The Efficiency of Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation in the Treatment of Anorexia Nervosa

Anorexia Nervosa

The main goal of the study (a 3-week, randomized, double-blind, and placebo-controlled study) is to determine the effect of Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS) on the mental state and advances in nutritional rehabilitation in patients with AN. The primary hypothesis assumes that tDCS will reduce the symptoms of depression, improve cognition functions and it will have a positive effect on the reduction of restriction related to body weight and diet.

Comparison of QLB Block and TAP Block in Morbid Obese Patients

PainPostoperative

Quadratus lumborum block (QLB) and Transversus abdominis plane (TAP) blocks are regional anesthesia techniques that are frequently used to reduce postoperative pain and are an important part of the current analgesic regimen for many abdominal surgeries. In our clinic, researchers perform both blocks to provide postoperative analgesia. The primary aim of our study is to compare the effectiveness of TAP block and QLB block in postoperative pain control in laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy. Secondary outcomes evaluated in this study were to assess postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV), time to discharge, and patient satisfaction.

Comparison of Postoperative Recovery of Sevoflurane and Propofol After Transsphenoidal Surgery

Pituitary Adenoma

Currently, total intravenous anesthesia (TIVA) and inhaled anesthesia are both commonly used for transsphenoidal pituitary adenoma resection. However, optimal choice for anesthesia maintenance in transsphenoidal surgery remains unclear. Previous studies focusing on this question provided fragmentary assessment and controversial results. The goal of this clinical trial is to investigate whether propofol and sevoflurane have different effect on post-anesthetic recovery after transsphenoidal resection of pituitary adenoma.

Strategies and Treatments for Respiratory Infections &Amp; Viral Emergencies (STRIVE): Immune Modulation...

COVID-19

COVID-19 can trigger a dysregulated immune response, and previous studies have shown that immune modulation can improve outcomes in hospitalized patients. This trial is designed to determine whether intensification of immune modulation early in the course of the disease (while patients are on low flow oxygen) with abatacept (active arm) combined with standard of care (SOC) improves recovery as compared with placebo + SOC (placebo arm). For both groups, intensification of immunomodulation will be provided as part of SOC in case of signs of disease progression (patient requires high flow nasal oxygen (HFNO) or more support) and/or if the patient has rapidly increasing oxygen requirement.

Conservative Management for Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis

Scoliosis; Adolescence

Idiopathic scoliosis is a living problem that resists correction. The underlying cause of the such disorder is unknown but directed more toward muscular disorders. However recent clinical observation showed a possible neuromuscular compromise early in those patients. The main purpose of this study is to develop a treatment procedure to correct the degree of bony curvature in patients with Idiopathic scoliosis through developing a neuromuscular corrective approach that might be a more effective conservative treatment protocol for such disorder.

Progressive Supranuclear Palsy

The study will be conducted by the Sponsor to evaluate the efficacy and safety of GV1001 (0.56 mg and 1.12 mg) administered subcutaneously as a treatment for Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, (PSP). In 75 patients diagnosed with PSPR Richardson(PSP-RS) or PSP-Parkinsonism (PSP-P) at five hospitals in Korea, subcutaneous administration of GV1001 0.56 or 1.12 mg/day will be conducted with multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel design, prospective phase 2a.
