Comparison of a Novel Wound Dressing Stratamed Versus Current Clinical Practice After Follicular...

Wounds and Injuries

Follicular donor sites on the scalp for hair transplantation will be treated with studied products post harvest. A randomized side of the scalp will be treated with Stratamed, the other side with standard clinical practice. Subjects will be assessed live immediately post treatment and in 2 sessions during the healing phase post harvest. Subjects will also complete subject reported outcome questionnaires at home between study visits.

Risk Factors and Machine Learning Model for Proton Pump Inhibitor Related Acute Kidney Injury

Proton Pump InhibitorAcute Kidney Injury

Recent evidence concerns acute kidney injury (AKI) following proton pump inhibitor (PPI) application. Few actual studies have compared the incidence, risk factors, and predictive models of AKI associated with PPI. The present study was a single-center retrospective study. The researchers retrospectively analyzed data from patients who received PPI medications between January 2018 and December 2020. PPI drugs included omeprazole, esomeprazole, rabeprazole, and pantoprazole. The primary outcome of the study was AKI, as defined by kidney disease: improving global outcomes (KDIGO). Secondary outcomes included length of hospital stay, hospital costs, and continuous renal replacement therapy. Independent risk factors associated with AKI were identified by univariate analysis and multifactorial logistic regression analysis (P < 0.05). Logistic regression models were constructed based on the variables obtained from the analysis. Internal validation of the model was performed by the ten-fold cross-validation method. Model discriminatory power was assessed by the area under the curve (AUC) of the receiver operating characteristic curve (ROC). The study aims to develop a PPI-related AKI prediction model based on an electronic medical record system that can be used to predict AKI in hospitalized patients and contribute to the early prevention, diagnosis and treatment of AKI, ultimately reducing morbidity and improving prognosis.

Chronic Kidney Disease and Myocardial Injury After Non Cardiac Surgery

Myocardial InjurySurgery1 more

Investigators will conduct a retrospective chart review, examining the impact of chronic kidney disease on risk of myocardial injury after non cardiac surgery (MINS). The objective of this study is to examine interactions between preoperative Estimated Glomerular Filtration Rate (eGFR) and the association between preoperative N-Terminal Pro B-Type Natriuretic Peptide (NT-proBNP) and post operative cardiac events in patients undergoing major non cardiac surgery.

Epidemiology of Injuries During Crossfit Practice

Sport Injury

This study aims to precisely describe epidemiology of injuries than occur during practice of crossfit. Each participant will complete questionnaires in order to identify injuries. The first questionnaire will be completed at the moment of the inclusion and the second questionnaire will be completed if participant has injuries every 3 months until month 12.

Acute and Mild TBI Injury in Military and Civilian Population Using Advanced MR Imaging

Mild Traumatic Brain Injury

This is a prospective longitudinal study of patients with acute mTBI and comparison with chronic mTBI patients and a cohort without history of TBI or none within 5 years of enrollment. The patients will be recruited from the eligible population at military medical centers in the National Capital Region.

Head and Intraocular Trauma Tool for the Identification of Mild Traumatic Brain Injury

Brain InjuriesTraumatic

Rebion has developed a device, the Rebion trauma tool (referred to as the head and intraocular trauma tool, or "HITT"), that detects ocular fixation and alignment using a binocular retinal scan. Preliminary data obtained from hospitalized patients with a clinically-confirmed traumatic brain injury (TBI) and uninjured controls indicates that the device can detect changes in ocular fixation, alignment, and saccades that are related to brain injury. This study seeks to evaluate the ability of the Rebion trauma tool to assess perturbations in eye movements resulting from TBI. The study will enroll 100 TBI patients and 100 controls.
