The FDA requires researchers to conduct long-term follow-up of people who have had the treatment. This study collects data on people who have had gene therapy and sends it to the FDA. The data does not include participants names. Objective: To contact current or past participants of gene therapy protocols at least once a year for up to 15 years to ensure they have not had any harmful side effects. Eligibility: People aged 18 and older who have had gene therapy in a National Cancer Institute study Design: Participants will give their address and telephone number. They will also give and the address and phone number of 1 or 2 other people who will know where they are. For the first year after gene therapy, participants will give blood samples 3 times (at 3, 6, and 12 months). For the next 4 years, they may have a physical exam and laboratory tests with a home physician. They will get a kit to mail in blood samples. Or they can visit the NIH Clinical Center. They will be asked if they have had any signs of neurological, autoimmune, or blood disorders, or any new cancers. For years 6 to 15, participants will be contacted yearly via phone or email and asked questions about their health. They may give blood samples. When the participant dies, if researchers think the death was caused by gene therapy, they will ask the participant s family to allow an autopsy. ...

Evaluation of Long-term HPV Vaccine Efficacy
Uterine Cervical CancerSummary For ethical and practical reasons pre-licensure clinical efficacy phase III trials for GSK Biologicals' HPV-16/18 LI VLP AS04 vaccine used cervical intraepithelial grade 2 and above (CIN2+) lesions as surrogate efficacy endpoint for cervical cancer. The long-term impact of HPV vaccination on cervical cancer as well as other HPV-related non- cervical cancers is, however, an area warranting further exploration in the post-licensure setting. Results of the multinational phase III trial demonstrated high vaccine efficacy against CIN2+ associated with HPV-16 and/or HPV-18, significant vaccine efficacy against CIN2+ and CIN3+ irrespective of HPV type in the lesion as well as evidence of protection against CIN2+ associated with HPV types 31 and 45 [Paavonen, et al. 2009]. Over time, vaccinated cohorts should benefit from a substantial reduction in the incidence of cervical cancer considering impact on oncogenic non-vaccine HPV types. This long-term study is conducted to evaluate the long-term impact of GSK Biologicals' HPV-16/18 vaccine on the occurrence of cervical pre-cancerous lesions and cervical cancer with the following objectives: To assess the long-term efficacy of the HPV-16/18 L1 VLP AS04 vaccine on the occurrence of cervical cancer including its immediate precursors (CIN3+): cervical intraepithelial neoplasia grade 3 (CIN3) and adenocarcinoma in situ (AIS) by comparing cohorts A and C (see below). To assess the efficacy of HPV-16/18 L1 VLP AS04 vaccine on the occurrence of the following potentially HPV related non-cervical cancers such as vulvar intraepithelial neoplasia, vaginal intraepithelial neoplasia, anogenital neoplasia and oropharyngeal neoplasia by comparing cohorts A and C (see below) To assess as an explanatory objective the occurrence of CIN3+ breakthrough cases associated with HPV-16 or HPV-18 infection in subjects vaccinated with HPV-16/18 L1 VLP AS04 vaccine by close surveillance of cohorts and cross vaccinated cohort B (see below) This prospective, observational cohort study is undertaken in originally 16-17 year-old Finnish females who have participated in the GSK Biologicals' HPV-008 trial (NCT00122681) with regular clinical follow-up, and can be divided in Cohort A: Female subjects from Finland who received HPV-16/18 L1 VLP AS04 vaccine in the HPV-008 study between May 2004 and May 2005 (N=2409), and Cohort B: Female subjects from Finland who received the Hepatitis A control vaccine in the HPV-008 study (N=2399). All subjects were offered the HPV-16/18 L1 VLP AS04 vaccine or screening for cervical cancer at the end of the study (age 21-22): 50% of the subjects, chose not to take cross-over HPV vaccination at HPV-008 study end. Referent Cohort C: A population-based reference cohort of female subjects from Finland who have not been exposed to any HPV vaccine (either during a HPV vaccine trial, or commercially available vaccine; i.e. Cervarix or Gardasil), enrolled in this study in May - September 2003 or May - September 2005, altogether 15536 subjects). Prospective data collection will start at the HPV screening invitation for each subject in 2013. Several analyses are planned including an analysis at 8 years post-completion of the HPV-008 study (by 2020) and will provide a total evaluation time of approximately 15 years since first vaccination in the Cohort A. The study is self-contained for the primary and secondary endpoints. Data from the HPV-008 trial will be used to address exploratory objectives mentioned above. Data collection will be performed using the databases from the University of Tampere.

Podcasting Cervical Cancer Prevention for AAW
Cervical CancerFor African American women (AAW) in Houston, cervical cancer mortality is disproportionate to their racial and ethnic counterparts.Most notably, lack of human papillomavirus (HPV) screening, vaccination, and later diagnosis increase cervical cancer mortality. However, cervical cancer is largely preventable. While previous research has identified only a few social determinants that are specifically related to cervical cancer, there may be a host of additional social and cultural factors that contribute to a lack of preventative behavior. The overall objective of the proposed study is to gather preliminary data to determine whether the use of concept mapping methodology is useful in identifying unique sociocultural determinants of cervical cancer prevention behavior, and to pilot test the feasibility of a podcast video developed using the information garnered from the concept mapping procedure. It is hypothesized that the resulting podcast video will increase HPV knowledge and behavioral intentions. Proof of concept and feasibility are needed first, in determining the utility of both the methodology and media development procedures, as well as data on preliminary effect outcomes, before further investigation and program development.

These data specific to the impact of the involvement of an influential person on Pap test screening could be used to develop successful cancer prevention programs that target the specific needs of Chinese populations.

Cervical CancerThis randomized controlled trial will evaluate Game Changers for Cervical Cancer Prevention (GC-CCP) for increasing cervical cancer (CC) screening advocacy among intervention recipients (index participants) towards female social network members, and uptake of CC screening among enrolled female social network members (alter participants) who have not previously been screened. The main research questions are: Is the GC-CCP network-based peer advocacy intervention superior to usual care (no intervention) in improving uptake of CC screening among alter participants, across urban/rural and public/private clinics? What are the mediators and moderators (among index, alter and network characteristics) of intervention effects on (a) alter CC screening; and (b) engagement in CC prevention advocacy among index participants?

Effects of Decision Aids on the Participation of South Asian Women in Cervical Cancer Screening...
Cervical CancerObjectives: To examine the effects of linguistically appropriate decision aids on decisional conflicts, risk perception, clarity of values, screening decisions and screening uptake among South Asian women in Hong Kong Design and subjects: A randomised controlled trial. A sample of 270 South Asian women aged 25-64 will be recruited to one of the two intervention groups or control group. Instruments: A survey will be conducted to collect data on the variables of concern (decisional conflicts, risk perception, clarity of values, screening decision and screening uptake). Interventions: Ethnically match community health workers (CHWs) will deliver the printed or mobile application decision aids to intervention group participants and briefly explain how to use the decision aid. The participants will choose a time and place of their convenience to read the decision aid. The participants will be contacted by CHWs within 2 weeks and asked if they have experienced any problems. Navigation assistance will be given as requested. Main outcome measures: Decisional conflicts, risk perception, clarity of values, screening decision and uptake. Data analysis: The repeated-measure outcomes of risk perception, clarity of values, decisional conflicts and screening decision will be compared between the three groups while adjusting for the stratifying variable (ethnicity) using a generalised estimating equation model, and a multivariable logistic regression with adjustment for ethnicity will be used to compare the screening uptake of the three groups. Expected results: The decision aid will clarify the participants' values and help them to make screening decisions and increase the uptake.
