are resistant to radio iodine therapy and are called "refractory". Their long term survival is estimated to be less than 10 %. The objective of this study is to identify the factors associated with poor outcome in a cohort of patients with advanced thyroid cancer followed during 5 years. Anaplastic and medullary thyroid carcinomas were excluded.

The Association of Costimulatory Molecules and PPAR-polymorphisms With Autoimmune Thyroid Disease...

AITd Patients With Different Polymorphisms

Autoimmune thyroid disease is the most common organ-specific autoimmune disease. AITD include Graves' disease and Hashimoto's thyroiditis. Although the pathogenesis of AITD remains unclear, it is generally thought that the mechanisms of the disease is a complex disease in which susceptibility genes and environmental triggers act in concert to initiate the autoimmune response to the thyroid. The initial step of thyroid autoimmunity is the activation of T cells. The activation of T cell requires two signals: firstly, thyroid follicular cells or antigen presenting cells binds to T cell receptor through antigenic HLA complex. Secondly, the activation of T cells is also required the interaction of costimulatory molecules between thyroid follicular cells and immune cells, including CTLA-4, CD 40, CD28, ICOS. PPAR- is a kind of intranuclear transcription factor, associated with adipogenesis and inflammation. Some reports showed that PPAR- polymorphism may have a protective effect from Graves' ophthalmopathy. The goal of the study is to investigate the relationship among SNP and mRNA of costimulatory molecules and PPAR- , serum cytokine including TNF- and sIL-2R, and clinical characteristics in AITD patients. From the study, we hope to clarify the role of costimulatory molecules and PPAR- polymorphism in AITD.

Diagnostic DNA Methylation Signature in Diagnosing Thyroid Cancer After Fine-Needle Aspiration in...

Thyroid Gland Nodule

This trial studies how well the diagnostic deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) methylation signature works in detecting thyroid cancer in patients with thyroid nodules. Using diagnostic testing, such as the diagnostic DNA methylation signature, may be a less invasive way to check for thyroid cancer.

Thyroid Dysfunction and Obstetric Complications

Pregnancy

Obstetric complications are common and can be responsible for maternal and foetal morbidity and mortality. Thyroid dysfunction has been identified as a possible cause of obstetric complications. Many studies have been conducted to estimate the prevalence and define the nature of obstetric complications observed in patients with thyroid dysfunction. However, women with obstetric complications are not systematically screened for thyroid dysfunction and no published study has evaluated the prevalence of thyroid dysfunction in women with an obstetric complication. As no consensus has been reached concerning systematic screening for thyroid dysfunction in pregnant women, the identification of new high-risk populations could possibly result in a change of clinical practice.

Liver, Pancreas and Thyroid Function in Burn Patients

BurnsLiver Fibroses2 more

The purpose of this study is to determine the extent to which severe burn injuries affect the morphology and function of liver, pancreas and thyroid. The evaluation of the liver will be performed non-invasively with liver fibrosis scores based on standard blood parameters and the measurement of liver stiffness (correlated with liver fibrosis) and controlled attenuation parameter (CAP, correlated with hepatic steatosis) via transient elastography (FibroScan©, Echosens SA, Paris, France). The thyroid and the pancreas will be assessed via ultrasound (GE Medical Systems, Waukesha, USA) and standard blood parameters, respectively.

Expanded Access of Cabozantinib in Medullary Thyroid Cancer

Medullary Thyroid Cancer

The objective of this study is to provide access to cabozantinib for eligible subjects with medullary thyroid cancer (MTC) pending approval of Exelixis' New Drug Application (NDA) by the FDA and commercial availability of cabozantinib.

Expanded Access for the Treatment of Cancers With Rearranged During Transfection (RET) Activation...

Non Small Cell Lung CancerMedullary Thyroid Cancer5 more

Expanded access for participants with cancer with RET activation who are ineligible for an ongoing selpercatinib (also known as LOXO-292) clinical trial or have other considerations that prevent access to selpercatinib through an existing clinical trial. The treating physician/investigator contacts Lilly when, based on their medical opinion, a patient meets the criteria for inclusion in the expanded access program.

Expanded Access Program With Lenvatinib for the Treatment of Differentiated Thyroid Cancer in Brazil...

Thyroid Cancer

This is an Expanded Access Program to make lenvatinib available to participants with radioiodine-refractory differentiated thyroid cancer in Brazil. Participants who have no other treatment options available, and who, in the opinion and clinical judgment of the treating physician, would benefit from treatment with lenvatinib will be enrolled. This is a multicenter, open-label program consisting of 2 phases: a 28-day pretreatment phase (including screening) and a treatment phase. Treatment will be provided as long as there is a clinical benefit based on tumor assessments performed according to the center's standard of care and the judgment of the participant's treating physician.
