Health Literacy and Digital Health in Cancer Patients.

Cancer

This is a multicentric, prospective, observational, transversal study, aiming to evaluate the health literacy of cancer patients using the approved French version of the Functional, Communicative and Critical Health Literacy (FCCHL) scale in 2 populations: Population A: patients age 65 and over treated in an oncology or oncogeriatric outpatient clinic, or seen in an oncology or oncogeriatric consultation. Population B: young patients age 18 to 64 treated in an oncology or outpatient clinic, or seen in an oncology consultation. The following questionnaires: Approved French version of the FCCHL scale Questionnaire on the use of digital tools adapted from the questionnaire on digital tools, will be completed once only. It will be completed by the participant during the oncology or oncogeriatric consultation or outpatient clinic appointment, in self-questionnaire mode or face to face, assisted if necessary by a family member or member of the medical team.

Patients With Acute Renal Failure During Severe COVID-19

Renal Failure Chronic

The occurrence of renal failure during severe forms of COVID-19 is common (20-35% of patients treated in intensive care) and associated with an unfavorable short-term prognosis, but the medium-term renal outcome is not is not known. The aim of the study is to establish the frequency of chronic kidney failure after AKI KDIGO 2 and 3 occurring during severe COVID-19 in intensive care.

Minimal Invasive TLIF Arthrodesis Using Augmented Reality Navigation for Percutaneous Pedicle Aiming...

Arthrosis

Surgery for degenerative spondylolisthesis requires decompression of the narrow lumbar canal and fixation by osteosynthesis-arthrodesis. Conventional surgery is done through the open route. For 10-15 years, minimally invasive techniques have been established, allowing faster postoperative recovery for the patient. The downside to these techniques is the use of intraoperative fluoroscopy. This is why surgical navigation systems have been developed, allowing safe positioning of implants (pedicle screws). A new process (augmented reality navigation) has been tested in vitro and applied in open surgery. The HUS were the first establishment to apply this new method in minimally invasive surgery in a hybrid room of surgery and interventional radiology.

Clinical Value of Next Generation Sequencing in Chinese Childhood Solid Tumors

PediatricSolid Tumors1 more

Samples of 200 patients with pediatric malignant solid tumors will prospectively be collected. Selected samples are sufficient for next generation sequencing(NGS) and available for follow-up information. Multi-omics techniques such as DNA and RNA panel will be used to study driver genes for the development of malignant solid tumors in children, and to explore the pathogenic mechanism. The aim of this study is to explore new biomarkers for the diagnosis and treatment for childhood malignant solid tumors.

S-32 PG 242 Short Stem

Osteoporosis

The data of calibrated CT-scans will be used for the Finite Element Analysis (FEA) analysis for SMR Short Stem in identified hospitals in EU and US as developers of the project and for further research, upon subject acceptance. In particular, the Quantitative Computer Tomography (QTC)/Finite Element Analysis (FEA) model of the assembly consisting of the shoulder and the orthopaedic implant allows detailed analyses including: assessment of micromotion at the bone-implant interface, to predict osseointegration; comparison of strains/stresses between the intact bone tissue and the bone with the implant in order to predict the stress shielding phenomenon.

DM DEVICE DISRUPTION SURVEY

Diabetes Mellitus

Rationale: Continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) and insulin pump therapy (CSII) have increased in utilization in the treatment of both type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus. Both types of devices are worn externally, with either a catheter or filament introduced into the subcutaneous space. Removal of these devices interrupts glucose monitoring or insulin delivery or both, which may have an adverse impact on patients' glucose control. Few studies have investigated the logistical and technical challenges that patients face when their insulin pump device or continuous glucose monitor (CGM) is interrupted. Intervention: We will conduct a patient survey which seeks to identify and quantify the number of times insulin pump therapy or continuous glucose monitor has been disrupted, for what reason, how it was resolved and whether diabetes care had been adversely affected. Objective: To determine the frequency and intensity of adverse health outcomes resulting from mandatory removal of CGM on insulin pump devices in healthcare or other settings. Study population: Patients treated at Washington University outpatient clinics or Barnes Jewish Hospital between August 1, 2021- December 1, 2021. The study will include outpatients with diabetes mellitus who routinely utilize either CGM or insulin pump therapy or both. The target number of patients for the study will be 600, equally distributed between inpatients and outpatients, and with at least 100 having type 1 diabetes. Study methodology: After providing consent, patients will complete an electronic questionnaire. Demographic information and diabetes history will be extracted from the patients' medical records. Study endpoints: We will determine the incidence of disruptions to insulin pump therapy or continuous glucose monitoring in patients with diabetes mellitus as a result of hospitalization or medical test over a 1 year time period. We will also determine adverse health outcomes that resulted from device disruptions.

High-dose, Short-term Steroid and Low-dose Long-term Steroid Use in ARDS Caused by COVID-19

Short-term (3 Days) High-dose (1000 mg) Systemic Methylprednisolone

In this study, we aimed to compare, retrospectively, the 15-day continuous hemodynamic, laboratory and clinical course of COVID 19 patients to whom we administered short-term (3 days) high-dose (1000 mg) systemic methylprednisolone with those to whom low-dose long-term (2x 40 mg) systemic methylprednisolone was administered.

Influence Factors and Cognitive Characteristics in Unipolar and Bipolar Depression:Based on the...

Cognitive Impairments

Cognitive impairment is the core symptom of unipolar and bipolar depression, which seriously affects the prognosis of the disease and the rehabilitation of social function. There is no unified conclusion in the field and severity of cognitive impairment, and the cause of cognitive impairment is unknown, which may be related to many factors. In this study, the THINC-it tool was used to study the characteristics of cognitive impairment in unipolar and bipolar depression by longitudinal follow-up, which provides a theoretical basis for the differential diagnosis of unipolar and bipolar depression. Early identification and intervention of risk factors can improve the prognosis of the disease.
