Topical Delivery of Vitamin D3 as Vitamin D Supplementation

Vitamin D Deficiency

After obtaining the approval from the IRB of University of Dammam and informed consent from 550 healthy patients, with vitamin D deficiency and vitamin D insufficiency and deficiency were recruited. Age, weight and height will be taken, a detailed history, meticulous clinical examination was performed to rule out any diseases and complete blood picture, serum calcium, phosphorous, alkaline phosphatase, Parathormone and 25 Hydroxy-vitamin D (25OHD) will be done. 25-Hydroxy Vitamin D3 was measured in house by chemiluminescence immunoassay (CLIA) and ≥30ng/mL was taken as normal, 21-29ng/mL as insufficiency and ≤20 ng/mL as deficiency. The participants were divided into two groups of 350 in study arm and 200 in control arm. All participants were instructed not to change their dietary habits and life style till the study was over. The study group of women were instructed to apply to apply Top-D (Proniosomal Delivered- Vitamin D3) 1 gram containing 5000 IU of vitamin D3. The second group used 1 gram of Aloe vera gel. The participants had no knowledge to which group they belong. A second blood sample was taken at the end of 4 months and the data was entered in the data base and analyzed using SPSS Inc version 19.

Vitamin D3 Treatment and Homocysteine Concentrations Among Overweight Reproductive Women

HomocystinaemiaVitamin D Deficiency

100 overweight reproductive vitamin D deficient women were divided into two groups; vitamin D (n = 50) and placebo (n = 50). Vitamin D group received treatment dose of 50,000 IU of vitamin D3 per week for 2 consecutive months and placebo group received placebo tablets similar in size, shape and color to vitamin D3 for 2 months also. Total homocysteine concentrations were measured before intervention (basal), on 30 days (one month) and on 60 days (2 months) of intervention. Changes in means of homocysteine concentrations for placebo and vitamin D group over time showed significant difference on 30 and 60 days of intervention. Mean comparisons of homocysteine concentrations and standard error of the means before and after intervention showed statistical significant decrease in homocysteine concentrations among vitamin D group.

Synergistic Effect of Vitamin D Supplementation in Patients With Vitiligo and Vitamin D Deficiency...

Vitamin D DeficiencyVitiligo

This prospective, randomized, controlled study was approved by the Institutional Review Board of Hallym University Kangnam Sacred Heart Hospital (IRB no. 2018-04-017). All study participants consented the study and agreed the written informed consent. All participants who are applicable to the inclusion criteria were randomly assigned to two groups: the control group and the study group. Both groups were treated with phototherapy including 308-nm excimer laser or narrowband ultraviolet B (NB-UVB). Study group had vitamin D supplementation through the injection additionally.

Effects of Vitamin D Supplementation on Obesity, Inflammatory and Metabolic Markers

OverweightHypovitaminosis D

46 eligible overweight women with hypovitaminosis D are assigned to either vitamin D or control group using block randomization method. Vitamin D3 pearl (Zahravi Pharma Co, Tabriz, Iran) containing 50000 IU cholecalciferol or placebo are administered weekly for 12 weeks. Participants in both groups are structured to hold their sun exposure and physical activity habits and not take any vitamin supplements during the study.

The Effect Vitamin D on the Recovery Rate of Bell Palsy

Bell PalsyVitamin D Deficiency1 more

Patients aged between 18-65 who visit the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation outpatient clinic diagnosed with Bell Palsy will be included in the study. The patients' Bell Palsy grade will be evaluated by Houseman Brahman (HB) Scale and their disability level will be evaluated by Facial Disability Index (FDI). Their serum vitamin D level will be noted. The patients having vitamin D deficiency will be randomized into two groups. Group 1 will be given 50.000 IU/week vitamin D replacement for 8 weeks. All the patients will be included in a standard physical therapy and home exercise program. Both groups will be asked for a control visit at weeks 8.Their clinical recovery will be evaluated by HB staging and FDI by the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation specialist who is blind to the randomization.

Vitamin D Effect on A Disintegrin-like And Metalloprotease Thrombospondin1 Motif 13& Interleukin...

Acute Myeloid LeukemiaVitamin D Deficiency2 more

A Disintegrin-like And Metalloprotease with Thrombospondin type 1 motif 13 (ADAMTS13) deficiency was incriminated in poor prognosis, high probability of serious complications and mortality in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) patients. Interleukin 6 (IL-6) produced from AML blasts decreases Cluster of differentiation 34 positive(CD34+) cells differentiation, and inhibits the ADAMTS13 actions. Vitamin D "as an Immune-modulator" inhibits the pro-inflammatory cytokines including IL-6. So, supplementation of vitamin D might help down regulation of interleukin-6 production. Aim of the study To evaluate the potential relation between Vitamin D status, ADAMTS13 and IL-6 in AML patients. Objectives Assess Vitamin D level in AML patients Assess ADAMTS13 and IL-6 in AML patients Correlate between Vitamin D level and both of ADAMTS13 and IL-6
