Neovascular Age-related Macular DegenerationThis is a prospective, multicenter, single arm study. The study group will be compose of NVAMD patients who had partial or complete failure responding to initial bevacizumab or ranibizumab treatment of 3-6 monthly intravitreal injections. The patients in the study groups will receive 5 intravitreal injections of aflibercept 2mg/0.05ml at specific visits. Aflibercept will be provided for total period of 24 weeks.

Neovascular Age-related Macular DegenerationIn people with neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD), the body makes too much of a protein called vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF). This causes too many blood vessels to grow in a part of the eye called the macula. These blood vessels can damage the macula, causing dark spots and blurriness in central vision. The study drug, aflibercept, works by reducing VEGF levels in the eye.It has already been approved for patients to receive as a treatment for nAMD in a fixed 8-weekly or treat-and-extend dosing regimen after having received 3 monthly doses at the start of treatment. In this study, the researchers want to learn more about how often patients received aflibercept and how their vision changed. The study will include patients with nAMD who had not received treatment to reduce VEGF levels in the eye before. These patients will have started treatment with aflibercept between January 2016 and November 2018. The study will include about 330 men and women who are at least 18 years old. All of the patients had received aflibercept eye injections based on their doctor's instructions. The researchers will use the patients' medical records from January 2016 to November 2020 to measure the following: the number of aflibercept eye injections the patients received how long the patients could wait between treatments the change in the patients' vision how many patients stopped treatment and why. associations between patient and disease characteristics at the start of treatment with the number of aflibercept injections and patient's vision during treatment.

Exudative Age-Related Macular DegenerationThe purpose of this study is to evaluate the fact that 20 milligrams per day of oral Zeaxanthin as a supplement to patients with Choroidal neovascularization (CNV) and exudative age related macular degeneration (ARMD) undergoing combination therapy with intravitreal Bevacizumab (Avastin), intravitreal Dexamethasone and PDT laser photocoagulation and improves anatomic and visual outcome compared to patients not receiving oral Zeaxanthin. Study patients will be taking AREDS(PreserVision) and multivitamins (Centrum Silver); in addition one-half of the patients will receive 20mg of oral Zeaxanthin.

Neovascular Age-related Macular DegenerationMacular DegenerationThe purpose of this prospective observational study is to assess the potential clinical effects of adjunctive verteporfin photodynamic therapy (PDT) for persistent disease activity among patients with neovascular age-related macular degeneration (NV AMD). No specific interventions will occur as part of the study; participating subjects undergoing PDT as part of standard-of-care will be asked to consent to prospective collection of data from their medical records for up to five years from the date of consent, including results from ophthalmologic exams, imaging, and treatments. The primary study outcome will be the percentage of subjects with resolution of persistent disease activity at six months post-PDT treatment. Aside from a small risk of loss of confidentiality, risks associated with this study are no greater than those related to standard of care.
