Three-dimensional Power Doppler in the Diagnosis of Endometrial Lesions in Patients With Postmenopausal...
Postmenopausal Bleeding100 women suffering post-menopausal bleeding will be included in the study. All the participants will undergo 3D Transvaginal Ultrasound to assess the endometrium and myometrium (for the presence of any focal lesions e.g. polypi) followed by 3D Power Doppler ultrasound assessment of the vascular indices: vascularization index (VI), flow index (FI) and vascularization-flow index (VFI) and endometrial volumes. The results of the ultrasound and Doppler indices will be correlated to the histopathological examination of specimens collected following fractional curettage or hysterectomy.
Vocal in Assessment of Endometrium in Postmenopause
Postmenopausal BleedingThe unbalanced estrogen with no progesterone will lead to endometrial thickening .This thickening result in endometrial hyperplasia & carcinoma and lead to irregular bleeding
A Study of Severe Uterine Bleeding Following Exposure to Direct Oral Anticoagulants
Uterine HemorrhageThe purpose of this study is assess the: (a) incidence of severe uterine bleeding (SUB) following exposure to individual direct oral anticoagulant (DOACs) (rivaroxaban, apixaban, dabigatran) and warfarin, (b) individual DOACs (rivaroxaban, apixaban, dabigatran) association with risk of SUB compared with warfarin, and (c) individual DOACs (rivaroxaban, apixaban, dabigatran) associated with risk of SUB compared with other individual DOACs - among women with prior diagnoses for DOAC and warfarin indications (non-valvular atrial fibrillation [NVAF], venous thromboembolism [VTE], total hip replacement [THR] or total knee replacement [TKR]).
Evaluation of Menstrual Irregularities and Abnormal Uterine Bleeding After Covid-19 Vaccine
COVID-19Vaccine2 moreCovid-19 vaccines offered a good opportunity to counteract the spread of Sars-Cov-2 infection among the general population, reducing significantly both morbidity and mortality. Nevertheless, after the first and second doses of vaccination (regardless of the type of vaccine used) several women required gynaecological visits claiming menstrual Irregularities or abnormal uterine bleeding. Considering this anecdotal evidence, a questionnaire was designed to investigate systematically whether menstrual Irregularities or abnormal uterine bleeding occurred in a significant percentage of women undergoing first and second doses of covid-19 vaccination.
Does Skyla Insertion Timing Impact Bleeding?
Vaginal BleedingWomen presenting for contraception will be offered the IUS Skyla and study participation. Daily bleeding will be collected for a total of 90 days and correlated with insertion timing and baseline endometrial thickness.
Uterine Artery and Spiral Artery Doppler Parameters in Patients With Postmenopausal Bleeding
Postmenopausal BleedingThis study was to investigate the diagnostic value of ultrasonography and blood flow measurements in uterine arteries and spiral arteries by transvaginal color Doppler ultrasonography in the detection of the endometrial pathology in women with postmenopausal bleeding.
Transvaginal Ultrasound in Women With Abnormal Uterine Bleeding
Abnormal Uterine BleedingThe objective of this study is to investigate the role of transvaginal ultrasound in detecting endometrial hyperplasia and endometrial cancer in women aged more than 35 presenting with abnormal uterine bleeding.
Preliminary Study of Endometrial Hyperplasia Groundwork for a Study to Define Precursors of Endometrial...
Endometrial HyperplasiaEndometrial Cancer2 moreThis study, conducted jointly by the National Cancer Institute and the Kaiser Permanente Center for Health Research Northwest (KPCHRN) in Portland, Oregon, will lay the groundwork for a future study to identify precursors of endometrial cancer; that is, conditions that precede development of cancer of the lining of the uterus. The diagnosis of endometrial hyperplasia (a condition of abnormal proliferation of endometrial tissue) includes most precursors of endometrial cancer, as well as many benign conditions. Currently, three methods of classifying endometrial cancer precursors have been suggested based on endometrial hyperplasia findings, but it is not known which classification best predicts cancer risk. This study will examine surgical specimens of hyperplasia and cancer from women diagnosed with endometrial cancer at least 2 years after a diagnosis of endometrial hyperplasia. Investigators will estimate the percentage of cases with different degrees of hyperplasia, and assess the subsequent cancers that developed. This will allow them to rank hyperplasia lesions according to cancer risk and identify lesions that represent the most immediate cancer precursors. They will also review patients medical charts for information related to cancer risk and treatment. Study participants will include women enrolled in the KPCHRN who are 40 years of age or older and who were diagnosed with endometrial cancer at least 2 years after being diagnosed with endometrial hyperplasia.
Screening To Obviate Preterm Birth
Preterm LaborPreterm Contractions4 moreOur objective is to investigate the predictive value of a panel of biomarkers associated with two biologically plausible pathways of preterm birth: membrane breakdown and cervical remodeling. The investigators will obtain cervical length, cervicovaginal fetal fibronectin, and a panel of novel cervicovaginal biomarkers associated with cervical remodeling in a prospective cohort of symptomatic women with a singleton pregnancy at high risk for preterm birth in an effort to better risk stratify this cohort.
Reliability of Simple Sonographic Findings Acquired With Hand-held Apparatuses to Inform Obstetric...
Obstetric ComplicationVaginal Bleeding3 morethe study aims to assess the reliability of ultrasound findings measured by hand held ultrasound probes used by operators with variable experience in a low resource hospital.
