Treatment of Influenza in Routine Clinical Practice
InfluenzaAcute Upper Respiratory InfectionThis study evaluates the statistics of influenza and acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI) management in outpatient sites in Russia, Armenia, Moldova and Georgia (epidemiology: disease severity and bacterial exacerbations; patients demography; treatment duration and timelines; safety; quality of treatment) in routine clinical practice with focus on drug therapy and usage of interferons' inducers.
Diagnosing Respiratory Disease in Children Using Cough Sounds
PneumoniaBronchiolitis5 moreThe purpose of this prospective study is to evaluate the efficacy of the ResAppDx software application in diagnosis of pneumonia and other respiratory conditions (bronchiolitis, asthma/reactive airway disease, croup, upper or lower respiratory tract infections) in infants and children. Patient's cough sounds will be recorded using a smartphone and analysed using the ResAppDx software. The ResAppDx diagnosis will be compared to radiologic diagnosis and/or clinical diagnosis. The ResAppDx diagnosis will not be provided to the clinician or patient.
Study Bronchoalveolar Lavage Fluid Driven Pathogenic Diagnosis of Lower Respiratory Tract Infections...
Lower Respiratory Tract InfectionsComparison of microbiological yield from Bronchoalveolar Lavage Fluid (BALF) for the two common-used volume bronchoalveolar lavages(60ml and 120ml)in patients with different types of lower respiratory tract infection. Assessment of the safety of two common-used volume bronchoalveolar lavages(60ml and 120ml), including the incidence of hospital-acquired pneumonia within 14 days after bronchoscopy, and other bronchoalveolar lavage related adverse events.
Epidemiology of Hospital Acquired Pneumonia
Respiratory Tract Infection BacterialThis project aimed at analyzing and assessing of the early and late Hospital-Acquired Pneumonia(HAP) bacterial pathogens and their resistance to antimicrobial agents. The incidence of their resistance to antimicrobial agent is assessed. Included are patients hospitalized in the Intensive Care Departments of cooperated University hospitals, who developed early or late HAP. Bacterial pathogens and their resistance to antibiotics are identified using standard microbiological methods. The patient's mortality with respect to their initial antibiotic therapy is statistically analyzed.
Treatment of Respiratory Tract Infection and/or Acute Bronchitis With Ectoin Inhalation Solution...
BronchitisCough3 moreThis observational, non-interventional multicentric study compares the inhalation therapy on patients suffering on respiratory tract infections and/or acute bronchitis between Ectoin inhalation solution and Pari NaCl (0.9%) inhalation solution
Depressed AIRE Gene Expression Causes Immune Cell Dysfunction & Autoimmunity in Down Syndrome
Down SyndromePolyendocrinopathies3 moreThis study plans to learn more about Down syndrome. The investigators think there is a different level of the AIRE gene in individuals with Down syndrome. The investigators think that the AIRE gene level can provide more insight about depressed immune cell function in individuals with Down syndrome. Patients are being asked to be in this research study because the investigators want to see if their blood contains more of less of the AIRE gene.
'The Impact of Rhinovirus Infections in Paediatric Cardiac Surgery'
RhinovirusCongenital Heart Disease2 moreThis is a prospective single- center observational study in the Leiden University Medical Center in approximately 250 children (<12 years) undergoing elective cardiac surgery, for congenital heart disease. The parents/guardians of the children will be asked to fill out a questionnaire, to asses respiratory symptoms in the last weeks, before the operation of their child. In the operating theatre, a nasopharyngeal swab will collected. Clinical data will be collected daily during paediatric intensive care admission, and date of discharge from paediatric intensive care unit and from hospital are recorded. If children are still intubated at day 4 a second nasopharyngeal swab and residual blood will be collected. The samples will be tested for rhinovirus with a polymerase chain reaction. Main study parameter is the paediatric intensive care unit length of stay in per-operative rhinovirus -positive compared to rhinovirus-negative patients.
Prospective Clinical Evaluation of the FilmArray Respiratory Panel 2
Upper Resp Tract InfectionThis is a performance study to test the sensitivity and specificity of the BioFire FilmArray Respiratory Panel (RP) 2. The purpose of this study is to prospectively collect and test residual NPS specimens and generate performance data to support regulatory classification of the FilmArray RP2 as an in vitro diagnostic (IVD) in the US, European Union (EU), Canada, and other regions.
Pain and Stress Assessment in Children
Acute Respiratory InfectionsThere may be pain and / or stress with vibrocompression. There may be pain and / or stress with the aspiration of secretions.
Bioequivalence Study of Cephalexin Suspension 250
InfectionsRespiratory TractThe objective of this study was to confirm if two formulations of cephalexin suspension are bioequivalent. Test product was Ceporex® (250 mg Cephalexin / 5 ml; GlaxoSmithKline) and reference product Keflex® (125 mg Cephalexin / 5 ml; Eli Lilly). The single dosage was 10 ml of suspension for Ceporex and 20 ml of suspension for Keflex® . The study was prospective, open-label, randomized, crossover, single dose, with 02 treatments, 02 sequences and 02 periods, under fasting conditions. The population was composed of 28 healthy volunteers, both genders, adults between 18-50 years. The comparative bioavailability of the two formulations was evaluated based in statistical comparisons of relevant pharmacokinetic parameters, obtained from data of drug concentrations in blood.
