Normal Fetal Brain SulcationComputer Program for Evaluation of the Symmetry between the Primary Sulci of the Two Fetal Brain Hemispheres Using 3-dimensional Ultrasound Planes This retrospective study is based on the computerized analysis of the orthogonal fetal brain planes. The images are obtained from the digital archive of the fetal sonographic examinations done in Bnai Zion Medical Center. In addition, midsagittal measurements of fetal head will be obtained from this archive of 3-dimensional images. Study measurements will provide the quantitative parameters of normal fetal brain sulcation. Normal fetal head growth in midsagittal plane will be studied also.

Frequency of Axial Spondyloarthropathy Among Patients Suffering From Fibromyalgia
FibromyalgiaAnkylosing SpondylitisFibromyalgia Syndrome (FMS) is a non - inflammatory condition characterized by the presence of chronic, widespread musculoskeletal pain and tenderness; FMS is considered to be the result of increased processing of pain by the central nervous system. Axial spondyloarthropathy is the hallmark of Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS), an inflammatory joint disease involving the axial spine, the sacroiliac joints as well as peripheral joints. Although FMS and AS differ vastly in their pathogenesis, a considerable clinical overlap may exist between these conditions. Both disorders typically cause chronic nocturnal back pain and disturbed sleep may accompany either condition. In addition, the investigators have previously described an increased prevalence of (secondary) FMS among female AS patients. This overlap may have important clinical implications since the presence of comorbid FMS may lead to increased severity results on commonly used instruments in the evaluation of disease activity in AS, such as the BASDAI and BASFI . Recently, the Assessment of Spondyloarthritis international Society (ASAS) has published updated classification criteria for axial spondyloarthropathy. These criteria, which are summarized in table 1, are based on the evaluation of patients suffering from chronic back pain with an age of onset of less than 45. Objective: The objective of the current study is to evaluate the prevalence of axial spondyloarthropathies among FMS patients, utilizing the new ASAS criteria.

Application of Chemical Sensors for Diagnosis of Inflammatory Bowel Diseases and Irritable Bowel...
Inflammatory Bowel DiseasesIrritable Bowel SyndromeDiscriminating irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) from inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), especially with mild disease activity, is common clinical challenge. Most of the patients with suspected IBS have to go invasive procedures (colonoscopy/gastroscopy). In order to avoid invasive investigations, there is a search for noninvasive markers with the capacity to distinguish between IBS and IBD. Dr Hossam Haick (Department of Chemical Engineering, Technion) developed a system that combines nano-metals produced in his laboratory with electrical devices (transistors). The combination between a nanomaterial and an electrical transistor induces a change in its electrical behavior upon exposure to the material being examined; that is, a change in its electrical properties. The change in its electrical behavior is translated into a computerized graphic signal. The electronic nose is composed of an air pump, a filter for filtering external contaminants and an array of sensors. Each sensor transmits a signal according to the materials it "knows" how to identify. Thus, it is possible to characterize most of the substance families characteristic of a certain disease, and the same system is designed for differential diagnosis of different diseases. The purpose of the investigators study is to use the "electronic nose" to find bio-markers that will help to diagnose IBD and IBS without using invasive procedures. The plan is to collect 200 samples (50 IBS' 50 Crohn's disease, 50 ulcerative colitis and 50 controls). The patients included in the study will undergo an evaluation by a gastroenterologist after signing an informed consent and will answer a questionnaire. The samples will analyzed in the laboratory of Dr. Haick.
