Cerebral Oxymetry in Traumatic Brain Injury
Traumatic Brain InjuryVasopressor for current treatment protocols for acute traumatic brain injury can lead to vasoconstriction and thus cerebral hypoperfusion that can be detected with cerebral oxymetry as a drop in SCO2.

Tissue Characterization From Various Parts of the Gastrointestinal Tract in Healthy Volunteers
HealthyTissue characterization will be performed, from different regions of the gastrointestinal tract in healthy volunteers.

Heart Rate and Initial Presentation of Cardiovascular Diseases (Caliber)
Abdominal Aortic AneurysmCoronary Heart Disease NOS13 moreStudy of heterogeneity in associations between heart rate and the initial presentation of 12 cardiovascular diseases.

Telomeres Parameters in Cirrhosis
CirrhosisThere are several factors that influence telomere length in patients with cirrhosis, such as metabolic derangements and infectious etiologies, The aim of the study is to compare telomere length and other parameters related to genetic instability in telomere/ telomerase system, in peripheral blood lymphocytes in cirrhosis from different etiologies.

Acute Kidney Injury Biomarkers: Diagnosis and Application in Pre-operative Period of Liver Transplantation...
Acute Kidney InjuryAcute kidney injury (AKI), is a common complication of patients undergoing liver transplantation. Timing and definition of AKI, usually based on serum creatinine, have been inaccurate and inconsistent. We hypothesized that the pattern of novel biomakers elevation could be a prognostic tool to provide information on the risk of progression of AKI, the need for RRT and mortality.

Musculoskeletal Injuries' Prediction Tool for Military Combatants in the Israeli Defense Force
Cumulative Trauma DisordersEmerging evidences indicate that performance on a variety of functional movement screens can identify athletes/soldiers at risk for injury. These field expedient tests have not been validated in a military setting or across different military occupational specialties. In this prospective study the investigators plan to screen 300 combatants for a 1-year time frame in order to validate the suggested algorithm of a list of modifiable and non-modifiable risk factors which are hypothesized to predict injury risk during the military service.

Bulbar Function in Neuromuscular Patients
Neuromuscular DiseasesThe main objective is prospectively study the upper airways function in an adult population of neuromuscular patients. The main measurement will be the evolution of tongue strength recorded each year during annual clinical evaluation on a 5 years period.

Evaluation of MALDI Biotyper CA System for Detection of Gram- and Gram+ Bacteria and Yeasts
InfectionThe study objective is to confirm that the MBT-CA System identifies medically significant bacteria and yeasts from an isolated colony from any sample type processed by the clinical laboratory. For this purpose MBT-CA test results will be compared to bi-directional sequencing results.

MIRT and Rotigotine in the Early Stage of PD
Parkinson's DiseaseTo test whether a multidisciplinary intensive rehabilitation treatment (MIRT) slowed down the progression of the disease in Parkinson's disease (PD) "de novo" patients, all treated with Rotigotine, in a randomized controlled study with a 18 months follow-up.

Biomarker Discovery in Parkinson's Disease
Parkinson's DiseaseThere are approximately one million Americans who live with Parkinson's disease with 50,000 new cases per year and this rate is expected to rise with an aging population. The underlying pathophysiology and disease understanding of PD still remains elusive due to a combination of disease complexity and lack of predictive capability of existing models. The Berg Interrogative Biology™ discovery platform has demonstrated a unique capability in producing drug targets and biomarkers that truly represent a disease phenotype. It has been able to catalyze molecules now in late stage clinical trials in cancer and many pre-clinical candidate therapeutics and biomarkers in endocrinology and central nervous system (CNS) diseases. The platform is able to decipher normal versus disease signatures by integration of data sets from the genome, metabolome, proteome, and lipidome in an agnostic manner that is subjected to Bayesian Artificial Intelligence informatics. The resulting nodes are then put back into wet-lab validation before proceeding to proof-of-principle pre-clinical testing. By utilizing clinical data and specimens obtained by the medical specialists at The Parkinson's Institute, along with Berg's Interrogative Biology™, this study aims to discover a disease biomarker enabling the creation of a diagnostic test for Parkinson's disease.
