Right Ventricular Dysfunction in Chronic Heart Failure
Chronic Heart FailureRight Ventricular Dysfunction1 moreThe goal of this multi center observational prospective study is to analyze the concordance between the signs and symptoms of RHF and echocardiographic features of RVD in patient with heart failure. The main questions it aims to answer are: to assess the incidence of RVH and RVD in each HF subtypes. to evaluate prognostic impact ( in terms of cardiovascular mortality and HF hospitalization) of different RVD patterns during a mean followup period of 3 years To investigate the incidence of different RV maladaptation ( isolated RV dilatation, isolated Pulmonary hypertension, combined pattern) in each HF groups and the related outcome. Participants will follow by direct check up visit and/or virtual visits every 6 months for a mean follow-up period of 3 years.
Incidence, Impact and Mechanisms of Perioperative Right VEntricular Dysfunction (IMPRoVE)
Right Ventricular DysfunctionA study to see how common right heart failure (right ventricular dysfunction) after major surgery is, and to investigate if right ventricular dysfunction causes worse patient outcomes after surgery.
Standard Drug Therapy vs. Implanted Defibrillator for Primary Prevention of Sudden Cardiac Death...
Coronary Heart DiseaseCongestive Heart Failure3 moreRecent ACC/AHA/ESC guidelines recommend prophylactic ICD implantation in most patients with coronary heart disease and LVEF < 40%. Current Canadian guidelines recommend ICDs for primary prophylaxis in CAD patients with LVEF < 30% (Class I recommendation). There are very sparse data to recommend ICD implantation in patients with EF between 30 and 40 %. This study will randomize patients with CHD and an EF between 30 and 40% to ICD therapy vs. No ICD therapy. The primary outcome is mortality and the study is powered as a non-inferiority trial to test the hypothesis that mortality in patients with no ICD is not more than 1% greater (absolute yearly increase) than patients receiving an ICD.
A Single-blind Pilot Study to Investigate Safety and Tolerability of the Chymase Inhibitor BAY1142524...
Heart FailureThe purpose of the trial is the analysis of safety and tolerability of the chymase inhibitor BAY1142524 in comparison to placebo using a 2 weeks treatment period in clinically stable patients with left-ventricular dysfunction after myocardial infarction. BAY1142524 or placebo will be given on top of evidence-based standard of care for left-ventricular dysfunction after myocardial infarction. Primary objectives are the analysis of safety and tolerability as evidenced by the incidence and severity of adverse events. BAY1142524 will be administered in a parallel group design using four doses (5, 10, 25 mg twice daily, and 50 mg once daily). Each dose group consists of 9 patients treated with verum and 3 patients treated with placebo.
Autologous Bone Marrow Transplanted Via Transendocardial Catheter to Chronic Myocardial Infarct...
Ventricular DysfunctionMyocardial InfarctionThe object of this open-labeled, uncontrolled pilot study was to investigate the safety and feasibility of percutaneously transplanting autologous bone marrow (ABM) cells into the myocardium using the helical needle transendocardial (TE) delivery system in stable coronary patients with ventricular dysfunction due to chronic myocardial infarction (MI). A secondary goal was to assess the possibility that such cell injections could improve ejection fraction (EF).
Strategic Management to Improve CRT Using Multi-Site Pacing Post Approval Study (Reference # C1918)...
Left Ventricular DysfunctionProspective, multi-center, single arm, post approval study to be conducted in the United States.
Detection of Right Ventricular Dysfunction by Portal Vein Doppler After Cardiac Surgery
Postoperative ComplicationsHeart Diseases2 moreRight ventricular (RV) failure after cardiac surgery is associated with morbidity and mortality, but is hard to diagnose with conventional echocardiographic means. RV dysfunction may be associated with hepatic congestion, which may have an effect on portal veinous flow, but this has not been extensively. The investigators aimed determine whether an increased pulsatility in the portal venous flow was associated with RV dysfunction, after cardiac surgery at risk of RV dysfunction: mitral and tricuspid valve procedures.
Bone Marrow Derived Mononuclear Cells For Myocardial Regeneration
Left Ventricular DysfunctionEvaluative pilot study for safety and feasibility with administration of autologous bone bone marrow derived mononuclear cells by endoventricular catheter into the normal border zone fo the ischemic lesion.
Safety and the Effects of Isolated Left Ventricular Pacing in Patients With Bradyarrhythmias
BradyarrhythmiasArrhythmias3 morePrevious experimental and clinical studies have consistently suggested that right ventricular (RV) apical pacing has important adverse effects. Ventricular pacing, however, is required, and cannot be reduced in many patients with atrioventricular block. The SAFE-LVPACE study is a randomized controlled trial that compare the effects of conventional right ventricular (RV) pacing vs. left ventricular (LV) in patients with AV block.
Bi Treatment With Hydralazine/Nitrates Versus Placebo in Africans Admitted With Acute Heart Failure...
Acute Heart FailureLeft Ventricular DysfunctionTo investigate the effect of hydralazine isosorbide dinitrate on clinical outcomes, symptoms, cardiac parameters and functional status of African patients hospitalized with AHF and left ventricular dysfunction during 24 weeks of therapy. Administration of hydralazine/nitrates will be superior to placebo administration in reducing HF readmission or death, improving dyspnoea, reducing blood pressure and brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) in African patients admitted with AHF and left ventricular dysfunction.
