Healthy VolunteerUrea Cycle DisorderA Phase 1, First-in-human, Oral Single and Multiple Dose-Escalation, Randomized, Double-blinded, Placebo-controlled Study of SYNB1020 in Healthy Adult Volunteers to Evaluate Safety, Tolerability, Dosing, and Pharmacodynamics
A Collection of Case Studies in Infants With UCD to Evaluate Infant Growth and the Safety of a New...
Urea Cycle DisorderInborn Errors of MetabolismOriginal study: Study aims to enroll 3-5 children with confirmed Urinary Cycle Disorder (UCD). Subjects meeting the inclusion and exclusion criteria are included during the baseline visit. All subjects will receive the investigational product for a period of 16 weeks. At baseline, 2, 4, 8, 12 and 16 weeks the study parameters are assessed. The study amendment aims to collect case studies retrospectively of children who have used UCD Anamix Infant for at least 16 weeks, in countries where UCD Anamix Infant is already available on the market. It is aimed to collect the same study parameters of the original study at preferably the same timepoints.
Nitric Oxide Supplementation on Neurocognitive Functions in Patients With ASLD
Argininosuccinate Lyase DeficiencyUrea Cycle Disorder3 moreThis is a study involving a dietary supplement. Patients with argininosuccinate lyase deficiency (ASLD) will be randomly assigned to receive either a nitric oxide dietary supplement or placebo for 24 weeks, and then crossed-over to receive the other treatment for 24 weeks. The investigators will assess the effects of the supplement in domains of general cognition, memory, executive functioning, and fine motor functioning in individuals with ASLD.
Study of the Safety of HPN (Hyperion)-100 for the Long-Term Treatment of Urea Cycle Disorders (Treat...
Urea Cycle DisordersThis was a long-term safety study HPN-100 in urea cycle disorder (UCD) subjects. Subjects were assessed regularly for safety and control of their venous ammonia. Hyperammonemic events were characterized with respect to contributing factors, such as intercurrent illness, diet, and noncompliance with medication.
Human Heterologous Liver Cells for Infusion in Children With Urea Cycle Disorders
Urea Cycle DisordersCarbamoylphosphate Synthetase I Deficiency2 moreUrea cycle disorders are rare inherited diseases that generally have a poor outcome. In this study, neonates and infants with UCD will be included within the first 3 months of life and will be treated by repetitive application of human liver cells to reduce the risk of neurological deterioration while awaiting OLT.
Pilot Study For Hypothermia Treatment In Hyperammonemic Encephalopathy In Neonates And Very Young...
Urea Cycle DisordersOrganic AcidemiasThis is a pilot study which will test the safety and feasibility of hypothermia treatment as adjunct therapy to conventional treatment of hyperammonemic encephalopathy (HAE) in neonates versus conventional treatment (dialysis, nutritional therapy, and ammonia scavenging drugs) only. The endpoint of the pilot study will be reached when either 24 patients have been enrolled and no serious adverse events were observed, when no patient has been enrolled in 5 years, or when serious adverse events occur which are clearly linked to the use of hypothermia. These would be serious complications not seen in patients on conventional therapy (dialysis , nutritional therapy, ammonia scavenging drugs) for HAE.
Study of Glycerol Phenylbutyrate & Sodium Phenylbutyrate in Phenylbutyrate Naïve Patients With Urea...
Urea Cycle DisorderThis is a randomized, controlled, open-label parallel arm study to assess the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics and ammonia control, of RAVICTI® as compared to Sodium phenylbutyrate (NaPBA) in urea cycle disorder subjects not currently or previously chronically treated with phenylacetic acid (phenylacetate; PAA) prodrugs. The study design will include: 1) Baseline Period; 2) Initial Treatment Period; 3) a RAVICTI only Transition Period 4) a RAVICTI only Maintenance Period; and 5) a RAVICTI only Safety Extension Period. The study will run for approximately 25 weeks.
To Evaluate the Safety of Long-term Use of HPN-100 in the Management of Urea Cycle Disorders (UCDs)...
Urea Cycle DisordersThis was an open-label, long-term safety study of HPN-100 (RAVICTI; glycerol phenylbutyrate) in participants with a urea cycle disorder (UCD) who completed the safety extensions of HPN-100-005 (NCT00947544; HPN-100-005SE), HPN-100-006 (NCT00947297; HPN-100-007), or HPN-100-012 (NCT01347073; HPN-100-012SE). The initial studies were 1- to 2-week crossover studies, and their associated safety extensions were 12-month, open-label studies. All participants who completed the initial studies were eligible to enroll in the associated safety extension studies, and new participants were also permitted to enroll directly into the safety extension studies.
