Long-term Follow-up in Patients Affected With Acrofacial Vitiligo

Vitiligo

Acrofacial vitiligo is a clinical form of vitiligo characterized by macules in distal digits, periorificial-facial and ano-genital areas. Vitiligo European Task Force classifies vitiligo as generalized or localized; generalized vitiligo may be further sub-divided into acrofacial, vulgaris and universalis, and localized vitiligo, into segmental and focal. Some authors do not believe that acrofacial is a real vitiligo clinical form, considering it as an initial form of vulgaris vitiligo. The aim of this study is to follow early- diagnosed acrofacial patients during ten years in order to define if these patients will maintain this clinical form or will evolute to a more severe clinical form.

Gut Microbiome and Metabolic Pathways Changes in Vitiligo

Gut Microbiome

Vitiligo is a chronic depigmenting autoimmune-associated skin disease and a growing psychological health concern because of its low quality of life. Genetics, immunology and environment triggers contribute to the pathophysiology of vitiligo. Identify and decrease the risk factors of vitiligo is very crucial for vitiligo treatment and prevention. Emerging evidence has linked gut microbiome to human autoimmune diseases. Here the investigators will analyze 10,913 metagenomes in stool samples from 100 adult vitiligo patients and gut microbiome associated metabolites in patients serum.

Oral Ginkgo Biloba and Narrow Band UVB in the Treatment of Vitiligo

Vitiligo

Vitiligo is a common chronic skin disease with 1-4% prevalence. It has a significant psychosocial impact on patients and society. Different treatment modalities with variable success rates are available. Phototherapy is among the successful treatments but gives modest results. Some reports documented the usefulness of Ginkgo Biloba (GB) when used alone in Vitiligo treatment.

Cutaneous JAK in Vitiligo and Acne Vulgaris.

Vitiligo and Acne Vulgaris

The Janus kinase/signal transducer and activator of transcription (JAK-STAT) cytokine signaling pathway is an emerging area of interest in dermatology, and emerging evidence suggests that this pathway may play a crucial role in pathogenesis of inflammatory skin disorders. Recent advances on the role of cytokines in the pathophysiology of immune mediated inflammatory diseases lead to the understanding that many pro inflammatory interleukins use JAK/STAT components for signal transduction .

This study aims to describe the prevalence of additional autoimmune diseases and their specific antibodies at type 1 diabetes (T1D) diagnosis, and their incidence rate during follow-up, for children and adolescents. It also aims to describe the characteristics of the pediatric cohort followed since 2014 for type 1 diabetes by one of France's centers of reference for paediatric diabetes.
