MedlinePlus Health Prescriptions: Developing a Pragmatic Approach for Clinic Use
Acne VulgarisAllergic Rhinitis35 moreThe specific aim of this proposed pilot study is to compare two standardized processes (paper and electronic) to deliver a customized MedlinePlus health information prescription.
Clinical Study Of Migraine Evolution
Migraine HeadacheUnderstanding the speed at which migraine headaches develop is of importance to patients. Determining the proportions in which different headache pain build-up occurs, may provide health care practitioners with valuable information with which to prescribe the most appropriate treatment. Patients who experience a slow pain build-up may gain more benefit from medications which have a slow onset of effect, high tolerability and long action. Conversely, medications with a rapid onset of effect may be of greater benefit to patients who experience rapid onset of migraine pain.
Headache in Undergraduate Students and Biopsychosocial Status
Headache DisordersPrimary4 moreThe primary aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of headache in undergraduate students. The frequency, duration, localizations and symptoms of headache will be determined with the information obtained as a result of the forms filled in by the participants. The second aim of this study is to examine the effects of headache on physical, social and psychological status in undergraduate student(participants) from a biopsychosocial perspective.
Observational Prospective Study on the Presence of Typical Migraine Features in Nummular Headache...
Nummular HeadacheMigraine2 moreObservational analytic study with prospective cohort design that aim to describe the presence of typical features of migraine in a cohort of nummular headache patients. The aim of the study is to analyze family history, epidemiology, clinical description, presence of prodromes, postdromes and response to treatment.
Multiomics After Headache Provocation of People Who Are Unable to Have Headache
HeadacheHealthyHeadaches are extremely common illnesses with a combined lifetime prevalence of 90-99% in Europe. Despite this high prevalence, there are persons who have never, in their whole life, encountered a headache. The aim of the study is to identify factors that protect against headache by studying multiomics in people who never have had a headache (headache resistant) versus non-resistant controls. The investigators will measure multiomic changes (transcriptomics and metabolomics) after headache provocation with isosorbide mononitrate. 3 blood samples, two for RNA and one for metabolomics are taken right before administration of isosorbide mononitrate, 3 hours after administration of isosorbide mononitrate and again 5 hours after administration of isosorbide mononitrate. The investigators hope to contribute with novelty to the current understanding of headache pathophysiology and development of more efficient treatment of headache.
Trigeminal Brainstem Mapping
Headache DisordersPrimary1 moreTo what extent the somatotopy of the 3 branches of the trigeminal nerve (V1,V2,V3) as well as the greater occipital nerve (GON) in the brainstem but also in the thalamus and the insula can be mapped using functional imaging and BOLD in humans is not known but might play an important role in imaging headache diseases. The aim is to map their somatotopy by random stimulation of V1, V2, V3 and the GON with painful electrical input during acquisition of BOLD-fMRI.
Oxygen Therapy for Headache
Primary Headache DisorderHeadache is one of the common causes of emergency department admissions and constitutes approximately 2%. Although the exact mechanism is not clear, It is known that high-flow oxygen therapy is effective in headache treatment. There are limited studies related to the use of oxygen therapy in headaches and its derivatives in the literature. In this study, the investigators aimed to compare the high and medium flow oxygen therapies with placebo in primary headache disorders.
Temporamandibular Joint Functions and Parafunctional Habits
HeadacheTemporomandibular DisorderHeadache is the most common type of pain in children and adolescents with effects on health-related quality of life (HrQoL), school attendance, and social functioning. The International Headache Society recognizes that secondary headaches can be attributed to temporamandibular joint (TMJ) problems. The primary aim of the study is to evaluate temporamandibular joint functions and parafunctional habits in adolescents with headache. The second aim is to examine the relationship between temporamandibular joint functions and parafunctional habits and headache.
Evaluation of an Integrated Care Project
AsthmaAllergic Rhinitis4 moreThe purpose of the study is to investigate the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of the integrated care program of a statutory health insurance offering additional homeopathic treatment to their members
Prostaglandin F2alpha in a Human Headache Model
HeadacheThe hypothesis of this study is that PGF2alpha does not induce headache or dilatation of brain vessels.
