Neck PainChronic PainIn the current clinical and scientific reality, conservative treatment is the most coherent clinical management with a view to the proper rehabilitation of patients with chronic neck pain, with a trend towards the use of therapeutic exercise. However, some uncertainty about the effectiveness of therapeutic exercises still remains, requiring further studies with high methodological rigor, especially with regard to multimodal treatment, such as the combination of therapeutic exercises with photobiomodulation. Thus, the objective of this project is to evaluate the effects of adding photobiomodulation to a program of specific therapeutic exercises for the treatment of individuals with chronic non-specific neck pain. For this, 60 participants will be randomized into two groups: therapeutic exercise group + photobiomodulation (n = 30), and therapeutic exercise group (n = 30). There will be 10 treatment sessions and participants will be evaluated before, after the 10 sessions, and 4 weeks after the end of treatment using the Numerical Pain Scale, Neck Disability Index, Catastrophic Thoughts about Pain Scale, and Tampa Kinesiophobia Scale. In the statistical analysis, a linear mixed model will be applied, considering the interaction between the time and group factors. Finally, the addition of photobiomodulation to a therapeutic exercise program is expected to generate clinical improvements for patients with chronic neck pain.

Acute Myeloid LeukemiaThis phase II study compares the order of treatment with ivosidenib or enasidenib and azacitidine plus venetoclax in treating older patients with acute myeloid leukemia with genetic changes in the IDH1 or IDH2 genes (IDH mutated). Ivosidenib is in a class of medications called isocitrate dehydrogenase-1 (IDH1) inhibitors. It works by slowing or stopping the growth of cancer cells. Enasidenib is in a class of medications called an IDH2 inhibitor. It also works by slowing or stopping the growth of cancer cells. Venetoclax is in a class of medications called B-cell lymphoma-2 (BCL-2) inhibitors. It may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking Bcl-2, a protein needed for cancer cell survival. Azacitidine is in a class of medications called demethylation agents. It works by helping the bone marrow to produce normal blood cells and by killing abnormal cells. This study may help researchers determine which treatment order is best for older patients with IDH mutated acute myeloid leukemia: 1) ivosidenib or enasidenib followed by azacitidine plus venetoclax; or 2) azacitidine plus venetoclax followed by ivosidenib or enasidenib.

Anxiety DisordersLong treatment durations may not always be feasible for patients due to pressure to get better quickly, long travel distance to treatment clinics, inflexible working hours, or childcare. To overcome these challenges intensive treatments are currently emerging and several research studies have shown significant and lasting results of diagnosis-specific intensive treatments. A transdiagnostic treatment in a group setting can contribute to a more efficient course of treatment for patients. Research suggests that Metacognitive Therapy (MCT) is an effective treatment for anxiety disorders. However, MCT has not previously been used on inpatients over a two-week period. To make the treatment tangible for patients and easy to administer for therapists over a short time, attention training technique (ATT) will mainly be used as a changing technique. The main aim of the study is to explore the feasibility and efficacy of intensive and short-term MCT for anxiety disorders in a group setting.
