Early Safety of Resection Recopy and Sacrocolpopexy

Constipation by Outlet ObstructionPelvic Organ Prolapse1 more

Obstructive defecation syndrome (ODS) defines a disturbed defecation process frequently associated with pelvic organ prolapse (POP) in women. It substantially compromises quality of life and conservative treatment options are limited. In cases surgery is required the interventions are characterized by individual approaches. Laparoscopic resection rectopexy (L-RRP) combined with laparoscopic sacrocolpopexy (L-SCP) was established in an interdisciplinary setting.

Does Bladder Instillation Reduce Time to Discharge After Sling Surgery

Stress Urinary Incontinence

The purpose of this randomized control trial study is to determine if intraoperative bladder instillation of fluid decreases the time to discharge after having an outpatient mid-urethral sling procedure, and to measure the cost savings of this decrease in hospital stay. Charges will be broken down between recovery room charges and discharge area, as recovery room charges are significantly higher. The investigators suspect that a shorter time in the recovery room will translate into fewer charges.

Think Dry: Optimalisation of Diagnostic Process of Urinary Incontinence in Older People

IncontinenceUrge5 more

Urinary incontinence is an increasing medical and socio-economical problem. 44% of the elderly (>65 years) women and 28% of the elderly men suffer from unwilling urine loss. Moreover, this percentages increase with age. Incontinence is a problem with multiple physical, psychological, and financial effects. In addition incontinence has a important impact on the family and healthcare professionals surrounding the elderly. The problem of urinary incontinence is complex and multifactorial. Moreover, diagnostic guidelines are inconsistent leading to a high amount of technical interventions to diagnose and to specify the type of incontinence. Aim of this study is to create a short form of necessary technical investigations to diagnose and evaluate urinary incontinence.

The Effect of the Diaphragm in Urinary Incontinence

Urinary Incontinence

Urinary incontinence in children is defined as involuntary leakage of urine. Urinary incontinence is the most common urological complaint in children. Many factors are effective in urinary incontinence. Research on the effectiveness of the diaphragm in postural stabilization, which the investigators think is one of these factors, is limited. The aim of this study is to compare the effectiveness of diaphragmatic breathing in postural stabilization with healthy individuals and individuals with urinary incontinence. As a result, it has been revealed that one factor of urinary incontinence is due to the dysfunction of diaphragmatic breathing and will be a step to increase awareness on diaphragmatic breathing.

Fundación IVO Registry for Patients Undergoing Sling or Artificial Urinary Sphincter After Prostate...

Urinary IncontinenceStress

Stress urinary incontinence is a significant potential source of morbidity after radical prostatectomy or radiation therapy for prostate cancer. At present, artificial urinary sphincter remains the preferred therapeutic option. However, this technique is not free from complications. In an attempt to avoid such complications, male sling has been suggested for use in patients with mild degrees of stress incontinence.

Prevalence and Consequences of Urinary Incontinence in People With Chronic Pulmonary Diseases Referred...

Chronic Pulmonary DiseasePulmonary Rehabilitation1 more

Urinary incontinence is a frequent chronic condition in general population. It is even more frequent in people with chronic respiratory disease due to several factors, including but not limited to frequent cough. Urinary incontinence may be more frequent during exercise so that it may contribute to the general deconditioning associated with chronic respiratory disease. Although pulmonary rehabilitation is a cornerstone in the management of people with chronic respiratory disease to break this spiral of worsening dyspnea, little is known about the prevalence of urinary incontinence among those people referred for pulmonary rehabilitation nor about its impact on the effects of the program.
