The study aims to evaluate the impact of social distancing measures on post-metabolic surgery patients compare to non-surgical obese patients and discuss potential strategies for management post COVID-19.

The aim of this observational prospective monocentric study is to examine glycemic patterns in adult T2D patients candidates to bariatric surgery, by using a continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) sensor over 14 days post-surgery, in order to search for indicators predicting T2D remission 1 year after surgery.

The goal of this observational study is to validate existing non-invasive diabetes clinical prediction models in a Swedish population. The main question it aims to answer is: how well 11 existing models will perform in predicting incident type 2 diabetes in participants from the Västerbotten Intervention programme (VIP). Participants in VIP are residents of Västerbotten that are invited for a comprehensive health screening at 30- (until 1995), 40-, 50-, and 60-years of age.

The Investigators will generate a repository of human biosamples across therapeutic areas that will be used to identify disease-associated biomarkers and potential targets with immune and multi-omics profiling. This sample collection and analysis from people living with type 2 diabetes, or chronic or diabetic kidney disease will lay the groundwork for an extensive network of biosample access and linked datasets that will provide an invaluable resource for translational research.
