Superficial Bladder CancerThe purpose of this research study is to test the safety and tolerability of an experimental drug, Chemophase, a combination of recombinant human hyaluronidase, (an investigational synthetic enzyme also known as rHuPH20), and mitomycin (MMC) in the treatment of superficial bladder cancer when instilled intravesically immediately after TURBT (transurethral resection of bladder tumor).

Recurrent Bladder Urothelial CarcinomaRecurrent Renal Pelvis Urothelial Carcinoma18 moreThis phase II trial studies how well erlotinib hydrochloride works in Treating participants with muscle invasive urothelial cancer or urothelial cancer that has come back. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as erlotinib hydrochloride, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading.

Sunitinib in Treating Patients With Progressive Metastatic Transitional Cell Cancer of the Urothelium...
Bladder CancerTransitional Cell Cancer of the Renal Pelvis and Ureter1 moreRATIONALE: Sunitinib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for their growth and by blocking blood flow to the tumor. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well sunitinib works in treating patients with progressive metastatic transitional cell cancer of the urothelium.
OGX-011 and Docetaxel in Treating Patients With Metastatic or Locally Recurrent Solid Tumors
Bladder CancerBreast Cancer6 moreRATIONALE: OGX-011 may kill tumor cells by blocking some of the proteins that may cause tumor cells to grow. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as docetaxel, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving OGX-011 together with docetaxel may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: This phase I trial is studying the side effects and best dose of OGX-011 when given together with docetaxel in treating patients with metastatic or locally recurrent solid tumors.
Loop Resectoscope in Treating Patients With Bladder Cancer or Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia Who Are...
Bladder CancerRATIONALE: Transurethral resection is a less invasive type of surgery for bladder cancer or benign prostatic hyperplasia. Transurethral resection using a loop resectoscope may have fewer side effects and improve recovery. PURPOSE: This clinical trial is studying how well the loop resectoscope works in treating patients with bladder cancer or benign prostatic hyperplasia who are undergoing transurethral resection.

Bladder CancerCervical Cancer9 moreRATIONALE: Stop-smoking plans, including counseling and nicotine replacement therapy, may help smokers quit smoking. It is not yet known whether counseling and the nicotine lozenge is more effective than counseling and the nicotine patch in helping adult smokers quit smoking. PURPOSE: This randomized phase III trial is studying counseling and the nicotine lozenge to see how well they work compared to counseling and the nicotine patch in helping smokers quit smoking.
