Inflammatory Bowel DiseasesColitis2 moreThe purpose of this study is to determine if a relationship exists between Week 6 vedolizumab therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) and Week 30 Faecal calprotectin (FCP).

Inflammatory Bowel Disease in South Eastern Norway
ColitisUlcerative2 moreThe IBSEN III study will investigate the incidence of inflammatory bowel disease in South Eastern Norway and describe the clinical course of the disease. The investigators will map newly diagnosed and treatment naive IBD patients at various levels (epidemiological, clinical, psychosocial and nutritional as well as immunological, genetic, epigenetic and microbial) as a basis to improve targeted and individualized treatment and care. The investigators will include incident IBD patients at all local- and university hospitals in the South Eastern Health Region in 2016-2018 and follow-up prospectively for five years. The investigators will use standardized and validated registration methods allowing comparability with previous national and international IBD cohorts, link data to national health registries and collect blood, feces and biopsies for bio banking.

MRI in Normal Ileal Pouches, and a Feasibility Study of Dynamic MRI Enema and Defaecating MRI Pouchography...
ColitisUlcerative1 moreA study to investigate the prevalence of pelvic collections in a representative sample of participants with normally functioning ileal pouches. It also aims to establish the feasibility and reporting variables for dynamic MRI enemas in ileal pouches and defaecating enema pouchography.

Mesalamine and Reproductive Health Study
Colitis UlcerativeCrohn DiseaseThe purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship of high exposure to dibutyl phthalate (DBP) from the use of Asacol with clinical and intermediate markers of male fertility, including semen quality, sperm DNA damage, transcript profiles of sperm mRNA and sncRNAs, and reproductive hormones. Hypothesis 1: High exposure to DBP from the use of Asacol is associated with decreased sperm concentration and motility, and increased sperm DNA damage. Hypothesis 2: High exposure to DBP from the use of Asacol is associated with decreased serum testosterone, altered LH:testosterone ratio, and decreased inhibin-B. Hypothesis 3: High exposure to DBP from the use of Asacol is associated with altered transcript profiles of sperm mRNAs and sncRNAs.

Ulcerative ColitisThe purpose of this study is to assess an iPhone application to increase adherence to maintenance medications in subjects with ulcerative colitis.

Thermography in Surveillance of Ulcerative Colitis
Ulcerative ColitisUlcerative colitis represents a chronic condition occurring in relapsing and remitting fashion with uncertain outcome and requires lifelong treatment with considerable side effects. Diagnostic methods currently in use, clinical (endoscopy), imaging (CT, MR) or laboratory (C - reactive protein, fecal calprotectin) give an insight into disease activity but are possibly associated with significant discomfort for the patient and / or increased risk of irradiation and potential allergic reactions on contrast agents. For that reason there is a need for a noninvasive, biologically inert method for evaluation of disease activity in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Thermography possesses most of these characteristics. The aim of this study is to find potential link between pathological thermographic signs and endoscopic findings, serum C reactive protein (CRP) and calprotectin in the stool of patients with active and extensive ulcerative colitis.
