Workplace Exercise and Pain Education Intervention in Office Workers

The goal of this Clinical trial is to compare treatments in sedentary administrative personnel with back pain. The main question it aims to answer: The benefits of a workplace intervention with therapeutic exercise and pain education compared with only therapeutic exercise intervention Participants will perform active pauses in their workplace with a web-based program that consists of videos or images of exercises and pain education information. Researchers will compare a group Therapeutic exercise and pain education intervention with a group therapeutic exercise only to see if pain education plus exercise is a more beneficial intervention in reducing back pain in symptomatic administrative personnel.

Non-Specific Chronic Lower Back Pain

This is a prospective, sham-controlled, randomized, single-blinded, multi-center study comparing two different modes of the NexWave device, transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) and interferential current (IFC), with an identical non-functioning NexWave sham device or self-defined standard of care for improvement of pain intensity of non-specific CLBP.

The purpose of this study is to investigate influence of a combined interferential (IF) current stimulation and abdominal draw-in exercises on the abdominal muscle thickness, TrA endurance, pain intensity and function disability in patients with chronic non-specific LBP (CNSLBP) CNSLBP is considered the second most common health problem after headache. The lifetime of LBP among Egyptian patients in a family center reached 48%, which indicates that LBP is a prevalent symptom that deserves more attention. One hypothesis for the development of LBP is due to a dysfunction in the control of the abdominal and back muscles and this change in spinal control is due in part to in local segmental muscles dysfunction, such as the transversus abdominis (TrA). Interferential therapy (IFT) is capable of achieving uniform stimulation and high reproducibility, it is thought to be less stressful, as well as enhance deep muscle contraction. Also, there is the specific training of the TrA provided functional and therapeutic benefits, such as unloading of the spine, anticipatory postural control, intersegmental stabilization of the spine, and long-term pain relief. Draw-in is a typical TrA exercise. Many studies have mainly focused on the morphological aspects of paraspinal muscles which play an essential role in patients with CNSLBP while our study focused on influence of a combined IFT stimulation and abdominal draw-in exercises on the abdominal muscle thickness, TrA endurance, pain intensity and function disability in patients with chronic non-specific LBP (CNSLBP

MOTIVATE: Moving to Improve Outcomes for Older Adults

Back Pain Lower Back Chronic

The overarching goal of this study is to evaluate a tele-based behavioral change intervention for older adults (aged 50 years and older) with chronic low back pain (cLBP) and comorbid depression, and to ultimately assess its effect on cLBP-related disability and depressive symptoms. Investigators will conduct a pilot randomized control trial to assess feasibility for older adults with chronic low back pain and depression to receive a behavioral change tele-based intervention delivered by a health coach trained in motivational interviewing. All participants, regardless of intervention arm assigned, will undergo outcomes assessments (baseline, mid-point, final assessments) conducted by a blinded research assistant.
