Epidemiological Investigation of Sepsis in Obstetrics Admitted to ICU

Maternal SepsisIntensive Care Units2 more

Sepsis is still the main cause of maternal death, accounting for 11% of maternal deaths. Early identification of high risk factors of sepsis and early intervention can improve the prognosis of pregnant women with sepsis. At present, there is no epidemiological investigation report on sepsis in ICU in China.

Evaluation of the Performance of Sepsis Predictive Scores on the Elderly Population in the Emergency...

Sepsis

The main objective of the research is to evaluate the prognostic performance of qSOFA, NEWS and MEDS scores in patients over 65 years of age presenting to the emergency department with a diagnosis of infection made by the emergency physician in charge. The main judgment criterion is intra-hospital mortality. Secondary criteria for judgement are admission to intensive care or intensive care (continuous monitoring unit), length of hospital stay, length of stay in the emergency room, length of time before antibiotic therapy is administered. A comparison of score performance will be carried out between the population aged over 65 years old and the rest of the population.

The Early Coagulopathy for the Prognosis in Sepsis

SepsisCoagulopathy2 more

In this cohort study, the parameters (TM, TAT, PIC, tPAIC, et al.) associated with the hemostatic system will be collected in sepsis patients when admitted to the Intensive Critical Unit. Parameters will be evaluated for their prognostic function of 28 days mortality.

Blood Markers for Identifying & Investigating Infection With COVID19 & Sepsis in Children.

Covid19Sepsis

Corona Virus Disease or COVID-19 is caused by SARS-CoV-2 virus. There have been reports of serious COVID-19 illness in children. In addition it has been linked to clusters of children presenting with high fevers and inflammation. Sepsis, also called blood poisoning, is an abnormal response of the body to some infections. We aim to conduct research in children under 18 admitted to intensive care unit. Using a systems approach towards mapping the body's immune and metabolic responses to COVID-19 or related illnesses and compare with other sepsis like illnesses.

Sepsis Prediction by Monocyte Distribution Width and Procalcitonin

SepsisDiagnoses Disease

The mortality rate of sepsis remains as high as 30 to 40%. Early diagnosis and treatment of patients with sepsis reduce mortality significantly. The most commonly used biomarkers in clinical practice are C-reactive protein (CRP) and procalcitonin (PCT). In terms of exploring new diagnostic tools of sepsis, monocyte distribution width (MDW) was first reported in 2017. It was reported as part of the white blood cell (WBC) differential count. MDW greater than 20 and abnormal WBC count together were reported to provide a satisfactory accuracy. The area under curve (AUC) in predicting sepsis-2 is 0.852. It was proposed as a novel diagnostic tool of sepsis in the emergency setting. Nonetheless, the performance of MDW compared with the conventional biomarkers remained unknown. The aim of this study was to compare the diagnostic accuracy of MDW and PCT on sepsis in the emergency department.

The Benefits of Early Initiation of Continual Renal Replacement Therapy in Patients With Severe...

Severe Sepsis

The study will evaluate the benefit of early initiation of CRRT in the initial phase of severe sepsis in patients admitted to the ICU. Primary evaluated end-point is 28-day mortality. Secondarily evaluated end-point is length of ICU-stay, length of stay in hospital, duration of mechanical ventilation. There are two groups. One group of participants with early CRRT initiation and another group with late CRRT initiation. Reference group no CRRT.

qSOFA in General Wards: the Accuracy in Diagnosis of Sepsis

Sepsis

The new definition of sepsis (sepsis 3.0) restricts the early diagnosis of sepsis in general wards. Despite an alternative process by using a simplified qSOFA score, many patients may still be left out. Whether these patients matter or not is unknown. This prospective cohort includes patients from ten general wards with high incidence of infection during a consecutive half year, obtains qSOFA and SOFA score, follows up prognostic data, therefore to compare patients under different groups, eventually to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of qSOFA score in diagnosis of sepsis.

Investigation of The Prevalence of Sepsis in Adults in Multicenter Intensive Care Unıts in Turkey...

Sepsis

The pathophysiology and treatment of sepsis disease are still not fully known. International guides often refer to the studies done in the developed countries and suggest some treatments. The infrastructure of the developing countries is quite different. For this reason, it is not exactly scientific how much these proposals are reflected in patient treatment. In our study, We will try to reveal the treatment of sepsis.

MiRNAs Evaluate the Prognosis of Sepsis by Dynamic Study

Sepsis

Sepsis is a common cause of death in intensive care unit, timely and accurate diagnosis and treatment directly affect the survival rate. MiRNA is a post-transcriptional small RNA which regulate mRNA expression. The present study was designed to observe the selected miRNA expression which evaluate the sepsis prognosis in the progression of sepsis in order to be a new target for the treatment of sepsis.
