Sleep Signal Analysis for Current Major Depressive Episode (SAMDE)
Depressive EpisodeDepression4 moreThe objective of this study is to collect data to finalize the development of MEB-001 softward as a medical device. The data collected in this study will be used to develop MEB-001 machine learning algorithms by training the algorithms to match the patient's demographic and clinical information, and the objective physiological signals (i.e., electroencephalogram (EEG) and electrocardiogram (ECG)) recorded during PSG with the diagnosis of cMDE performed through the MINI neuropsychiatric evaluation.

Prediction on the Recurrence of Manic and Depressive Episodes in Bipolar Disorder
Bipolar DisorderDepressive DisorderMood disorders (including bipolar disorder and major depressive disorder) are chronic mental disorders with high recurrent rate. The more the number of recurrence is, the worse long-term prognosis is. This study aims to establish a prediction model of recurrence of manic and depressive episodes in mood disorders, with a hope to detect recurrence relapse as early as possible for timely clinical intervention. We will adopt wearable smart watch to collect heart rate, sleep pattern, activity level, as well as emotional status for one year long in 100 patients with bipolar disorder, and annotated their mood status (i.e., manic episode, depressive episode, and euthymic state). We expect to establish prediction models to predict the recurrence of mood episodes.

Stress, Anxiety, and Mood Group Therapy
Depressive DisordersAnxiety DisordersThe purpose of this study is to identify cognitive mechanisms that might facilitate treatment response for individuals experiencing depression and/or anxiety. The Stress, Anxiety, and Mood group helps individuals experiencing symptoms of stress, anxiety, and mood by providing concrete coping skills to regulate emotions, to let go of negative thoughts, and build courage to talk to others about tough topics. Groups meet for 8 weeks, with sessions lasting 90 minutes each. In addition to group therapy, you will be asked to complete some computerized and paper and pencil-based tasks. A Registration Study on Depression in Patients With Epilepsy
EpilepsyDepressionThe aim of this study is to register the drug treatment of depression in patients with epilepsy in East China.

Imaging mGluR5 and Synaptic Density in Psychiatric Disorders
Major Depressive DisorderBipolar Disorder1 moreThis research study is designed to look at the involvement of the glutamate system and synaptic density in depression and bipolar disorder. Each participant will undergo a screening appointment to determine study eligibility. Thereafter, the study will take 2 or 3 visits depending on schedule availability and will consist of a combination of one magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) or functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) scan, one proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) and/or one C13 MRS scans, and up to two positron emission tomography (PET) scans. Participants will also participate in cognitive testing. Depending on camera time, staff availability and subject schedule, total study participation may last 1-2 months.

The Effect of Peripartum Magnesium Sulfate Use on the Occurrence of Postpartum Depression
Postpartum DepressionThis is an observational study that will be conducted on pregnant women under vaginal delivery or cesarean section. The magnesium sulfate will be given to appropriate participants with a protocol that obstetrician are already using in our hospital. After delivery, participants are asked to answer sequential questionnaires to assess postpartum depression.

Prevalence and Risk Factors of Anxiety and Depression Among Policemen During the Health Crisis Linked...
COVID-19Anxiety Syndrome2 moreTo date, there is little international data on depression and anxiety among police officers apart from studies carried out after an attack or natural disaster. At the national level, no mental health data exists for police officers, apart from those from the Paris attacks, and the work of investigators after the Strasbourg attack (article in press). During the covid crisis, in Alsace, the police, like the rest of the population, took the full brunt of the pandemic. The police, however, are part of essential professions and have not been confined, but on the contrary, have remained in contact with the population, in particular to carry out traffic controls. Studies published to date show varying mental health outcomes for essential occupations during the pandemic. The investigators hypothesize that the police officers had a feeling of being more exposed and that their mental health could be affected. For this it was decided to compare two populations of departments of similar size, but with different exposure to the pandemic: Bas Rhin and Hérault French departments

A Longitudinal Study of Inflammatory Pathways in Depression
Major Depressive DisorderSuicide1 moreSuicide accounts for at least 1 million deaths globally each year. This is likely a significant underestimate, because suicide is under-reported in many countries. In the US, over 42,000 people die from suicide annually. Despite increased focus on identification and treatment, the rate of suicide has increased steadily over the past 15 years. Our project aims both to improve our understanding of factors that increase the risk for suicide by comparing blood biomarkers associated with inflammation in patients with depression without suicidal behavior and patients with depression and suicidal behavior. The 160 individuals in this study will be followed with psychiatric assessments and blood samples at repeated time points over one year.

Latino Teen Depression Treatment Study
DepressionDespite experiencing higher rates of depressive symptoms (Center for Disease Control and Prevention, 2020) and similar rates of Major Depressive Disorder (MDD; Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), 2019), Latino adolescents in the U.S. are significantly less likely than their non-Latino White peers to receive treatment for MDD (SAMHSA, 2019). The purpose of this study is to identify a stakeholder-preferred implementation strategy that may improve psychotherapy attendance among Latino adolescents. Latino adolescent-parent dyads and healthcare providers will be recruited from healthcare settings and social media. Focus groups will be conducted with healthcare providers (n=5), and individual interviews will be conducted with Latino adolescents with a diagnosis of depression (n=15) and their parents (n=15).

EEG Alterations of Uterine Contractions in the First Stage of Labor Predicting Postpartum Depression...
Postpartum DepressionSevere uterine contractions in labor can trigger emotional disorders including postpartum depression in women during the puerperium. Numerous studies have shown that resting frontal electroencephalogram (EEG) asymmetry is closely related to depression. Therefore, the investigators hypothesize that the frontal alpha asymmetry in EEG during uterine contractions in the first stage of labor be associated with the risk level of postpartum depression. The objective of this research is to investigate, in a 1-year period, the incidence of postpartum depression in natural birth mothers in relation to frontal alpha asymmetry in EEG during uterine contractions and resting state.
