The Greek Version of the Chronic Pain Grade Questionnaire (CPGQ)
Chronic Hip PainThe aim of the present study is to investigate and report on the psychometric properties of a Greek version of the Chronic Pain Grade Questionnaire (CPGQ).
Repetitive Thinking in FibroMyalgia and Attentional Bias
Chronic PainTheoretical models of chronic pain hypothesize a privileged treatment of pain-related information that would be the basis of avoidance behaviors in chronic pain. This privileged treatment, also called attentional bias, has been found experimentally in chronic pain. Meta-analyses confirmed that but leaded the question of the difference found between bias in period of attention orientation and bias in period of maintained attention. One of the hypotheses is to consider one or more cognitive processes that would "fix" the attention around significant perceived problems and that would hinder the attentional disengagement and the reorientation of attention towards neutral or positive stimuli. In view of the scientific literature in psychopathology but also in chronic pain we think that the negative repetitive thoughts (RNT) variable is one of these processes. So the investigators want to better understand the difference of attentional bias at different moments of the attentional process by interrogating the Repetitive Thinking variable. More specifically the investigators test the Attentional Bias hypothesis in Fibromyalgia. Patient with Fibromyalgia will be recruited at the Pain Center of CHU-Amiens. Patients will complete different scales and also the visual probe task. First, the investigators hypothesize the attention bias for pain-related information in the FM group is correlated with the level of negative repetitive thinking in the maintained attention phase. Second, the investigators hypothesize the attention bias is more important in the attention maintenance phase (1250 ms) than in the attention orientation phase (500 ms).
Description of Chronic Pain in Emergencies Room and Medical Care Modalities
Chronic PainEmergency DepartmentThe rate of patients with chronic pain (CP) is 40% in patients with acute pain in emergency department (ED). Patients with CP come more frequently to ED than patients without CP. Reasons for their visit to ED are often in relation with this CP. Few studies have been interested to management modalities of these patients in ED. The investigators are going to realize a prospective observational study in one center. The hypothesis is that patients with chronic pain are less satisfied of ED management that patients without CP.
Objective Pain Score for Chronic Pain Clinic Patients
Chronic PainCurrently, there is no observational pain scale for use in the outpatient setting for adult patients. An observational pain scale can allow for objective measurement of pain in patients over time and after treatment without the bias associated with self-report. Currently chronic pain patients are asked to rate their pain many times throughout their care, often over years. This introduces a bias in reporting as a pain a person is currently experiencing will seem more severe then a remembered pain event. A behavioral pain scale would allow for an objective measurement of pain that is reliable across multiple raters and comparable over time, which can help in judging the success of pain treatments.
Peculiarities of Pain in Patients With Gunshot Wounds Depending on the Localization of the Wound...
Chronic PainChronic pain, in turn, is associated with a whole cohort of mutually aggravating factors - this can lead to the development of extremely serious long-term consequences. The features of pain in this category of patients have not been sufficiently studied. Taking into account continuity and consistency, clear and high-quality pain treatment is necessary at all stages of treatment.
HEALTHCARE STUDENTS' ATTITUDES TOWARDS PATIENTS WITH CHRONIC PAIN
Attitude to the Patient With Chronic PainAttitude of Health Care StudentsResearchers studied the attitude towards patients with chronic pain, it is a very important issue for the literature. The prevalence of chronic pain is very high in the world, however, patients with chronic pain state at every opportunity that patients are not sufficiently understood and stigmatized by healthcare professionals. In this article, researchers studied the validity and reliability of the scale of the attitude of healthcare professionals towards their patients with chronic pain in students studying in the field of health (medicine, physical therapy and rehabilitation, nursing). Researchers found that the Healthcare Professionals' Attitudes towards Patients with Chronic Pain Scale was valid and reliable in healthcare students. Thanks to this scale, students' attitudes towards patients with chronic pain will be measured, and an idea will be gained about the student's deficiency.
Turkish Version of Pain Modulation Index
Chronic PainIn order to assess the validity and reliability of the Turkish version of Pain Modulation Index, 125 volunteers with chronic pain were enrolled in the study. Test and re-test method was used to assess reliability and correlation analyses with Pain Detect, visual analog scale pain and central sensitization inventory scores were used to assess validity of the questionnaire. Turkish version of the Pain Modulation Index was found to be a valid and reliable tool for evaluating chronic pain.
Cancer Chronic Pain Predicted by Emotional and Cognitive Status
Chronic PainCancerThe aim of this study is to investigate the predictive dimension of cognitive-emotional status of cancer patients on the chronic pain development 6 months after different cancer treatment protocol (surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, hormone therapy, targeted therapy ...).
Study to Test the Value of a Pain Modulation Test in Predicting Persistent Postoperative Pain After...
Chronic PainAcute PainThe purpose of this study is to test the hypothesis that a preoperative test of pain modulation predicts persistent pain 4 months after breast cancer surgery. In addition, a risk score for the prediction of persistent pain will be developed from parameters available before surgery.
Effect of Chemotherapy on Pain Sensitivity and Patient-reported Symptoms
Breast CancerChronic PainMany breast cancer survivors report chronic pain that develops or worsens following chemotherapy. The impact of chemotherapy on the development of chronic pain is uncertain. In this proposal, we are studying the impact of chemotherapy on a patient's sensitivity to pain. We are also investigating whether a patient's sensitivity to pain is related to how many symptoms she experiences during treatment.
