Evaluation of a Compliance Marker in Prescription Opioid Abusers With Chronic Pain
ComplianceChronic PainIn a small, well-characterized sample of prescription opioid abusers (POAs) with chronic pain and on buprenorphine therapy, this study will investigate the utility and feasibility of two novel tracer compounds, and in combination with a standard marker (riboflavin), to monitor adherence to study drug prescription in the parent clinical trial.
Posturographic Characteristics of Eccentric, Isometric and Concentric Movements
Chronic PainMusculoskeletal PainDetermine the posturographic characteristics of eccentric, isometric and concentric movements in healthy subjects as well as in subjects with chronic, orthopedic conditions / pain not involving the lower extremities. The squatting movement (going down from a stand up position, bending the ankle, knee and hip joints, and then returning to the stand up position, while not lifting the feet from the supporting ground surface) is a simple motion that involves all three types of movements: eccentric (the going down), isometric (holding the down position for a couple of seconds) and concentric (the coming up). It is hypothesized that non-healthy subjects will not have "smooth" movements, and posturography could be used to separate between healthy and non-healthy subjects.
Brief-Illness Perception Questionnaire (Brief-IPQ) Used in Patients With Chronic Non-malignant Pain....
Chronic Pain SyndromeWe wish to clarify whether we can demonstrate a correlation between scores in Brief-IPQ and the effect of treatment in patients referred to our department, Interdisciplinary Pain Center Zealand University Hospital Koege, Denmark. The purpose is to outline whether we can use Brief-IPQ with Chronic Pain disorders and thereby detect those of our referred patients who are at risk for poor treatment response in an early state. In these cases, we can offer psychological intervention at the beginning of the course of treatment, in order to optimize the conditions for patients and achieve an optimal treatment effect.
Study on the Use of Intraoperative Neurophysiological Monitoring in Spinal Cord Stimulator Trials...
PainChronic2 moreThis is an observational pilot study. The spinal cord stimulator (SCS) procedure and neuromonitoring device is not under investigation. Neuromonitoring is typically performed on this patient population receiving SCS trials here. This study is collecting the data that is transmitted into EPIC from the device that is being collected as part of the patients standard of care. This study will specifically look at Boston Scientific SCS trials as those are the majority of SCS devices that are used here at this medical center Primary Objective - To evaluate the difference between observed intraoperative neuromonitoring readings and patient reported coverage for spinal cord stimulator trials and Secondary Objective(s) - To evaluate the safety and tolerability of intraoperative neuromonitoring during spinal cord stimulator trials and via documented adverse events and patient elicited feedback on follow up questionnaires. Patient satisfaction using PGIC from one week to 6-months post procedure Change in pain intensity using NRS from baseline to 6-months post procedure This study will follow subjects in conjunction with thier standard of care SCS clinic visits. This includes the one week wound check at the pain clinic and then a 2 week end of study phone call.
Risk of Chronic Post-surgical Pain After TKA
Bilateral Total Knee Chronic Pain Following ArthroplastyChronic post-surgical pain (CPSP) is a common surgical complication. The role of timing in the development of CPSP after bilateral total knee arthroplasty (BTKA) is not well studied. We aimed to compare the occurrence of CPSP in patients who underwent simultaneous or staged BTKA without discharge between procedures.
Investigation of the Relationship of Pain Perception and Pain Belief With Age in People With Chronic...
Chronic PainLow Back PainThis study was planned to investigate the relationship between pain perceptions and pain beliefs of individuals in different age groups with chronic low back pain and symptom severity.
The Influence of the Volume of Injuries and Surgical Operations on the Results of Pain Treatment...
Chronic PainTreatment of pain in patients with gunshot and mine-explosive injuries in the stages of treatment is important, because in 82.1% the pain becomes chronic. This indicates that treatment results need to be improved. One of the factors that can influence the outcome of pain treatment is the extent of damage and surgery.
Predictors of Pain Chronicity in Patients With Gunshot and Mine-explosive Wounds
Chronic PainWidespread82.1% of patients with gunshot and mine-explosive wounds during hostilities in Ukraine have negative results of pain treatment, which leads to its chronicity. Identifying predictors of pain chronicity in these patients may improve their treatment outcomes.
Technology on the Occurrence of Muscoskeletal Disorders in Students
PainChronic1 moreTo investgate the long use of electronic devices that forces the person to adopt an uncomfortable posture which leads to the appearance of musculoskeletal disorders such as neck pain, thoracic pain, back pain and tendonitis of the upper extremities due to writing messages and especially when the person uses only one hand.
Chronic Neuropathy Following Chemotherapy
Peripheral Nervous System DiseasesChronic PainThis is a clinical study which is a follow-up of a previous prospective questionnaire study. All patients who previously participated in the study will receive a new questionnaire and will be invited for a clinical examination.
