The goal of this study is to assess the feasibility and acceptability to community-dwelling older adults of implementing a precise prescription of oral nutritional supplementation (the SPOONful intervention).

This is a pragmatic randomized controlled trial (pRCT) that aims to test the effect of produce provision, diabetes education, and community referrals on hemoglobin A1c levels in individuals with type 2 diabetes experiencing food insecurity.

Malnutrition and inappropriate prescribing of renally excreted drugs are common among older persons and are associated with severe consequences such as complicated courses of treatment, mortality, and reduced quality of life. The overall purpose of CanPan is to optimize treatment of older persons with malnutrition with a focus on appetite stimulation and optimized prescribing of renal risk drugs. The CanPan trial consists of two sub-studies. Substudy 1 will provide knowledge on appetite and appetite stimulation and together, sub study 1 and 2 will offer unique knowledge on how body composition, renal function and biomarkers of organ function influence pharmacokinetics for a highly lipophilic (Sativex®) and hydrophilic (Hexamycin®) drug in older medical patients with malnutrition.

This is a multicenter, randomized controlled, phase III clinical trial. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of standard nutrition treatment versus conventional nutrition treatment in local advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients.

Protein-energy wasting (PEW), a hypercatabolic state characterized by loss of muscle mass and fuel reserves, is highly prevalent in hemodialysis patients. Nutritional status and body composition are closely linked to morbidity, mortality and quality of life. Lean tissue mass (LTM) appears to be the best read-out for the association between nutritional status and outcomes. Intradialytic parenteral nutrition (IDPN) is occasionally used with the aim to reduce loss of LTM, but its efficacy has not been established. The goal of this study is to study the effect of IDPN on changes in LTM in hemodialysis patients.

Malnutrition significantly contributes to the disability and mortality associated with Alzheimer's disease and Alzheimer's disease-related dementias. Thus, nutritional status is one important, modifiable clinical factor for maintaining physical and cognitive health among persons with dementia (PWD). This project will pilot an innovative approach to enhancing nutrition through the use of transitional-state snack supplements, or foods that start as one texture and change to another. Specifically, this study aims to demonstrate the feasibility, acceptability, and safety of a transitional-state therapeutic nutrition supplement among adults with dementia. The central hypothesis is that access to ready-made, savory, nutrient- dense snack supplements that resemble "typical" preferred foods and eating habits will result in improved nutritional intake and status among PWD.

This study is to compare the sustained post-discharge nutritional support to reach individual energy and protein goals to usual care home nutrition in medical patients at nutritional risk.

Oxidative stress can affect the balance of intestinal flora and intestinal structure of patients, resulting in intestinal flora disorder. Its bacterial metabolites stimulate the parasympathetic nerve, regulate insulin secretion and other metabolic pathways of patients through neuroendocrine regulation, resulting in abnormal energy metabolism of lipids and sugars in the digestive tract, and finally lead to malnutrition.We hypothesized that fecal bacteria transplantation could reconstruct the normal intestinal flora, restore the intestinal digestion and absorption function of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease（COPD）patients and improve the state of malnutrition.

Malnutrition is common in surgical patients. Many studies have shown a clear association between malnutrition and poor surgical outcomes. Parenteral nutrition (PN) is a nutrition intervention that is given by vein and can be safely provided to malnourished patients. It contains carbohydrates, fats, and protein just like you would normally in your diet. Pre-operative PN is able to improve outcomes in surgical patients. However, pre-operative PN has traditionally required hospital admission which results in increased length of stay, hospital cost, and hospital-acquired infection. Moreover, in hospital pre-operative PN may not be feasible or prioritized when access to inpatient surgery beds is limited. Outpatient PN provides the opportunity to solve this problem. The feasibility and impact of outpatient PN in malnourished patients undergoing major surgery have not previously been studied. This study aims to evaluate the feasibility of outpatient pre-operative PN and its effect on patient's outcomes.

To explore the efficacy of a 12-week resistance exercise programme plus or minus an oral nutritional supplement on the nutritional status of community-dwelling older adults who receive homecare and are at risk of both malnutrition and sarcopenia.
