Optimizing the Effectiveness of Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRIs) in Treatment-Resistant...
DepressionThis study will determine the effectiveness of adding S-adenosyl methionine to antidepressant drug treatment in reducing depressive symptoms in depressed people who have not responded to antidepressants alone.

Study of a Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS) Device for the Treatment of Major...
Major Depressive DisorderThis trial will test the safety and efficacy of a rTMS device for the treatment of major depressive disorder (MDD). It is hypothesized that rTMS will have an antidepressant effect. It is a 10-week, randomized, sham-controlled, multicenter trial in outpatients recruited in both academic and private research centers. It is comprised of three major phases: pre-study screening, acute treatment, and post-treatment taper. Eligible patients will be randomized to one of two rTMS treatment groups. One group will receive active rTMS treatment and one will receive an inactive, or sham, treatment. Each treatment takes about 45 minutes and is done on an outpatient basis. All trial related medical care is provided at no cost to the participant.
Study of Escitalopram in Adult Patients With Major Depressive Disorder
Major Depressive DisorderEscitalopram is the S-enantiomer of citalopram. Both escitalopram and citalopram are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) and are used to treat depression in adults. This study is designed to evaluate the efficacy, safety, and pharmacoeconomics of escitalopram and an active comparator in patients with major depressive disorder.
Cognitive Therapy for Recurrent Depression
DepressionThis study determined the effectiveness of continuation phase cognitive therapy versus antidepressant medication in preventing relapse of depression in people with recurrent depression.
Seasonal Affective Depression (SAD) Study
Depressive DisorderA placebo controlled study evaluating the effectiveness of medication in preventing winter depressive episodes in patients with a history of Seasonal Affective Disorder

Electroacupuncture for Major Depression
DepressionDepressive DisorderThis study will compare the safety, efficacy, and tolerability of electroacupuncture (EA) and sham electroacupuncture (SA) for the treatment of major depression.
Magnetic Brain Stimulation for the Treatment of Adult Depression
DepressionThis study will evaluate the safety and effectiveness of magnetic brain stimulation for the treatment of major depression in depressed adults with moderate treatment resistance.
