Uterine Fibroids With Menorrhagia

Phase II:To explore the optimal effective dose of SHR7280 tablets in subjects with menorrhagia with uterine fibroids as a phase III treatment dose. Phase III:To evaluate the efficacy of the selected dose of SHR7280 compared with placebo in reducing menstrual bleeding in subjects with menorrhagic uterine fibroids in phase II studies.

Asymptomatic Carotid Stenosis and Mobility Function With Exercise Intervention

Asymptomatic Carotid Stenosis (50-69%)Mobility Impairment

Moderate (50-69%) asymptomatic carotid artery stenosis (ACAS) is an important and under-appreciated contributor to balance and mobility dysfunction. This is significant because declines in balance and mobility are a significant predictor of falls, disability, loss of independence, and death in older adults. Further, falls and fall-related injuries in older adults cost approximately 50 billion dollars annually in the United States, and are the leading cause of adverse events reported by the Veterans Health Administration. This proposal seeks to: 1) investigate the impact of a supervised aerobic and challenging balance exercise program on balance and mobility function in patients with moderate ACAS; and 2) elucidate whether these changes are related to changes in cerebral perfusion. With 830,000 Veterans estimated to have moderate ACAS and at risk for balance and mobility dysfunction and increased falls, the findings from this study could have significant impacts on the clinical management, quality of life, and functional independence of Veterans with moderate ACAS.

A Multicenter, Randomized, Parallel-controlled Clinical Trial Protocol to Validate the Safety and...

A Steep Pulse Therapy System for the Treatment of Liver Tumors

This clinical trial is a multicenter, randomized, parallel-controlled study. In this study, patients with liver cancer were selected as the research subjects, and the subjects were randomly divided into the experimental group and the control group. The experimental group used the steep pulse treatment system produced by Zhejiang CuraWay Medical Technology Co., Ltd., and the control group used the RF Ablation System produced by Covidien llc. A total of 5 or 9 visits were planned in this study, namely the screening period (-14-0 days), the day of the first ablation, 2 ± 1 days after the first ablation, 30 ± 5 days after the first ablation, and after the first ablation 90±7 days, the day of secondary ablation, 2±1 days after secondary ablation, 30±5 days after secondary ablation, and 90±7 days after secondary ablation. The complete ablation rate at 30 ± 5 days after the first ablation was used as the main efficacy evaluation index to evaluate the safety and efficacy of the steep pulse therapy system produced by Zhejiang CuraWay Medical Technology Co., Ltd. for liver tumor ablation.

Open-label Study to Evaluate the Safety of Various Dosing Regimens of MuSK-CAART for MuSK Myasthenia...

MuSK Myasthenia Gravis

Muscle-specific tyrosine kinase (MuSK) myasthenia gravis (MG) is a rare but potentially severe disease, in which patients develop pathogenic autoantibodies that specifically target the MuSK protein in the neuromuscular junction. This phase 1 study is being conducted to evaluate the safety of various dosing regimens of an investigational cell therapy, MuSK-CAART, that can be given to patients with anti-MuSK antibody positive Myasthenia Gravis (MuSK MG), who have active disease. Various dosing regimens of MuSK-CAART alone, in combination with cyclophosphamide (CY), and in combination with CY and fludarabine (FLU) will be evaluated. Treatment with MuSK-CAART may potentially lead to complete and durable remission of disease.

Sleep Treatment for Teens

Sleep ProblemSuicidal Ideation2 more

The purpose of this research study is to test a brief (6-session), empirically supported, and highly disseminable version of digital (i.e., smartphone or web-based) cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (dCBT-I), called SleepioTM, in suicidal adolescents with co-occurring insomnia during the high-risk post-hospitalization period. Suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death among adolescents. Sleep problems, such as insomnia symptoms-the most common sleep problem in youth-may be a particularly promising treatment target to reduce suicide risk in adolescents. The investigators propose to test the feasibility, acceptability, and effectiveness of dCBT-I in a two-site (Rutgers and Old Dominion University) pilot study trial. Adolescents, 14-18 years-old, recently hospitalized for suicide risk with co-occurring insomnia (n=20 pilot, 50% at each site), will receive dCBT-I (six weekly, 20-minute sessions) plus post-hospitalization treatment-as-usual (TAU). Adolescents will complete assessments pre-treatment, during the treatment phase including at the end of treatment, and 1-month follow-up post-treatment.

Effects of Exercise Training on Exercise Capacity and Sleep Quality in Patients With Obesity Hypoventilation...

Obesity Hypoventilation Syndrome (OHS)Hypoventilation3 more

Obesity Hypoventilation Syndrome is defined as a combination of obesity (BMI ≥ 30 kg/m2) and daytime hypercapnia in arterial blood gas analysis (PaCO2 > 45 mmHg) without other pathologies that cause hypoventilation. Symptoms seen in individuals diagnosed with OHS are stated as a feeling of suffocation due to apnea, loud snoring, morning headache and excessive daytime sleepiness. Respiratory mechanics, respiratory muscle performance, pulmonary gas exchange, lung functions and exercise capacity parameters are adversely affected in patients. Early treatment is important so that these negative changes do not lead to worse outcomes. Weight control, bariatric surgery, pharmacological treatment and non-invasive mechanical ventilation (NIMV) are included in the treatment program of OHS patients. The effects of exercise on the treatment program of OHS patients are unknown. Considering all the studies in the literature, the primary purpose of this study is to evaluate aerobic and strength training on exercise capacity and sleep quality in patients with hypoventilation syndrome. The secondary aim is to examine the effect of this exercise training on peripheral muscle strength, emotional state, body composition and quality of life parameters. In addition, the researchers believe that this study will form the basis for further scientific studies on OHS and exercise and will make an important contribution to the literature.

A Comparison of Two Brief Suicide Prevention Interventions Tailored for Youth on the Autism Spectrum...

Suicidal IdeationSuicidal and Self-injurious Behavior2 more

Rates of suicide have increased significantly over the past two decades, particularly among youth. Compared to the general population, autistic people are significantly more likely to think about suicide, attempt suicide, and die by suicide. Autistic individuals have identified suicide prevention as a top research priority; however, little is known about how to best help autistic youth at risk for suicide. The purpose of this study is to compare the effectiveness, feasibility, and acceptability of two suicide prevention strategies tailored for autistic individuals: the Safety Planning Intervention tailored for Autistic individuals (SPI-A) and SPI-A plus structured follow-up contacts (SPI-A+).

Galactagogue Use in Lactating Women With Low Milk Supply

Breast Milk Expression

This study aims to determine whether a 20-day supplement with either Oat Mama Lactation Supplement, moringa, or shatavari has any impact on milk production through an increase in serum prolactin levels when compared to the placebo group. This data will be used to determine if clinical recommendations can be made for the use of the studied supplements in increasing milk supply.
