ADAPT Adacolumn Pediatric Trial in Ulcerative Colitis
Ulcerative ColitisChildren aged up to 18 years with moderately active Ulcerative Colitis (PUCAI:35-64) will receive one weekly Adacolumn® apheresis treatment over 5 consecutive weeks, followed by up to 3 optional Adacolumn® apheresis treatments over 3 consecutive weeks. Primary end point is PUCAI at Week 12. The main part of the clinical investigation will be continued by a one year follow up for responders.

Soluble Beta-glucan (SBG) as Treatment for Diabetic Foot Ulcers
Chronic Diabetic Foot UlcersThe purpose of this study is to determine whether the application of soluble beta-glucan (SBG) onto diabetic foot ulcers improves the healing of the ulcers.

Trial of Oral Versus Intravenous Proton Pump Inhibitor on Intragastric pH in Patients With Bleeding...
Peptic Ulcer HemorrhagePatients with bleeding ulcers identified by endoscopy will be randomly assigned to receive an acid-blocking drug (called a proton pump inhibitor [PPI]) either by mouth every 3 hours for 24 hours or intravenously (IV) by constant infusion for 24 hours. A pH probe in the stomach will be used to determine intragastric pH (a measure of the acid production in the stomach) at baseline and during the 24 hours of therapy. The purpose of the study is to determine if the continuous intravenous administration of the drug provides better reduction of acid in the stomach than the oral administration.

Peptic Ulcer Perforation Study
Peptic Ulcer PerforationThe objective of this study is to implement an optimized perioperative course for patients surgically treated for peptic ulcer perforation in order to improve the outcome for these patients. The optimized perioperative course consists of a number of interventions carried out before, during and after surgery.

BION Active Seating for Pressure Ulcer Prevention
Pressure UlcerPressure ulcers (PUs) are a debilitating pathology resulting from pressure and shear in the soft tissues of immobilized patients. In studies to date, BION neuromuscular stimulation has been demonstrated to activate strong muscle contractions and to produce skeletal motion, with associated increases in muscle bulk (hypertrophy), strength, and metabolic capacity, hence counteracting the 3 major etiological factors in PU development (immobility, soft-tissue atrophy and hypoxia). This study intends to use neuromuscular stimulation to both shift paralyzed subjects' weight and build up gluteal muscle volume, in order to prevent recurrence of pressure ulcers. We will implant BIONs alongside the already exposed inferior gluteal and sciatic nerves in patients who are undergoing gluteal rotation flap surgery for PU reconstruction. The gluteal rotation flap is a common reconstructive technique for treating PUs by bringing healthy muscle and skin in to repair the deficient area, and to provide healthy tissue covering over bony prominences. The implanted BIONs will enable us subsequently to stimulate the gluteus maximus and hip extensor muscles. Outcome measures will include tissue health variables (measured by clinical assessment, X-Rays, MRI and Sesta-MIBI SPECT perfusion scans), pressure redistribution (measured by an array of pressure sensors), and recurrence rates over 12 months.

Ability to Maintain or Achieve Clinical and Endoscopic Remission With MMX Mesalamine Once Daily...
Ulcerative ColitisThis study was designed to evaluate if subjects who achieve complete remission after 8 weeks of acute therapy with MMX mesalamine/mesalazine 4.8g/day given QD have better long-term outcomes and remain in remission longer compared with subjects who demonstrate only partial remission after acute therapy with MMX mesalamine/mesalazine 4.8g/day given QD. Therefore, subjects who achieve either complete or partial remission will enter into a 12-month maintenance phase, during which they will receive MMX mesalamine/mesalazine 2.4g/day given QD. Remission status for the 2 groups will be evaluated and compared at the end of this 12-month maintenance period. The data obtained from this study will provide scientifically meaningful information to demonstrate that achieving complete remission (clinical and endoscopic remission) is important for a better long-term prognosis, or that the current paradigm of symptomatic treatment is appropriate.

Randomized Controlled 8-Week Crossover Evaluation of Compression Bandage Systems for Venous Leg...
Venous UlcerThe purpose of this study is to evaluate the product performance of a new 2-layer compression bandage for the treatment of venous leg ulcers.

Efficacy Of CACIPLIQ20 On Diabetic Ulcers In Patients Wearing An Nonremovable, Windowed, Fiberglass...
Foot UlcerDiabetes Mellitus1 moreCACIPLIQ20 is a nanopolymer engineered to mimic glycosaminoglycans such as heparan sulfates. Glycosaminoglycans are implied 1) in the stabilization of the micro-environment of cells, known as extracellular matrix, by binding to structural proteins, and 2) in the cell communication by protecting growth factors. At the site of a lesion, glycosaminoglycans are degraded, thereby the extracellular matrix is disorganized and the tissue is destroyed. By replacing damaged glycosaminoglycans, CACIPLIQ20 provides a protective function and restores the matrix architecture and the cell communication, a process known as Matrix Therapy. As for now, three non-controlled pilot studies have been carried out on small populations. They have shown a substantial enhancement of chronic wounds state after treatment with CACIPLIQ20. Therefore, the purpose of this new controlled study is to determine whether CACIPLIQ20 can shorten diabetic neuropathic plantar ulcers healing when the off-loading is mandatory. The study's main hypothesis is that CACIPLIQ20 application on a non-healing diabetic plantar ulcer in an off-loading mandatory context would reinitiate the natural process of tissue regeneration and lead to total wound closure faster than following standard wound care.

Autologous Platelets Rich Plasma (APRP) Treatment Vs Saline Dressing for the Management of Diabetic...
Diabetic Foot UlcerThe aim of this study is to compare between the platelet rich plasma and normal saline dressing in the healing diabetic foot ulcers. It will be a randomized controlled trial.
