Spinal Cord InjuriesThis study is a prospective national survey of body mass index, and includes all patients with a new spinal cord injury hospitalized at Clinic for Spinal Cord Injuries, Rigshospitalet and Spinal Cord Injury Center of Western Denmark during a period of 9 months. Informed consent is retrieved from all participants.

This study purpose is to study this BNA technology in individuals who have sustained a concussion.
Sprint Performance in Football Players With a Previous Hamstring Injury
Sprint PerformanceHamstring InjuryFew studies indicate that sprint performance may be impaired in football players with a previous hamstring strain injury. This exploratory cross-sectional study aim to compare sprint performance between football players with and without a previous hamstring strain injury. The findings may elucidate potential indications of insufficient rehabilitation following a hamstring strain injury. Sprint performance data will be collected using the MySprint Iphone Application. Due to pragmatic reasons and the exploratory nature of this study the aim is to include players on a team level. Based on the prevalence of hamstring strain injuries the expected number of cases to be included are 10-20 football players with a previous hamstring strain injury, and a corresponding 80-90 number of healthy controls. No outcomes will be weighted (flat outcome structure).

Multiple TraumaCoagulation Disorder2 moreCoagulation factor XIII (FXIII), a plasma transglutaminase, is known as the final enzyme of the coagulation cascade, responsible for a cross-linking of fibrin to strengthen blood clot. It also minimizes fibrin degradation by its cross-linking it with alfa2-antiplasmin molecules. It has been found that similar to plasma fibrinogen level, FXIII activity can be reduced in the early phase of severe trauma. Therefore, its immediate substitution is of potential therapeutic interest in trauma-induced coagulopathy. However, unlike plasma fibrinogen level evaluation, measurement of the FXIII activity is not routinely available. Therefore, targeted substitution of FXIII is practically impossible. The plasma fibrinogen level is routinely measured in severe trauma patients. Based on pathophysiologic assumptions and a limited number of published data we hypothesize that the FXIII activity correlates with fibrinogen level. In such case, indirect FXIII activity prediction by fibrinogen level measurement would be a convenient approach to enable FXIII targeted substitution. Therefore we decided to perform a prospective observational clinical trial to determine whether the low plasma fibrinogen level in severe trauma correlates with decreased FXIII activity.

It is unclear whether this type of warfare cause more extensive abdominal injuries to civilians than combatants. All patients admitted with penetrating abdominal injury subjected to an exploratory laparotomy at Emergency Hospital, Erbil, between October 17, 2016 and July 16, 2017 will be included. Differences in demographics, injury mechanism, time since injury, clinical status on arrival, intraoperative findings, postoperative complications and outcome will be studied.

Wound Inflammatory Cells After Cardiac Surgery
Sternotomy WoundOne hundred patients, aged from 41 to 78 years, underwent open heart surgery in the years 1998-1999 and were studied by using the Cellstick device for harvesting wound inflammatory cells during the first 24 hours after surgery. The results of the differential count were computerized by using artificial neural network for obtaining wound inflammatory cell node (WICN). The patients were followed up for sixteen years or to the death. WICN values were compared with the patients´ survival.
