Contact-Force-Sensing-Based Radiofrequency Catheter Ablation in Paroxysmal Supraventricular Tachycardias...

Tachycardia; ParoxysmalSupraventricular2 more

The aim of this single-center prospective randomized controlled trial is to assess the superiority of contact-force-(CF)-sensing-based approach compared to conventional (non-CF-sensing) approach in the catheter ablation of PSVTs, and to investigate the safety of open-irrigated, contact-force-sensing ablation catheters (used in a "non-irrigated" mode) in these procedures.

Ventricular Tachycardia Ablation and Myocardial Scar Characterization With Magnetic Resonance

Ventricular TachycardiaMyocardial Fibrosis

Previous monocentric experiences have already highlighted the role of preoperative cardiac imaging, in particular of cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) and tomography (CT), in improving the ablation results of scar-related ventricular tachycardia (VT). A better characterization of scar obtained with high quality CMR images and post processing data with creation of maps exploring the heart in concentric layers from the endocardium to the epicardium could allow a personalized and more precise approach to this pathology. Aim of the study - Evaluating the feasibility and possible benefit of CMR-guided ablative approach (group 1: ablation of the "anatomical" channels of heterogeneous tissue within the scar) compared to CMR-aided approach (group 2: ablation of the "electrical" conduction channels within the scar) and standard approach (group 3: ablation guided by an electro-anatomical system without the aid of CMR) in a multi-center Tuscan study. What would add the project to what we know - The achievement of the objectives by the project would allow to propose a personalized ablation on the basis of the scar characterization and would allow a better efficacy, efficiency of the procedure and probably also a safer treatment

Physiologically Guided VT Ablation

Ventricular Tachycardia

The purpose of this study is to determine the efficacy of VT ablation guided by functional evaluation of the substrate to specifically target the reentry-vulnerable zones in patients with infarct-related VT.

Effects of Carvedilol on Suppressing the Premature Ventricular Complex/Ventricular Tachycardia From...

Ventricular Premature ComplexesOutflow Tract1 more

Carvedilol is known to be effective in reducing ventricular arrhythmias and mortality in patients with heart failure. It is suggested that one of the mechanisms is its ability to block store overload-induced Calcium release which activates spontaneous calcium release by Ryanodine receptors. Ventricular outflow tract tachyarrhythmia is known to be associated with calcium overload due to activation of Ryanodine receptors. The aim of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of Carvedilol on premature ventricular complex(PVC)/ventricular tachycardia(VT) originating from outflow tract.

Zero-fluoroscopy Approach Versus Fluoroscopic Approach for the Ablation of Paroxysmal Supraventricular...

Paroxysmal Supraventricular Tachycardia

This study is aimed to compare the feasibility, safety and efficacy of a zero-fluoroscopic approach using Ensite NavX with conventional fluoroscopic approach using Ensite NavX plus fluoroscopy for the ablation of paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia.

Medical ANtiarrhythmic Treatment or Radiofrequency Ablation in Ischemic Ventricular Tachyarrhythmias...

Myocardial InfarctionVentricular Tachyarrhythmia

The study evaluates whether catheter based radiofrequency ablation is superior to optimized antiarrhythmic medical therapy in preventing ventricular tachyarrhythmia relapses in patients with ischemic heart disease and implantable cardioverter defibrillator.

Botulinum Toxin Injection for Preventing Secondary Atrial Fibrillation in Patient With Supra-ventricular...

Supra-ventricular Tachyarrhythmias

The investigators have conducted a prospective, double-blind, randomized study to assess the comparative safety and efficacy of two different ablation strategies, RFA versus RFA plus botulinum toxin injection, in patients with supra-ventricular tachyarrhythmias. Results were assessed with the use of an implanted monitoring device (IMD).

MRI Assessment of Arrythmia Ablation Lesions

Ventricular TachycardiaCardiac Arrhythmia

This study will evaluate the feasibility of visualization and characterization of arrhythmia ablation lesions by MRI immediately following standard ablation techniques. The appearance of the ablation lesion will be correlated with clinical outcomes and risk of arrhythmia recurrence.

enHEART - Exploring Full Content of Optical Signals to Enhance Cardiac Arrhythmia Screening

ArrhythmiasCardiac8 more

This research will investigate the PPG signal morphology related to physiological and non- physiological changes in arrhythmia-related heart rate as well as the performance of the PPG-based features previously developed within the framework of the Mini-Holter study to discriminate between several cardiac arrhythmias. To this end, clinical data will be recorded on patients by using a wrist-based PPG monitor simultaneously with 12-lead ECG and intracardiac electrogram (EGM) signals at the university hospital in Lausanne. Importantly, this study will remain purely observational as it will not change the diagnostic and therapeutic management of the included patients, nor will it interfere with the time course of the procedures. The aim of enHEART study is to validate on a larger database the ability of several previously developed PPG-based features to detect a variety of cardiac arrhythmias.

Does Timing of VT Ablation Affect Prognosis in Patients With an Implantable Cardioverter-defibrillator?...

Ventricular Tachycardias

The purpose of this study is to assess whether the burden of untreated non-sustained ventricular tachycardias (VTs), or episodes treated with anti-tachycardia pacing, correlates with appropriate implantable cardiac defibrillator (ICD) shock therapies and to evaluate if the timing of radiofrequency VT ablation affects the prognosis of ICD recipients.
