Interest of a Visual Scale for Evaluating Food Portions as a Screening Tool for Nutritional Risk...
UndernutritionIn current practice, there are various nutritional risk scores and diagnostic tools which are used in both inpatient and outpatient settings, however, in some cases, these tools cannot be used due to lack of data. That's why a tool that doesn't require any anthropometric parameters, such as a visual food intake scale, could be useful to for medical and paramedical staff. In this way, a larger proportion of the paediatric population could benefit from nutritional screening.

A Study of an Oral Nutritional Supplement in a Malnourished Population With GI Tolerance Impairment...
MalnutritionThe purpose is to observe the compliance to a high-calorie, high protein peptide-based nutritional supplement after 3 months in a malnourished population with impaired gastrointestinal tolerance living in nursing homes and as outpatients.

Impact of a Nutrition Quality Improvement Program on Outcomes of Malnourished Patients
MalnutritionA nutrition-focused QIP will be implemented as standard of care at select branches of the home health division of the health care system. The QIP will be comprised of three groups of patients, Group 1 will consist of hospitalized, at-risk/malnourished patients being discharged to home health, Group 2 will consist of outpatients at-risk/malnourished patients enrolled in home health and Group 3 will consist of SNF, at-risk/malnourished patients being discharged to home health. Groups will be followed for 90 days post enrollment. The QIP groups will be compared to historical controls, concurrent controls, and matched concurrent controls across other sites within the health system.

SAM: Discharge Based on the Use of a MUAC-based Criterion to
Severe Acute MalnutritionRetrospective analysis of routine program data of children aged 6 to 59 months admitted to the MSF therapeutic feeding program with MUAC ≤ 118 mm in Yako and Titao districts of Burkina Faso from 2007-2011.

Using Exhaled Air to Determine Changes in Nutritional Status of Patients on Intravenous Nutrition...
ObesityMalnourished1 moreCarbon-12 and carbon-13 are naturally-occurring isotopes that are found in exhaled breath. Investigators have proved that the 13CO2/12CO2 breath delta value (BDV) changes in subjects who were in negative energy balance then fed a positive energy balance meal. Measuring one liter of exhaled breath daily may be a more convenient way to measure negative or positive energy balance in patients receiving intravenous nutrition.

Assessment of the Nutritional Status of Children and Adolescents With Malignancies
MalnutritionThe main objective of this study was the assessment of the nutritional status of children and adolescents aged between 0-18 with malignancies based on BMI percentiles and standard deviation scores, at diagnosis, during treatment and during a period of two years after the end of therapy.

Malnutrition in Chinese Hospitalized Patients and Optimizing the Usage of Nutritional Screening...
MalnutritionThe purpose of this study is: to diagnose malnutrition in Chinese hospitalized patients with four nutritional screening tools: mini-nutritional assessment - short form, subjective global assessment, malnutrition universal screening tool and nutritional risk screening 2002. to optimize the usage of nutritional screening tools based on data-mining methods.

Evaluation Report of the Urea / Urine Creatinine as a Marker of Nutritional Status Predictive of...
Brain InjuryMalnutritionMalnutrition is defined by an energy supply deficit, protein, macro-molecules or micro-nutrients, resulting from an imbalance between nutrient intakes and metabolic needs of the body. It concerns 40 to 60% of patients upon entry into resuscitation and influences their prognosis. Studies over the past decade have shown that nutritional deficiency increases the morbidity and mortality in intensive care. Several clinical and biological parameters were evaluated as markers of malnutrition, including the ratio of urea / urine creatinine. The report would identify patients in a state of malnutrition, to optimize their nutritional care. This setting is easy to obtain in all patients by simple urine collection unlike other clinical and biological criteria of resuscitation malnutrition assessment. This ratio of urea / urien creatinine would optimize energy intake of critically ill patients, for which nutritional management methods are widely debated.

Nutritional Intakes in Burn Patients Treated as Outpatients
BurnsNutritional DeficiencyNutrition is a key component of burn care. The primary goal of nutrition is to provide adequate supply in macro and micronutrients that are necessary to maintain organ function but also to wound healing, infection control and muscle preservation. Studies about nutrition and burn care are mainly focused on severe burn patients. There is a few or no data regarding nutrition in minor burns. Those patients rarely receive a multidisciplinary approach, at least in Belgium. The present study aimed to describe the nutritional condition of less severe burn patients treated as outpatients in a Belgian burn center. The ultimate goal was to determine whether this population needs specific dietetics follow-up or not.

Evaluation of the SARC-F Score as a Screening Tool for Undernutrition in a Geriatric Population...
SarcopeniaDenutritionTo study the relationship between sarcopenia and undernutrition in adult patients over 70 years of age, and at the same time to define a threshold value for the predictive SARC-F score of undernutrition. Hypothesis : the SARC-F score is correlated with malnutrition defined according to the following HAS criteria : Moderate denutrition Severe denutrition
