Indocyanine Green Fluorescence Imaging, Sentinel Lymph Node Mapping in Patients With Vulvar Cancer...

Vulvar Cancer

The potential of the administration of indocyanine green (ICG) allows the execution of SLN biopsy, avoiding the multiple administrations of radiocolloid in the pre-operative phase, painful for the patient, elimination, and exposure to radioactivity. Therefore, while requiring standardization of the methodology and a large-scale application, this procedure could open a new surgical management perspective in patients with early-stage vulvar cancer.

A Survivorship Care Plan for Gynaecological Cancer Patients

Adenocarcinoma of the Gastroesophageal JunctionCervical Cancer8 more

After treatment women surviving gynaecological cancer may experience lateeffects and longterm challenges specific to their disease and treatment resulting in functional deficits and a reduction in societal integration (Yabroff et al., 2004, Yadav, 2007). The available research on best models of posttreatment rehabilitation support for women posttreatment for gynaecological cancer is limited. The primary objective of this study is to determine if there is any additional benefit, over usual rehabilitation care, of additional rehabilitation appointments to develop a survivorship care plan on cancer specific health related quality of life. Secondary objectives are to determine any additional benefit to general selfefficacy, generic health related quality of life or social and health economics for patients who have completed treatment for stage I or II gynaecological cancer. Also to explore the patient's perspectives of the intervention. The study will be open to patients attending the outpatient gynaecological clinics of the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust having recently completed treatment for Stage I or II gynaecological cancer. They will report that they have experienced a physical or psychosocial need resulting from the disease or its treatment; be aged over 18 years and be willing and able to articulate their needs. The study will last for six months for each participant. It will involve completing questionnaires and attending two extra rehabilitation appointments to develop a survivorship care plan at the hospital may also include attending for an interview about being involved in the study for those randomised to the intervention group

Education, Immigration and HPV Vaccination: an Informational Randomized Trial

Cervical CancerVulvar Cancer6 more

Counteracting misinformation on childhood vaccines remains a priority for public health in industrialized countries. Previous research showed that misinformation-induced vaccine hesitancy particularly concerns very highly or very lowly educated parents, and, especially in Europe, specific groups of immigrants. Misinformation framing directly targets specific sub-population of parents by exploiting different cognitive biases, and specific concerns based on cultural norms: this project aims at testing the effectiveness of similar framing techniques applied to positive information on the HPV vaccine by conducting a Randomized Controlled Trial in Stockholm, Sweden. It randomizes emotionally and scientifically/statistically framed information addressing the specific concerns reported by previous literature.

Palliative Care in Improving Quality of Life in Patients With High Risk Primary or Recurrent Gynecologic...

Cervical CarcinomaOvarian Carcinoma8 more

This randomized clinical trial studies a palliative care program in improving the quality of life of patients with high-risk gynecologic malignancies that is original or first tumor in the body (primary) or has come back (recurrent). Palliative care is care given to patients and their families facing the problems associated with life-threatening illness, through the prevention and relief of suffering by means of early identification and impeccable assessment and treatment of pain and other problems, physical, psychosocial and spiritual. Studying a palliative care program may help doctors learn more about patients quality of life, use of healthcare services, and the relief of pain.

A Non-Randomized Study to Evaluate Leg Lymphatic Drainage Associated With Surgical Intervention...

Vulvar Cancer

This will be a non-blinded, non-randomized study to further our knowledge of and experience with lymph node surgery. The investigators are interested in documenting and reporting the variations in leg lymphatic drainage sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB) with inguinal-femoral lymph node dissection (IFLND). The study will be open at the Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute at The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). Dr. Pamela Stone, Dr.Alexander Burnett, and Dr. Juan Roman will be responsible for accruing subjects to this study. It will be open to all patients presenting to the Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute with vulvar cancer requiring lymph node evaluation for the ipsilateral and/or contralateral groin who have not had prior groin surgery or radiation to the groins. Patients must meet inclusion and exclusion criteria to be enrolled.
