Disposable Stress Urinary Incontinence Pessary Device Study
Stress Urinary IncontinenceThis study is an interventional, single arm, multi-center study. It will be conducted at sites in the northeastern United States. The protocol will be approved by Chesapeake IRB or applicable local IRBs. The sample size will consist of approximately 50 participants. Participants will undergo an initial control period in which preweighed pads will be worn for 7 consecutive days for 12 hours. This will be followed by device usage for 14 consecutive days where participants will wear both device and preweighed pads simultaneously. for 12 hours.

Stress Urinary IncontinenceFecal IncontinenceThis study will investigate if citalopram, a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor, is reducing the opening pressure of the urethra and possibly causing or worsening stress urinary incontinence. Reboxetine, a norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor, is known to increase urethral opening pressure through actions on adrenoceptors in Onuf´s nucleus and will act as an active control. Furthermore, this study is performed to explore the effects of reboxetine and citalopram on the opening pressure of the anal canal.

Urinary IncontinenceProstate Cancer2 moreThe main purpose of this study is to reveal the effectiveness of the Knack maneuver and lifestyle recommendations program to be given in addition to the pelvic floor muscle training (PFMT) program, which has been proven to be effective in individuals with urinary incontinence symptoms after prostatectomy. This study is a prospective, controlled, randomized clinical trial. The study includes an 8-week pelvic floor muscle training, Knack maneuver and lifestyle recommendations. In summary, it is stated in the literature that PFMT and lifestyle recommendations are beneficial in the treatment of urinary incontinence (UI). However, although there is evidence of the effectiveness of the Knack maneuver in stress UI in women, there is no evidence of the Knack maneuver in urinary incontinence after prostatectomy. On the other hand, the literature on the effect of lifestyle recommendations after prostatectomy is very limited. Therefore, the aim of this study is to reveal the effectiveness of the Knack maneuver and lifestyle recommendations program, which will be given in addition to the PFMT program, which has been demonstrated in individuals with UI complaints after radical prostatectomy, in a randomized controlled design.

Urinary IncontinencePelvic Floor DisordersPelvic floor dysfunction is commonly seen in the postpartum women with symptoms including urinary urgency and frequency, urinary incontinence and fecal incontinence. Pelvic floor physical therapy (PFPT) and home biofeedback devices have been shown to improve pelvic floor symptoms in postpartum and non-postpartum populations, respectively. This randomized noninferiority clinical trial will assess urinary incontinence-related quality of life in postpartum women with self-reported urinary incontinence who are randomized to a program of home biofeedback or pelvic floor physical therapy.
