Is There a Relationship Between the Risk of Injury and Posture in Wrestlers?
Sport InjuryPosture2 moreThis study was planned to investigate the relationship between the risk of injury and posture in wrestlers. The study will be included male wrestlers. The spine posture and flexibility of the athletes will be measured during standing position with the Idiag M360® brand Spinal Mouse (SM), while the overall body posture will be measured from the anterior and lateral sides using the New York Posture Analysis Method (NYPAM). Injury risks of the athletes will be evaluated by Functional Movement Screen (FMS) which was consisting of seven basic movement patterns.
Acute Kidney Injury Risk in COVID-19
Sever Acute Respiratory Syndrome and Acute Kidney InjuryAcute Kidney InjuryBackground. Within a year, COVID-19 has advanced from being an outbreak to a pandemic, spreading rapidly and globally with devastating impact. Currently, there is an ongoing debate among scientists about the pathophysiological relationship between COVID-19 and acute kidney injury (AKI). While a few studies have concluded that the mechanisms of AKI in COVID-19 patients are seemingly multifactorial and have not been fully explicated, others asserted that AKI remains rare among COVID-19-related diseases. Considering this knowledge-gap and its potential impact on the management of COVID-19-associated AKI, our study aims to explore the prevalence of AKI and to identify possible risk factors associated with AKI development among COVID-19 hospitalized patients. Materials and Methods. This retrospective cohort study included 83 patients with COVID-19 hospitalized at AL-AHRAR Hospital, Zagazig, Egypt, between June and August,2020. Exclusion criteria were: patients younger than 18 years of age; diagnosed with end stage kidney disease; placed on maintenance dialysis; booked for a kidney transplant or on nephrotoxic medications. All patients included in the study underwent complete blood count; liver and renal function tests; examination of hemostasis parameters; inflammatory markers; serum electrolytes; routine urinalysis; arterial blood gas and non-enhanced chest and abdominal computer tomography (CT) scans
Does Probiotic Supplementation Prevent Kidney Injury During Strenuous Physical Exercise?
Heat StressKidney InjurySevere heat strain arising from intense physical work under climate conditions that does not allow sufficient heat dissipation may lead to heat stroke. This severe conditions is hypothesized to be secondary to increased gut permeability and leakage of bacterial toxins across the gut membrane, stimulating a systematic inflammatory response and associated organ injury. Repeated such sub-clinical increases in gut permeability has been suggested to contribute to the high burden of chronic kidney disease among heat-stressed workers. Many marathon runners experience a transient increase in kidney injury biomarkers while running. Probiotics have been studied as a way to decrease gut permeability and reduce systemic inflammation in many settings, including in athletes . However, no study has measured renal outcomes among workers or athletes performing strenuous activity. This is of interest as it could test the hypothesis that gut-induced inflammation is a driver of kidney injury during heat stress, and could point to a possible intervention to add on to efforts to relieve heat strain. In the present study, recreational or professional runners will be randomized to take a probiotic supplement or placebo during a 4 week period preceding a strenuous physical exercise (minimum 21 km run). Urine samples will be taken before and after the run, and analyzed for markers of renal injury and inflammation.
Research on Acetabular Labrum Injury Based on MR: Multi-angle Deep Learning Model
Labrum Injury of the Hip JointThe purpose of this study is to study the MRI images of acetabular labrum injury by deep learning method, and try to establish a combination model of axial and coronal serial images, and compare with the diagnostic accuracy of radiologists, to establish a deep learning method for accurate identification and classification of acetabular labrum injury.
Acute Kidney Injury Among COVID-19 Positive Patients
COVID-19 Positive Patients With Acute Kidney InjuryIn Kuwait, the total number of COVID-19 confirmed cases exceeds 5000 patients. Risk factors of possible risk factors of confirmed COVID-19 infection that developed major organ dysfunction are not yet identified among patients in Kuwait. we aimed to describe the clinical characteristics of hospitalized symptomatic COVID-19 positive patients, assess possible risk factors of confirmed COVID-19 infection who developed major organ dysfunction, determine risk factors for renal dysfunction and their outcome and assess the response of critically ill patients to different therapeutic modalities.
Real-World Experience of Patients Treated for Musculoskeletal Injuries With SAM in Routine Care...
Musculoskeletal InjuryPain9 moreThe purpose of this study is to evaluate continuous ultrasound treatment with diclofenac coupling patch during routine care of musculoskeletal injuries which failed conservative treatment to better understand clinical utilization of the treatment on types of injuries, how the treatment helps patients (pain, function and quality of life), and information on healthcare provider ordering the therapy and general workflow. Low-intensity continuous ultrasound (LICUS) is a bio regenerative technology used when normal rehabilitation is insufficient, applied with a wearable device (SAM, Zetroz Systems LLC) for daily use. The treatment provides long-duration ultrasound for approximately four hours. The objective of this study is to examine the real-world outcome data on symptoms improvement and return to function using SAM during routine care.
National Investigation in College and High School Among Adolescents on Health and Substances at...
Psychiatric DisorderSomatic Symptom1 moreFor the clinical component: Describe the young people hospitalised in residential care at the FSEF, in particular through vulnerability factors and their psychosocial repercussions (school level, repetition, intensity of symptoms, irritability, nervousness, substance use (cannabis, alcohol, tobacco), social relationships, family relationships, well-being, level of health literacy, learning disorders)) and to compare them with young people from the general school population. For the epidemiological aspect: To study the construct validity of the EnCLASS questions aiming to characterize handicap situations in the general school population in both a population in situation of psychic handicap and of somatic handicap.
Has The COVID-19 Pandemic Affected Injury in Football?
InjuriesThis study aims to compare the injuries that occurred in the football players after the isolation and lack of training caused by New Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19), with the previous season, based on the example of a professional football team in Turkey.
Shoulder Muscle Imbalance as a Risk Factor for Shoulder Injury in Elite Badminton Players
Sport InjuryShoulder InjuriesBackground: To assess the impact of pre-season clinical measures and rotator muscles strength on the risk of significant shoulder injury (SSI) in elite badminton players Design: Prospective cohort study Participants: Nineteen elite adolescents badminton players were included and followed over the badminton season (from september 2018 to may 2019 and/or from september 2019 to may 2020) . Independent variables: A pre-season visit consisted in clinical and isokinetic shoulder strength testing. Clinical testing consisted in the shoulder range of motion (ROM) measurements and the table-to-acromion distance (TAD)Isokinetic internal and external rotator shoulder muscles strength was tested at 60 and 240°/s. Conventional and functional (eccentric-to-concentric) ratios (FR) were calculated. SSI collection was performed by an experienced sport physician.
