Feasibility of BOTOX Injection on Improving Female Stress Urinary Incontinence

Stress Urinary Incontinence

The purpose of this study is to assess the effect of onabotulinumtoxin A (BOTOX) injection into the detrusor muscle on increasing bladder compliance to reduce urinary leakage in women suffering from stress urinary incontinence (SUI).

Association Between Sarcopenia and Urinary Incontinence And Effect Of Physical Activity Among Over...

Urinary IncontinenceSarcopenia

As far as the investigators know, until this moment no research has investigated the prevalence of Sarcopenia in both sexes in Hungary. Additionally, no research discovered the association between sarcopenia and UI and the effect of physical activity level on these geriatric conditions in Hungary. Furthermore, it is known that Sarcopenia and UI are causing negative psychological, physical, and social effects on the geriatrics who are suffering from these conditions, not to mention the increase in health care costs. In an attempt to decrease these negative effects, there is a need for a deeper understanding of these conditions by identifying the relationship between them and understanding the risk factors that might cause them. The finding of this study would help with determining those risk factors that are causing these geriatric conditions (Sarcopenia and UI). Last, this study will provide accurate numbers and statistics to the Hungarian health organizations and educational institutions about the prevalence of sarcopenia and UI which will help shed the light on the importance of these problems among older adults in Hungary. This Cross-sectional study aim to: Explore and study physical activity levels among aging adults of both sexes in Hungary. To determine the prevalence of sarcopenia and UI among elderly individuals in Hungary. Investigate the associations between sarcopenia and urinary incontinence among older adults (≥ 50 years). Identify the effect of physical activity level on the occurrence of Sarcopenia and Urinary incontinence Hypothesis: The investigators hypothesize that sarcopenia is a risk factor to have UI. The investigators hypothesize that reduced physical activity level is also associated with sarcopenia and/or UI.

Ganglion Cell Thickness in Enuresis Nocturna

EnuresisNocturnal2 more

The precise role of the intrinsic circadian regulatory mechanism behind the pathogenesis of enuresis is not fully understood, but in theory, circadian rhythm irregularity may be the primary pathogenic mechanism not only for urinary outflow mechanisms but also for nocturnal bladder function. The proximity between SCN centers that control AVP release, sleep/arousal, voiding, and baroreregulation may provide the basis for circadian rhythm disturbance in one or more of these biological functions. Ganglion cells containing melanopsin pigment in the retina transmit the information they receive from the outside world about the light-dark state to the SCN via the retinohypothalamic pathway. Peripapillary retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) thickness, optic nerve head and macula are examined most frequently for the diagnosis of glaucoma and the detection of progression with optical coherence tomography (OCT). If differences in ganglion cell thickness can be detected using OCT in these children, a new avenue in Enuresis Nocturna may be opened.

Tension Free Vaginal Tape Surgery - Follow up After 10 and 20 Years

Urinary Incontinence,Stress

Over the past 5-7 years there has been increasing concern about the use of polypropylene tapes in female incontinence surgery. There has been a special focus on pain in the vagina and lower abdomen and pain during sexual intercourse. Some have also asked if the polypropylene tape could cause impairment of the immune system leading to allergy, connective tissue disorders etc. There are still only a few publications on complications after sling surgery. In Norway it is mandatory to register all incontinence surgery in the National incontinence registry (Norsk Kvinnelig Inkontinens Register (NKIR). In 2019 >99 % of all procedures were registered in this registry. Data about type and severity of incontinence are registered, as well as complications at surgery. The same data are entered at a 6 months and 3 years follow up. Data for the follow up visits are not complete. The NKIR registry and other similar registries have been criticized for not following the women long enough and therefore missing important information regarding long-term complications. Few studies have followed the women for a longer time after surgery. The main aim of this study is to find the prevalence of women still satisfied with the TVT surgery and the prevalence of long-term complications after 10 and 20 years.

Investigation of the Relationship Between Pelvic Floor Awareness and Urinary Incontinence

Pelvic FloorUrinary Incontinence1 more

There is no study in the literature examining the knowledge level and urinary symptoms of active athletes about the pelvic floor. The aim of this study is to determine the relationship between PTC awareness and incontinence in young athletes who engage in long-term and high-intensity activities that increase the risk of SUI.

Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms and School Functioning in Children

Lower Urinary Tract SymptomsNeurodevelopmental Disorders7 more

Children in primary school often suffer from lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS), which may negatively impact their overall well-being. Co-occurring neurodevelopmental disorders (NDDs) can adversely affect children as well and can cause restrictions in their daily life, especially in their school-environment. The goal of this observational study is to identify the prevalence of LUTS in Flemish primary school children. The main questions it aims to answer are: How prevalent are LUTS in regular primary education? Is there a relation with well-being in school environment? Is there an influence of co-occuring NDDs? Children, parents and teachers will be asked to fill in questionnaires related to this research question.

Core Stability as a Prognostic Factor of Urinary Incontinence in Patients Undergoing Robot-assisted...

Prostate Cancer

The study aims at investigating the possible correlation between core stability muscles and urinary incontinence following Robot-Assisted Laparoscopic Prostatectomy. Sixty-two patients who are candidates for Robot-Assisted Laparoscopic Prostatectomy will be enrolled. All participants will be asked to be evaluated in their core stability functionality 30-40 days before Robot-Assisted Laparoscopic Prostatectomy intervention. The core stability functionality result will be correlated with the urinary incontinence 45-50 days after intervention.

The Effect of High-Intensity Focused Electromagnetic on Urinary Incontinence Symptoms

Urinary IncontinenceStress Incontinence

This study is aimed at women's pelvic floor muscles, especially urinary incontinence caused by pelvic floor muscle relaxation or pelvic prolapse, to observe whether the use of (HIFEM) high-intensity focused magnetic energy chairs can help the pelvic floor muscles after this treatment Strengthening to improve the symptoms of urinary incontinence caused by the compression of the sacral nerve plexus caused by the downward movement of the uterus, thereby improving the social life and quality of life of the patient.

The Intermediate and Long-term Follow up of Home Based Pelvic Muscle Training

Pelvic Floor DisordersPelvic Organ Prolapse1 more

When participants present with symptoms of pelvic organ prolapse (POP) and stress urinary incontinence (SUI), the investigators will perform a comprehensive evaluation and initially provide conservative treatment. If conservative treatment fails, invasive treatment will be considered. The investigators will arrange a pelvic muscle training course two to three times a week for a duration of 1.5 months per course. However, participants may complain about the inconvenience of traffic, which may lead to discontinuation of the pelvic training course. Therefore, the investigators propose the development of a home-based pelvic muscle training device and will collaborate with information engineering specialists at Tamkang University to invent the device for home-based pelvic muscle training.
