Effect of Usage Time of Helmet in Babies With Deformational Plagiocephaly

Non Synostotic Plagiocephaly

Investigating the optimal usage time of helmet therapy is the aim of the study. Participants will be babies with deformational plagiocephaly. Plagiocephalometric assesments will be utilize to follow improvement of head symmetry. Scales asking sensational integration and severity of plagiocephaly will also be used. Time of daily usage will be follow with daily asking the caregivers how long the baby wear the helmet in a day. Participants will follow for three months.

Prostate Impendance Test Project

Prostatic NeoplasmsPSA2 more

Impedance-based analysis could provide an adequate response to the need to identify a safe and reliable tool alternative to bioptic diagnosis. Patients who are candidates for prostate biopsy as suffering from urinary symptoms accompanied by clinical suspicions such as high total PSA value and / or presence of prostate nodule and / or evidence of obvious lesion to available imaging methods will be subjected to impedance measurement. Aim of this study is to be able to structure a bivariate analysis of the distribution of impedances detected in patients with neoplasia in order to detect test median reference values.

Humeral Greater TuberosityHumeral Fractures/ Proximal1 more

Patients with greater tuberosity fractures is becoming increasingly common, as is the number of cases of humeral surgical neck fractures. This study investigated the relationship between size of greater tuberosity fragment and occurrence of humeral surgical neck fractures by using CT or MRI tests.

Interest of Eosinopia in the Diagnosis of Infection in the Emergency Department

Eosinopenia

Several studies have described the interest of eosinopenia as a marker of infection in internal medicine or in intensive care units. Eosinopenia is an inexpensive and easily accessible biological marker of sepsis. Retrospective work in the adult emergency departments of Strasbourg University Hospitals has shown the good specificity of this biological sign for the diagnosis of infection. Our work aims to confirm the results by a more meaningful study. Main objective: Evaluation of the interest of eosinopenia in the diagnosis of bacterial infection in ED. Methodology: inclusion of all patients with criteria for bacterial infection in ED, inclusion of an equivalent number of uninfected control patients. Duration : 12 months Multicentric prospective study 6 centers : Strasbourg, Hôpital Nord Franche comté, Sélestat, Wissembourg, Colmar, Mulhouse

Atrial Fibrillation Cycle Length Measured on Transesophageal Echocardiography

Atrial Fibrillation

Background: The atrial fibrillation cycle length (AFCL) measured by electrophysiologic study is well known parameter for the maintenance of sinus rhythm after DC cardioversion (DCCV) or ablation therapy. The aim of this study was to test whether a AFCL measured by transesophageal echocardiography (AFCLTEE) could predict the outcome after DCCV. Methods: In 100 consecutive patients with non-valvular AF, TEE will be performed within 6 hours before DCCV. The AFCLTEE was measured by averaging 10 sequential peak to peak intervals of atrial fibrillary waves seen in the pulsed wave Doppler image on the left atrial appendage. The primary endpoint was AF free survival rate at 6 months after DCCV.

The Microbiome Variability and Antibiotic Resistance of Chronic Suppurative Otitis

Suppurative Otitis Media

ear swabs will be collected from 120 patients with established CSOM at the ear-nose-throat (ENT) outpatient clinic at the Ziv medical center, and 120 swabs will be taken from children with Otitis Media with Effusion (OME) undergoing elective tympanostomy tube insertion, serving as a control group. Ear swabs will be frozen at -80C until analysis.DNA will be purified from ear swabs, and amplified by PCR so that a barcoded 16S rRNA library from each subject will be generated. Using correlation analysis, we will compare between microbial compositions in chronic otorrhea patients vs. control groups. An additional ear swab will be collected from patients and cultured to test antibiotic resistance.
