Predictives Factors of Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy: a Multimodal Analysis Using 2D Speckle...

Heart FailureReduced Ejection Fraction

Cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) is one of the lastest recommended treatments in patients with refractory symptomatic chronic heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFREF). Despite clear guidelines 20 to 40 % of implanted patients are not clinically ameliorated. They are called the "non responders". Patient selection seams to be one of the key to improve the efficiency of CRT. This protocol try to assess positive predictive factors to CRT by a multimodal approach.

Molecular, Pathologic and MRI Investigation of the Prognostic and Redictive Importance of Extramural...

AdenocarcinomaRectal Diseases19 more

Extramural venous invasion (EMVI) is the spread of microscopic tumour cells into the veins around the tumour. Rectal cancer treatment has improved greatly over recent years. However, it is important for us to learn as much about the tumours as possible in order to develop newer therapies. Current treatments may benefit from new genetic information relating to the cancer. We hope to identify genetic differences in certain types of rectal cancer which will allow future treatments.

The Effect of Gender on the Consumption of Pain Medication in Infants Undergoing Craniosynostosis...

Craniosynostosis RepairUntethering of Cord

Postoperative pain is a major concern in routine management of children admitted to pediatric intensive care treatment. There are significant negative physiological and psychological ramifications of postoperative pain such as impairment of cardiac function due to tachycardia, restlessness in an intubated patient requiring increase dosage of sedative and paralytic drugs and reduced patient cooperation in the healing process. The main body of evidence dealing with gender differences in pain perception and treatment stems from studies in the adult and adolescent population as the gonadal hormones have a central role in the way one experiences pain The hypothesis of this study is that there is a difference in the perception of pain, the amount of analgesia used and the response to pain medication between male and female infants undergoing craniosynostosis repair or untethering of cord.

Advanced Analysis of the Carotid Phonoangiography and Diseases

Carotid AtherosclerosisSeeing Sounds as Colors2 more

Purpose: To investigate the different sound spectrum of carotid arteries and to analyze its relationship to the vessel disease, and to build a new biomarker about vascular disorder. Methods: To record the carotid phonoangiography with digital stereoscopy and analysis the spectrum with different algorithm such as FFT, wavelet, entropy, complexity, and HHT. The results will be correlated and comparison to the finding in clinical, carotid Doppler and duplex, CTA, MR, and catheter angiography. Statistics: The significance of difference between parameters was computed using t-tests or paired t-test etc. A p value <0.05 is defined as significant.
