TPN-101 in Aicardi-Goutières Syndrome (AGS)
Aicardi-Goutières Syndrome (AGS)A phase 2a multi-center, open-label single dose level study of TPN-101 in Patients with Aicardi-Goutières Syndrome (AGS)
Physiotherapy Treatment of Shoulder Rotator Cuff Tendinopathies. Global Postural Reeducation or...
Rotator Cuff TendinosisThe goal of this clinical trial is to compare in participant population (patients with rotator cuff tendinopathy of the shoulder) the effect of a Global Postural Reeducation (GPR) program vs. a nonspecific therapeutic (aerobic) exercise program
A Randomized Study of XEN1101 Versus Placebo in Focal-Onset Seizures
Focal Onset SeizuresThe X-TOLE2 Phase 3 clinical trial is a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study that will evaluate the clinical efficacy, safety and tolerability of XEN1101 administered as adjunctive therapy in focal-onset seizures.
Safety, Tolerability, and Feasibility of Empagliflozin Therapy in Dialysis-dependent ESKD
End-stage Kidney DiseaseKidney Disease7 moreThe purpose of this study is to find out if empagliflozin, a new diabetic medication that has been shown to be very effective in lowering the risk of heart failure, is safe and tolerated in dialysis patients. In the recent years, empagliflozin has become a major tool to prevent heart failure hospitalization and to reduce the risk for cardiovascular death in diabetic and non-diabetic patients. Although patients with severe chronic kidney disease and ESKD have very high risk of heart failure and cardiovascular death, they have been excluded from all of the previous studies. If this medication is found to be well tolerated and safe in dialysis patients through this study, future clinical studies can evaluate if this medication can also reduce the risk of heart failure and cardiovascular death in dialysis patients.
Canadian Adaptive Platform Trial of Treatments for COVID-19 in Community Settings
COVID-19CanTreatCOVID is an open-label, individually randomized, multi-centre, national trial. CanTreatCOVID aims to establish an adaptive platform trial aimed at evaluating the clinical- and cost-effectiveness, practical challenges, and outcomes of therapeutics for SARS-CoV-2 for non-hospitalized patients in Canada. Participants will be randomized to receive usual care (i.e. supportive care and symptom relief) or a study therapeutic, which will be determined by the Canadian COVID-19 Out-Patient Therapeutics Committee. The primary outcomes being evaluated is hospitalization and/or death at 28 days, as well as time to recovery.
Mindfulness-SOS for Refugees
Stress DisordersPost-Traumatic1 moreWorldwide, refugees and asylum seekers suffer at high rates from trauma and stress-related mental health problems. The research group therefore developed, and initially piloted in a single-site open trial, a novel mindfulness- and compassion-based digital intervention program - Mindfulness-SOS for refugees (Mindfulness-SOS). The pilot study had promising preliminary findings of utilization, feasibility and related dose-response effects of intervention program engagement with mental health outcomes. The digital intervention program was developed based on randomized control trial data of a group-based mindfulness- and compassion-based program for forcibly displaced people. To address common limitations of mobile health interventions such as attrition, engagement and adherence, the investigators will implement a personalized stepped-care adaptation and augmentation of Mindfulness-SOS, that entails providing intensified (remote) guidance for FDPs that do not respond to the intervention, to optimize capacity to therapeutically benefit from Mindfulness-SOS. To do so, the investigators propose to carry out a randomized controlled Sequential Multiple Assignment Randomized Trial (SMART) study to test and optimize the therapeutic outcomes of Mindfulness-SOS, using an adaptive intervention sequence of guidance format intensities among N ≅ 170 (50% female) adult trauma-affected Eritrean asylum-seekers residing in Israel.
Oligo-Fucoidan Decrease Lung Radiation Damage
Radiation ToxicityFucoidan is FDA approved and in common use for treatment of angina. These studies will advance that work to human use. Successful mitigation of lung radiation damage and heart toxicity will improve the quality of life in veterans and non-veterans who are treated for lung cancer by radiation, and may also improve cure rates of radiation therapy for lung cancer.
A Study to Evaluate EDP-235 in Non-hospitalized Adults With COVID-19
COVID-19Study of EDP-235 in Non-hospitalized Adults with Mild or Moderate COVID-19.
Home-based Biofeedback for the Prevention of Migraine
MigraineThe goal of this clinical trial is to test an app-based biofeedback treatment in adults with migraine. The aim of the study is to investigate the safety and effectiveness of biofeedback treatment using the medical device Cerebri, compared to wait-list controls. Participants will perform 10 minutes biofeedback daily, in addition to daily registrations in the headache diary. Wait-list controls will complete daily registrations in the headache diary during the same period. Researchers will compare the reduction in the number of days with migraine from baseline per 28-day period between treatment group and the wait-list group.
Clinical Study of PAL-222 Targeting Patients With Myopic Chorioretinal Atrophy (PAMyCA)
Myopic Chorioretinal AtrophyThe goal of this clinical trial is to assess efficacy and safety in patients with myopic chorioretinal atrophy. The main question it aims to answer are: • Percentage of changes in the chorioretinal atrophic area Participants will be implanted one sheet of PAL-222 into the subretinal space through pars plana vitrectomy. Researchers will compare non-therapeutic eye to see if the changes is significant different.
